Dynamic drainage basins
Landscape evolution model simulation of drainage basins developing under the combined influence of fluvial channel incision and soil creep. The model eventually reaches a static steady-state, but the approach to that steady-state is surprisingly dynamic.

CREE INDIANS OF THE MOOSE DRAINAGE BASIN, NE ONTARIO CANADA CIRCA 1900
Cultural Optimality, A Study of the Rise and Decline of the Cree Culture of North Eastern Ontario .A Thesis Submitted to the Department of Canadian Studies of Carleton University In Partial Fulfilment of the Requirements For the Degree of Master of Arts By Donald E . Pugh .May, 1972 . ABSTRACT Although contact between a western civilization and a primitive culture often leads to the disintegration of the latter, the culture of the Swampy Cree of the Moose River drainage basin appears to have reached its optimal period or cultural climax during the fur trade from their contact with European technology . A complementary perception of the resources of the region permitted a symbiotic division of labour by each culture which strengthened and materially benefited the other without a loss in cultural identity . Cultural disintegration for the. Cree only occurred in the twentieth century when the European culture altered its goals and relationship to the land and introduced a cultural clash through encroachment on Cree hunting grounds, the imposition of European laws, and the suppression of native Cree customs and practices . learning about river basins in a geography lesson, using Second Life
this is a video of a Grade 9 class in Singapore, filmed during one of their geography lessons, in which they used Second Life to learn more about drainage basins. the lesson started with a group of students from within the class, sharing with their peers how they had gone about terraforming a drainage basin. this part of the video has been subtitled and deliberately blurred in order to protect the privacy of the students. the second half of the video shows excerpts of the students' in-world activity, as they collaboratively formed their own river basins in their respective plots of land.

Importance of Drainage Basins in Laundromats - HK Laundry Video
Do you have problems with floods in your laundromat? Have you ever had backups or suds coming out of your floor drains? These common issues could be minimized with the addition of a drainage basin, also known as a drain trough! Karl Hinrichs, a laundry veteran with over 30 years experience in the laundromat industry, discusses the benefits of a drainage basin. He also shares a few pointers on what to do before you order, or build, your drainage basin. Watch this video to find out why Karl feels drainage basins are the second best invention to be embraced by the laundromat industry (the first being Laundry Card systems). Ella's Ridge Subdivision Ella Mae Court Drainage Basin 002
homebuildandrenobuddy.com G'day Everyone, In this video I wanted to show you the type of issues that can arise when doing larger subdivisions. At Ella-Mae Court out at Ella's Ridge we had a situation where in the local councils eyes we did not have sufficient drainage capacity. I maintain that this is a load of rubbish but they are the ones you have to get approval off. In this instance we had to create a drainage basin to the rear of 3 of the lots so that in the event of a major storm the water could catch in this basin and drain away slowly. Given that we back onto a fruitblock that would gladly accept the water flooding down onto it given the drought I would have thought that in any major rain even there was enough land to dispurse the water onto so that a bisin was not required. But alas imbosile Council engineers had other ideas and made us put this use less waste of space and money basin in. Just some of the trials and tribulations of developing. Cheers, You're Buddy, Dion

Amazing Underwater World... Checto River
We take a look at the amazing underwater world on the Checto River in Southern Oregon. The Chetco River is a 56-mile-long (90 km) stream located in the southwestern portion of Oregon. It drains approximately 352 square miles (912 km2) of Curry County. Flowing through a rugged and isolated coastal region, Supporting a large population of salmon and trout, the Chetco's water is of very high quality. The watershed is home to many other species, including several that are endemic to the Siskiyou Mountains area. The northernmost grove of Redwoods—the tallest trees on Earth—grow in the southern region of the Chetco's drainage basin. In total, the river is home to over 200 species of animals, and 97 percent of the watershed is forested.
