London-Surrey Cycle Classic - coming up Staple Lane, over the North Downs from East Clandon, down the sharp right hand corner into the A25. Starts off with a comedy moment from a Police Motorcyclist - Camera angle doesn't capture the steep down hill section I'm afraid, until right at the end. By the way.. how we got to be in this location.. we parked at Newmans Corner, and cycled east along the North Downs Way. Next year, it'll be a lot busier, and the spot at the bottom of the hill - very steep / hairpin at the bottom - will be a prime location. It was CLOSED today as too many people had already made it there!!

Taking in the best of the varied landscape of Surrey Hills and North Downs, all 3 courses are based in the heart of this area of outstanding natural beauty. Although this area is known for its hills, everything is rideable if you have a reasonable level of fitness. A great early season tester, on very quite roads, within a stunning area!

Taking in the best of the varied landscape of the Surrey Hills and the North Downs. Starting at the bottom of the Olympic Race Hill 'Box Hill', from a venue that has plenty of parking and outstanding facilities. There are 3 course to choose from; 101 mile Epic; 77 Mile Standard and a 33 miles Fun Route

Brook level crossing
Saturday September 10 2011 at 8.45 am. A 2 carriage train and a 3 carriage train pass by. These are diesel trains. Brook is one of 4 level crossings (Tangley, Chilworth, Brook & Gomshall) in 3.5 miles of the North Downs line. Apparently troops evacuated from Dunkirk in 1940 threw postcards out of their train at this crossing for people to post. Also on this line is North Camp level crossing by Aldershot barracks. Apologies for the sloping camera.
