Sculpting Tutorial - TruForm Armatures - Creation of ISLAND SONG Start to Finish
This is the second TruForm, 24 inch, armature that I've used. For over 20 years I've had Hal Slear and his brother, Tim, who works with 3 galleries on the Hawaiian Islands, try to get me to do a Hawaiian piece. Well this August, with an armature begging to be used, I decided to do it. Thus ISLAND SONG was born. One of my first memories, since I lived in Honolulu from about 1945 to 1949, were the grass skirts and the hula dancers. So this was like revisiting my early life. TruForm Armature figures are made of urethane foam and a durable plastic. The head and ribcage can be altered by using a round file, if necessary, during the gestural phase. The pelvis and extremities are made of a durable plastic on the 18" and 24" models and a very rigid urethane foam on the 36" model. One of the key elements of the TruForm Armature figure is the aluminum wire inserts in the joints and all parts can be removed or replaced. The TruForm Armature figure can be reused and any part you may need can be found on our Parts and Accessories pages. Figures are scaled to an ideal 8 head figure. 7 1/2 head legs coming soon. 18" - Best for professionals who work on smaller pieces and sculpt "tight" in detail. Not recommended for beginners. 24" - Ideal size. Easy to use. Best for the student or everyday professional. 36" - Makes the sculptors job easy. Great for large projects. Maquettes to Monuments

Full Dragon Sculpture, Part 1. Armature wire
I'm so excited to be starting a NEW project!! This is going to be awesome! I am doing a full figure sculpture this time. If possible I would like to sculpt a dragon! Wings and all! But if for some reason I am unable to do that I will just sculpt something else... Most likely a abstract creature.. Either way, it all sounds fun! lol Sorry for not getting this video up sooner, I had serious issues with my computer and had to reset it back to the way it was shipped from the factory.. A pain, but now its running good as heck! lol (yes I backed up all my files) I tried my best to explain what I did on this so far... sometimes its hard explaining this stuff! lol I am a visual learner, so its weird explaining.. But like always if you have a question just ask, I'll try to answer if I can. I would really like to hear what you think so far, I know its early in the project, but I can't help to feel excited!!! Part 2 will come much faster now that my computer issue is solved, so you can look forward to that. I am going to be doing other stuff in between some of these project videos, just so you know! For example, I have a particular way I marble this clay, and it yields similar results every time.. I think this would be helpful to everyone who needs to simulate marble. It SUPER easy!! I also have some VERY COOL ideas for clay projects!! But its top-secret...for now.. =D Thank you so so much for watching everyone, don't forget to rate.. And I will see you again SOON! Sculpting Tutorial - TruForm Human Armature - Plains Warrior From Start to Finish
This video goes from recieving the first TruForm Armature I ordered and then coming up with a project, from a photo, taken at a model shoot back in 1991. The head and ribcage can be altered by using a round file, if necessary, during the gestural phase. sculpting tutorial - Geronimo Started - TruForm Armature Used
I started Geronimo today. His face was the first step to capturing his likeness. I'm using an 18 inch human armature for this figure that will sit on top of another armature of a horse by the same company. If you wish to order armauters go to www.truformarmatures.com If you'd like to follow me live in my studio, go to http Geronimo, born June 16, 1829 -- February 17, 1909) was a prominent Native American leader of the Chiricahua Apache who fought against Mexico and the United States for their expansion into Apache tribal lands for several decades during the Apache Wars. Allegedly, "Geronimo" was the name given to him during a Mexican incident. His Chiricahua name is often rendered as Goyathlay or Goyahkla in English. After an attack by a company of Mexican soldiers killed many members of his family in 1858, Geronimo joined revenge attacks on the Mexicans. During his career as a war chief, Geronimo was notorious for consistently urging raids and war upon Mexican Provinces and their various towns, and later against American locations across Arizona, New Mexico, and western Texas. In 1886 Geronimo surrendered to US authorities after a lengthy pursuit. As a prisoner of war in old age he became a celebrity and appeared in fairs but was never allowed to return to the land of his birth. He later regretted his surrender and claimed the conditions he made had been ignored. Geronimo died in 1909 from complications of pneumonia at Fort Sill, Oklahoma

Stop Motion Puppet Making Video 1: Armature for Sculpting
This video explains the process of making a simple armature for sculpting a puppet design or maquette. You will use this design to sculpt a puppet in oil based clay and then mold the sculpture to make a foam latex puppet. This is Video #1 in the series. Quick Facts: The wire is Arcor 1/8th aluminum wire. Fast Steel is the epoxy putti that was used. But we suggest using ProPoxy because it is a better quality. Please feel free to leave your questions bellow and also check out our other videos on this YouTube Channel. You can also download our free magazine at www.stopmotionmagazine.com.

My Blog for my Art work: tatteredroses41.blogspot.com My Etsy Store: www.etsy.com Please Subscribe is FREE!!! Hello, first I would like to say that this is not a Tutorial. This is just myself in a learning experience on how to sculpt and create a Dragon, if you would like to learn how to do this you can visit TheBroodingTom he has great tutorials on how to do this and his work is AMAZING!!! Because of his talent and tutorials I thought that I could do this and inspire me to be more creative, so why not!?!? For Tom's Dragon Tutorial Link Below: www.youtube.com Now being said that, this is the first stage on creating my first big Dragon Sculpture (Dragon Bust) with Super Sculpey and Polymer Clay. Is a process but every step is important in my believe, cause that is how you can create magic with your hands. So the first step is creating the armature, this was fun to do. I also created a little studio environment cause I thought it was necessary to show my work. I have enjoy every minute of all this and I will try to keep up with this kind of videos to show you my creativeness in a different way other than Makeup and Hair LOL... Full Dragon Sculpture, Part 2. Wings, foil, and tape!
Polymer clay dragon sculpture, in progress! Now I am even MORE excited then the last video!! Putting those wings on this dragon really helped boost my confidence level.. All I had to do way try, instead of fretting. Still working to keep these video simple, learning is seeing. If you have any questions I will try my best to answer them. It is important to bulk out the armature with foil to save clay reduce complications from baking clay too thick. What happens is the thick part is usually not baked enough, OR, if you do bake it enough the thinner part (like the wings) will be over baked, resulting it possible burning or browning.. The body area will still get a lot of clay though, and I may even add last minute foil if I feel its needed. The tape is to protect the clay from the foil and the clay also sticks better to tape. Also, the seams of the foil can work apart during the claying part. Another reason I add tape.. Have you ever messed up and had to take a sculpture apart? You will have a bunch of tiny foil pieces in your clay, its a mess! Thank you all for being a part of this project, this channel, and for all the help and encouragement.. This all would be nothing without you.. Full Dragon Sculpture, Part 1. Armature wire www.youtube.com Full Dragon Sculpture, Part 2.
