A documentary chronicling the history of College of Marin in Marin County California, just north of San Francisco. This is a video found recently in my archives. This program provides the opportunity for the development of basic entry-level skills necessary for employment in a clinical/medical office environment. In a rapidly growing profession, medical assistants work directly with physicians and other health care personnel as team members in providing patient services. Medical assistants perform a variety of clinical, laboratory, and administrative functions in physicians offices, medical clinics, laboratories, and specific hospital departments. The program is offered only at the Indian Valley Campus. Students may elect to complete an Associate in Science degree, or a Certificate of Achievement: Administrative and Clinical, Administrative, or Clinical. Students may elect to complete a Skills Certificate for Medical Terminology Skills, MediSoft Skills, or Phlebotomy Skills. The Certificate of Achievement options require a minimum of two semesters to complete. Students may take courses on a part-time basis.

These courses provide occupational education and training for men and women who wish to pursue coursework in fire technology. The Emergency Medical Technician Training Course certificate meets the requirements of the California Health and Safety Code for basic EMT-1 training. The approving authority is the MarinCounty Emergency Medical Service Agency. This course completion is valid for two years from the completion date and shall be recognized statewide. Note: This is not an EMT-1 Certificate.

The Automotive Technology Program on the Indian Valley Campus of College of Marin--is certified in two levels. Level One -- Fundamentals Level Three -- Comprehensive. Level Three Certification signifies that graduates will require minimal supervision upon employment. The Automotive Technology Program is one of only seven ATTS certified community college programs in the state of California. ATTS is program developed by the Automotive Industry and Educators as a means to evaluate Automotive Training Programs. Industry endorsement signifies that the program meets minimum job entry training standards established by the automotive repair service industry in conjunction with automotive educators.
