Mabon - Omnia
Mabon - Omnia
Welcome to Pagan Folk! OMNIA draws upon the traditional roots that have brought forth all music to bring an otherworldly and deeply moving performance to the stage that is unique in this age of bland pre-programmed commercialism. OMNIA's nature-religious songs and fascinating stage act are a veritable feast for your eyes, ears and soul as interwoven voices and intricate melodies lead you through Pagan Heaven to Pagan Hell and back again... with a smile on your face. Playing self-composed 3rd-millennium Folk and world-music with a sprinkling of traditional melodies and dance tunes from places like Brittany, Ireland, Scotland and Afghanistan, OMNIA's music is 100% acoustic - no synthesizers, no electric instruments, no programming, just pure honest music. Dressed in graceful black neo-Celtic clothing adorned with the bronze age holy symbols of our Celtic/Pagan heritage and surrounded by an amazing amount of hand made beautifully decorated traditional instruments OMNIA takes the audience along into a world of living nature, humour and earth magic. OMNIA's music is very hard to compare with any other band or genre. OMNIA's sound is an artful mix of the deep earthy tones of didgeridoo expert Luka Aubri-Krieger (East-Indies), the virtuoso harp, hurdy-gurdy and bodhran playing of Jennifer Evans-van der Harten (Holland), the unmistakable "DADGAD" guitar-groove of Joe Hennon (Ireland) and the flutes, bouzouki, drums, and ironic dialogue of front man Steve "Sic" Evans-van der ...

Lisa Thiel - Mabon (Autumn Equinox)
Song: Mabon (Autumn Equinox) Artist: Lisa Thiel Album: Circle Of The Seasons # song: 08 Lyrics O now is the time of the Harvest, As we draw near to the years end Now is the time of Mabon Autumn is the time to descend Old Woman waits patiently for us At the threshold of the labyrinth within She offers her hand that we may understand The treasures that await at journeys end O Great Mother has given of Her body, We give thanks for Her fruit and Her grain We then clear the fields so that next harvests yields Will be full and abundant again. Old Woman leads us through the darkness Our most ancient and trusted of friends She carries the light of spiritual insight And leads us to our wisdom once again And as we journey through the darkness And as we continue to descend We learn to let go of what obscures our soul And re-discover our true being in the end O now is the time of the Harvest, As we draw near to the years end Now is the time of Mabon Autumn is the time to descend Old Woman waits patiently for us At the threshold of the labyrinth within She offers her hand that we may understand The treasures that await at journeys end O Great Mother has given of Her body, We give thanks for Her fruit and Her grain We then clear the fields so that next harvests yields Will be full and abundant again. An ode to the Autumn Equinox (Mabon) "She is dying"
An ode to the Autumn Equinox (Mabon) "She is dying"
I wanted to make a video to honour the Autumn Equinox, also known to some as "Mabon". However, the history of Mabon is somewhat hazy, it seems that while the Autumn Equinox celebrations go back before the written records, Mabon itself is a relatively new name for the old festival. So rather than cause controversy on the facts, I decided to write something myself instead to honour the change of the Season. "She is dying", was written specially for this video, but after asking my friend Lily (youtube LilyAz) to proof-read it for me, she encouraged me to submit it to "The Unicorn" a Pagan Publication. I was very shocked to hear that it had been accepted and is featured in the current issue (Mabon Issue). This video is not meant to promote religion in any way, just to honour the changing of the seasons, if its not your cup of tea, then just click off :) No obligations to watch... It has been made for DVD so the quality is not as great on youtube, I hope you can read the words ok ... Thank you, I hope you enjoy... Lisa

Charlene Spretnak's insight into the story of Demeter and Persephone has grounded and nurtured my own understandings in earlier years.
