From Love to Bingo Getty Images AlmapBBDO
Patient research work involving more than 5 thousand photographs resulted in a 1 minute film that AlmapBBDO created to advertise Getty Images, the world leading image database for creating and distributing visual contents. The film is surprising when showing 873 images in 15 images per second, sufficient speed to transform the series into a video that, without any text, tells a beautiful story. All photos, without any exceptions, are from the Getty Images archives. Copywriter Sophie Schoenburg and art director Marcos Kotlhar worked 6 months researching images, improving the script and building each scene so they would not only be understood, but would also touch viewers. Sometimes, for example, a scene would look perfect on paper, but the images chosen to depict it were not sufficient or did not perfectly match up to offer the right movement and sense. And hence the research had to be restarted. The film was directed by Cisma, via Paranoid BR, along with Marcos Kotlhar, the art director at the agency. For this creation team, the purpose was to adhere to the concept that Getty Images has so many images that anybody is capable of telling any story they want by only using their archives. In the film "Do amor ao Bingo em 873 imagens" [From love to Bingo in 873 images], a storyteller in the corner of the screen describes the images used. The Getty Images logo appears at the end of the story, but the storyteller continues to turn until reaching the exact number of images in the ...

Photograph Of Jesus by Laurie Hill in association with the Getty Images Short & Sweet Film Challenge
Short and Sweet has teamed up with Getty Images to launch a film challenge with a twist. Getty Images approached producer Basil Stephens and Short and Sweet founder Julia Stephenson with the idea of setting up a film competition which would make use of images in Getty's Hulton Archive. Stephenson drew from her in-depth knowledge of the short film arena to suggest a selection of talented filmmakers. After picking out ten up-and-coming directors, she gave them the opportunity to pitch. Four of the filmmakers made it on to the shortlist and got the chance to realise their ideas. They were given three months to create their films. The challenges aim was to highlight the breadth and depth of content available at the Hulton Archive, which offers a unique resource to filmmakers and creatives alike. But rather than set a rigid brief, the challenge offered key words and phrases as prompters to guide the filmmakers creativity. Examples of these prompters included discover our past, images that shape our future, still & moving imagery, ordinary people, ordinary things and extraordinary people, extraordinary things.

Gary Connery World Record Wingsuit Jump 2012
Stuntman Gary Connery sets a new world records for a 3000 Foot base jump without a parachute. Gary Connery became the first skydiver to land without the aid of a parachute on May 23, 2012 in Henley-on-Thames, England. The professional Hollywood stuntman performed a 3000ft base jump without the aid of a parachute, landing on 24000 cardboard boxes in his home town of Henley upon Thames. Gary was wearing a revolutionary wing suit, which lessens the forces of gravity as he descended, requiring him to land at the optimal angle to the boxes as he approached at speeds in excess of 90mph. www.gettyimages.com

From love to bingo in 873 images - Mind Blowing Commercial for Getty Images
Awesome idea. You all watched it. Twice too, didn't you? There's 873 images in this stop motion, and before long I'm sure it'll have 873 million views online. Why not. Everyone is talking about it. Because eight hundred pictures of "family holding hands" and "walk on the beach" are far more exiting when made into an animation. It's beautiful. It's mesmerizing, and it has to be watched. Each one of the eight hundred and seventy-three images looks beautiful if you happen to randomly pause on it, and each one works so well with the next there's never a jumpiness or awkward moment. Also of note is the fact Getty Images has now compiled a database of more than thirty-eight million pictures, which, is frankly incredible. I doubt many of the photographers thought their snapshots would one day wind up in this lovely order, but something tells me they're all pleased to have helped in a small way to create this masterpiece. — at Sao Paulo, Brazil .

Paul Frankland, aka Woob, has been one of my favorite ambient/electronic artists for a long time. He has made me the honor of providing "Paradigm Flux", a new track of his, as the soundtrack for this new time lapse piece.
Paul is among the most acclaimed ambient musicians of his generation and has created several milestones of the genre, including the well loved Woob 1194 and Woob 4495 albums on the late Nottingham-based em:t label.
If you like great evocative, cinematic ambient music combining organic elements with world and dub influences, by all means check out his latest album, "Repurpose": http://woob.bandcamp.com/album/repurpose
"Paradigm Flux" is available here: http://woob.bandcamp.com/album/paradigm-flux-ep

"Made on Earth" is the result of many photography expeditions over the past two years. Spain, Iceland, Estonia and USA were the main destinations.
My goal has always been to get the best results, both technical and dramatical, emphasizing composition, light and feeling in each and every shot.
The difficulty of filming in many locations, the arduous process of developing and the physical and economic effort I had to make to film this piece, makes me extremely happy to share the material in Vimeo.
If you would like to travel to these places and learn or improve your time-lapse technique, you might want to attend one of my workshops or tours.

During my trips I have shot a lot of footage. If you are interested in licensing the shots of this peace or use my services, please contact me: info@enriquepacheco.com
