The Bush Theatre is based in Shepherd's Bush, in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. It was established in 1972 and has since become one of the most celebrated new writing theatres in the world.

A seedbed for the best new playwrights, many of whom have gone on to become established names in the industry, The Bush has won over 100 awards, and also continues to attract major acting and directing talent, regularly touring its work nationally and internationally and transferring productions into the West End.

The Bush Theatre's Original Home (2005)

In 1972 the theatre was established above The Bush public house on the corner of Goldhawk Road and Shepherd's Bush Green, in what was once the dance studio's of Lionel Blair. It was established by a maverick actor Brian McDermott who used to tour the Fringe^[6]. The venue, despite its fame and massive output, was intimate only holding a maximum audience of approximately 80.

In November 2010, the Bush Theatre announced it would be leaving its home of nearly forty years and moving to the old Passmore Edwards Public Library building round the corner from its own home, to Uxbridge Rd.^[7].

The move took place the following year and opened with the Sixty Six Books project a celebration of the anniversary of the publication of the King James Bible using sixty six different writers many of them veteran writers of the Bush.

The Bush runs a Writers Development Programme, with an open script submissions policy, and reads over 1,000 scripts each year. The theatre looks for exciting new voices that tell contemporary stories with wit, style and passion, and champions work that is both provocative and entertaining^[8].

To celebrate 40 years of the Bush Theatre, Close-Up Magic: 40 Years at the Bush Theatre^[9] was published charting the history of the theatre and included contributions from past directors, actors, writers and audience members from the past.

Diana Anaid (born 8 April 1978) is an Australian singer-songwriter.^[1]

Early life and career[link]

Born Diana Gosper in New South Wales, Anaid released her self-titled debut album at the age of 19. The album became fairly popular with the first single, "I Go Off", which received extensive airplay on the alternative station Triple J and was rated #58 on the Triple J Hottest 100, 1997 and was featured on their compilation CD for that year, the Triple J Hottest 100, Volume 5. Her follow-up album, I don't think I'm pregnant, was released in 1999, with the singles "Love Song for a Girl", "Don't Believe in Love", and "Perfect Family". "Perfect Family" rated #55 on the Triple J Hottest 100, 1999 and was a track on Triple J Hottest 100 Volume 7.

Anaid played her first Sydney gig at the Excelsior Pub in Surry Hills. Her third studio album, Beautiful Obscene was produced by Paul Palmer and Ted Hutt (No Doubt, Bush) in Los Angeles. Anaid was the first artist Paul Palmer signed to his own record label Five Crowns Records after leaving Trauma Records. "Last Thing," from the Beautiful Obscene album, received substantial airplay across the United States and coupled with extensive touring and promotion, "Last Thing" became Diana Anaid's first international hit outside Australia, charting on the Hot AC American Chart.

"Cheatin' on Me" was released on 27 October 2007^[2] and is the first single to be released from Anaid's own label, Forola Records.

On 25 September 2009, Anaid's single "Cynical On Waking" was released for digital download and shortly thereafter for physical release. It was the first track from her new album which is also the first studio album to be released on her label Forola Records, titled simply Diana Anaid. The album was released sin February 2010.

In January 2011, Diana Anaid was nominated in The 10th Annual Independent Music Awards for her song "Charity" in the Sing Out for Social Action Song category.^[3]

Stefan Golaszewski is an English writer, performer, and director. He is part of comedy sketch group Cowards.

Golaszewski was the Cambridge Footlights President from 2002-3.

He wrote, performed in and co-directed a pilot for BBC Three called Things Talk. As a director, he won the if.comedy Best Newcomer Award with Tom Basden for Won't Say Anything in 2007 and again in 2009 with Jonny Sweet for "Mostly About Arthur".

His one-man play Stefan Golaszewski Speaks About A Girl He Once Loved was performed at the Edinburgh Festival, 2008. Directed by Phillip Breen it picked up a host of five-star reviews. This was later performed with another play Stefan Golaszewski is a Widower at the Bush Theatre in London's Shepherd's Bush, again to critical acclaim.^[1] The two plays have since been published as "The Stefan Golaszewski Plays" by The Invisible Dot Ltd.

He is a part of comedy sketch group Cowards, which also includes Tim Key, Tom Basden and Lloyd Woolf. They made a TV series for BBC Four and their second Radio 4 series came out in late 2008.^[2]

He has written West End play "Sex with a Stranger" that was staged in early 2012

His sitcom, Him & Her, starring Russell Tovey and Sarah Solemani, premiered on BBC3 on September 6, 2010.^[3]
