Cheick Tidiane Seck (born December 11, 1953) is a Malian musician, arranger and composer. He has written for and played with world-famous African (Fela Kuti, Mory Kanté, Salif Keita, Youssou N'Dour) and jazz (Hank Jones, Dee Dee Bridgewater) bands as well as rock musician Damon Albarn (Rocket Juice & the Moon).

The celebrations kicked off with a symposium, debate and interactive question and answer session which hosted entertainment mogul, Mr Ben Bruce, erstwhile politician and past governor of Cross River state, Mr Donald Duke, spokesperson for the Kuti family and debate moderator, Mrs Yemisi Ransome Kuti. The session also included Mr Idowu Mabinuori and renowned poet and writer, Mr Odia Ofeimun.Also present was the Boss of the NDLEA, Mr Iweajunwa. Each speaker on relevant societal issues which Fela had adressed.
Ake production is releasing a series of sneak previews from the range of nearly completed scenes already in post production. Ake is based on the childhood memoir by Nigerian Nobel Prize winner in literature, Wole Soyinka. It is mainly a tale of upgrowing memories in the writer's family home in Ake, Abeokuta, Nigeria. His father was the headmaster of the Christian missionary school, Ake. The home was situated within the Ake parsonage compound but childhood recapitulations extend to other locations in Abeokuta and beyond. A towering figure on the Malian music scene; keyboardist, composer, and performer and arranger of popular and traditional Malian music. He is a prolific and experienced traditional musician with many international musical collaborations under his belt. Kingsley Nwabuisi was scheduled to graduate as a Medical Doctor on 22nd June 2013, but in March 2013 he was diagnosed with liver cancer. After a tough battle with the illness, he died on 5th May 2013. The Nigerian Students Association of Lugansk State Medical University (NSA-LSMU) in conjunction with the foreign Students council of LSMU, and several other groups organized this memorial ceremony in his honor on 17th May 2013 (the same day he was buried in Nigeria). May the soul of this gentle, humble and diligent man rest in peace. Amen
