A family day out to Murree Resort,on 6th June 2010. Cable cars were the best feature. It was sunday and very busy on Jinnah Road, also known as Mall Rd. Watch at 6.54 secs , with an arrow pointing down, did you get it? The poor eagle had it's claws trimmed and couldn't hang on.

It was a planned trip to murree by me, but the routes were not planned...so we had lot of fun over there on our bikes. Omais picked salik, parked his car at my place, met qazi on the way and wwhhuuuummmmm....murrreeee :P Planning our next trip to banjosa, Kashmir ;)

Murree was the summer capital of the British Raj in the Punjab Province (British India). A popular tourist destination, Murree is often referred to as the "Queen of Hills," a term coined by the British. Located in the north-west Himalayas at an average altitude of 2291 metres (7516 ft), the city of Murree, draped in forests of pine, and oak, experiences pleasant summers and cold, snowy winters. The city is famous for its buildings styled in tudorbethan and neo-gothic architecture dating from the colonial era. Murree is located along the Islamabad-Murree Highway, some 58.3 km (36.2 miles) northeast of Islamabad.

Patriata has a breathtaking landscape. High forested ridges and deep intersecting valleys with terraced slopes offer magnificent views of this naturally beautiful area. How to get there Patriata is located to the west of the Jhelum river, 59 kms south east of Islamabad and is less than 26 kms south east of Murree. Road access to Patriata from Islamabad/ Rawalpindi is along one of two routes via Karor and Ban, or murree expressway. Attractions Visitors to this area take pleasure in a breathtaking panoramic view in an area unmarred by over commercialization. At the same time fully equipped facilities for its visitors are provided. It was named during British rule 'little England' after which oak and chestnut trees were planted. One of the thrilling features of Patriata is the dual chair lift and cable car system from Gulera Gali to Patriata ridge. This dual system incorporates a chair lift from Gulera Gali to Patriata Bazar, from here at the midpoint, pedestrians transfer from the chair lift to an enclosed cable car(gondola) from an elevated platform, traveling onward from Patriata ridge, a- distance of 3.1 km.
