1-5 Germanic Tribes 1 - Barbarians Against Romans
Germania, Germani, Germanica have all been used to refer to the group of peoples comprising of the German Tribes in the first centuries CE (AD), We have good and reliable written information from the Roman author Tacitus' Germania and Agricola, as well as other sources. The Migration Period, also called Barbarian Invasions or Völkerwanderung, is a name given by historians to a human migration which occurred within the period of roughly AD 300--700 in Europe, marking the transition from Late Antiquity to the Early Middle Ages. The migration included the Goths, Vandals, and Franks, among other Germanic, Bulgar and Slavic tribes. The migration may have been triggered by the incursions of the Huns (not a Germanic tribe), in turn connected to the Turkic migration in Central Asia, population pressures, or climate changes. The migration movement may be divided into two phases; the first phase, between AD 300 and 500, largely seen from the Mediterranean perspective, put Germanic peoples in control of most areas of the former Western Roman Empire. (See also: Ostrogoths, Visigoths, Burgundians, Alans, Langobards, Angles, Saxons, Jutes, Suebi, Alamanni). The first to formally enter Roman territory — as refugees from the Huns — were the Visigoths in 376. Tolerated by the Romans on condition that they defend the Danube frontier, they rebelled, eventually invading Italy and sacking Rome itself (410) before settling in Iberia and founding a 200-year-long kingdom there. They were ...

Germanic Tribes
The Germanic peoples are a historical group of Indo-European-speaking peoples, originating in Northern Europe and identified by their use of the Germanic languages which diversified out of Common Germanic in the course of the Pre-Roman Iron Age. The Germanic-speaking peoples of the Iron Age and the Migration Period display a uniform material culture and common religious beliefs, even though recent scholarship has contested the existence of a distinct Germanic ethnicity. Migrating Germanic peoples spread throughout Europe in Late Antiquity and in the Dark Ages Germanic languages became dominant along the Roman borders Austria, Germany, Netherlands, England, but in the rest of the western Roman provinces, the Germanic immigrants adopted Latin (Romance) dialects. Furthermore, all Germanic peoples eventually converted to Christianity. The Germanic people played an important role in transforming the Roman empire into Medieval Europe, and they contributed in developing a common identity, history, and culture which transgressed the linguistic borders.

The Germanic Tribes: The Complete Four-Hour Saga
This acclaimed multi-million dollar four-part series shows the rise of the tribes of a primitive culture on the fringe of northern Europe to become the heirs of the Roman Empire. For a long time the view of the Germanic people of many peoples was distorted by the Germanic cult of the 19th century and the Nazi dictatorship. Due to new methods and discoveries, research is now able to present a different picture of the Germanic tribes. Many clichés about the barbarians of the North have to be discarded as myths. The linchpin of Germanic history is the conflict with the Roman Empire. Since the age of Caesar this Roman-Germanic conflict was characterized not only by fierce battles but also by phases of co-existence and cooperation. The Germans dug the grave of the Roman Empire, but were also the preservers of the Roman legacy. The series breathes new life into the little known world of the Germanic tribes. We see how they lived, fought and worshipped their gods. Intricate 3D animation shows how they built their settlements, buried their kings and vanquished their enemies. Roman cities such as the ancient Cologne, home of the Romanophile Germans, and the Roman limes, the border to free Germania, are also reconstructed through magnificent computer graphics and full cast reenactments. This entertaining and informative DVD presents the definitive history of the Germanic people. Please visit www.kultur.com for more information on this program

Barbarians . The Franks (2005) Confederation of Germanic tribes FULL DOCUMENTARY
The Franks (Latin: Franci or gens Francorum) were a confederation of Germanic tribes first attested in the third century AD as occupying land on the Lower and Middle Rhine. In the 3rd century some Franks raided Roman territory, while others joined the Roman troops in Gaul. The Salian Franks formed a kingdom on Roman-held soil that was acknowledged by the Romans after 357. After the collapse of imperial authority in the West, the Frankish tribes were united under the Merovingians. During the 6th century they succeeded in conquering most of Gaul. They were active in spreading Christianity over western Europe and had created one of the strongest and most stable post-roman kingdoms.[citation needed] The Merovingian dynasty, descended from the Salians, founded one of the Germanic monarchies which replaced the Western Roman Empire. The Frankish state consolidated its hold over large parts of western Europe by the end of the eighth century, developing into the Carolingian Empire. This empire would gradually evolve into the state of France and the Holy Roman Empire. The term Frank was used as a synonym for 'Roman Catholic' in the Middle Ages, as the Franks were rulers most of western Europe and were closely affiliated with the Church in Rome.

Kiesha in Zurich
Kiesha Crowther Little Grandmother, one of the 12 young Shaman wisdom keepers to establish the "Tribe of many colors" recently was on a European Tour spreading her message on how to start living from the heart. She also speaks about our ancestors, the pole shift, where the extraterrestrials are hiding and what we can do to change our world and heal Mother Earth. This is a 25 minutes summary of her workshop in Zurich, Switzerland of early November 2010. Two shorter videos on 2012 and various subjects will be published soon. The workshop was held in two languages (English with German translation) but we compiled for you only the English original.

Q & A with Kiesha Crowther
Kiesha Crowther Little Grandmother, one of the 12 young Shaman wisdom keepers to establish the "Tribe of many colors" recently was on a European Tour spreading her message on how to start living from the heart. This is the 3rd video from the Zurich workshop covering questions from the audience on subjects such as crop circles, star beings, God, the Masculine and Feminine, UFO sightings, the purpose of crystals and who are the 12 Wisdom Keepers. Recorded on November 2/3, 2010. Don't worry about the small cuts in the video; it is due to editing out the German translations to make it more compact, keeping only the English original.

Preview of The Witness: A Tribe of Heart Documentary
How does a construction contractor from a tough Brooklyn neighborhood become an impassioned animal advocate?
In the award-winning documentary THE WITNESS, Eddie Lama explains how he feared and avoided animals for most of his life, until the love of a kitten opened his heart, inspiring him to rescue abandoned animals and bring his message of compassion to the streets of New York. With humor and sincerity, Eddie tells the story of his remarkable change in consciousness.
THE WITNESS has been an official selection in 31 film festivals and received ten awards, including eight Best Documentary awards, a Best Short Film award, and a Best of Festival award.
The documentary has also been broadcast as part of the independent film showcases of several regional PBS stations, and via satellite on Link TV and Free Speech TV.
THE WITNESS has received extraordinary support from everyday people, who have thus far organized several hundred community screenings in nearly every U.S. state and all over the world, in venues ranging from libraries and churches to college campuses and movie theatres, often with theatre owners donating the space for the events.
With the help of caring people who wanted to bring THE WITNESS to the international community, Tribe of Heart has released foreign-language versions of The Witness in Spanish, French, German, Czech, Japanese, and Swedish.
