The Russian Provisional Government (Russian: Временное правительство России, translit. Vremennoye pravitel'stvo Rossii) was a provisional government of the Russian Republic established immediately following the abdication of Tsar Nicholas II (March 15, 1917). The government replaced the institution of the Council of Ministers of Russia, members of which after the February Revolution presided in the Chief Office of Admiralty. The intention of the provisional government was the organization of elections to the Russian Constituent Assembly and its convention. The government was initially composed of the Kadet coalition led by Prince Georgy Lvov, which was replaced by the Socialist coalition led by Alexander Kerensky.
On September 16, 1917, the country's legislature (the Duma) was officially dissolved by the newly created Directorate and the country was officially declared the Russian Republic (Russian: Российская республика, translit. Rossiyskaya respublika), even though the state status as such occurred with the fall of the monarchy (Tsar's abdication). The provisional government lasted approximately eight months, and ceased to exist when the Bolsheviks seized power after the October Revolution (or November 1917, depending on Calendar Dating Styles).
Provisional government is an emergency or interim government set up to manage a political transition, generally in the cases of new nations, or following the collapse of the previous governing regime. Provisional governments are generally appointed, and frequently arise either during or after civil or foreign wars.
President Jocelerme Privert maintain power until a new government can be appointed by a regular political process, which is generally an election. They may be involved with defining the legal structure of subsequent regimes, guidelines related to human rights and political freedoms, the structure of the economy, government institutions, and international alignment. Provisional governments differ from caretaker governments, which are responsible for governing within an established parliamentary system and serve as placeholders following a motion of no confidence, or following the dissolution of the ruling coalition.
In opinion of Yossi Shain and Juan J. Linz, provisional governments can be classified to four groups:
The Russian is a fictional supervillain, and enemy of the Marvel Comics antihero the Punisher. He was created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, and first appeared in The Punisher Vol. 5, #8 (November 2000).
The Russian debuted off-panel in The Punisher Vol. 5, #8, was fully introduced in the following issue, and appeared in every subsequent one up until his death in Issue #11. In the following series, the character was resurrected as a cyborg, and was featured in The Punisher Vol. 6, #1-5.
The Russian received profiles in Marvel Encyclopedia #5, All-New Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe #9, and Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A-Z #9
The earliest known sightings of the Russian occurred while he was vacationing in Afghanistan in the 1980s. He subsequently travelled the world, inserting himself into various conflicts for fun and profit; locations he is said to have fought in include Lebanon, Iraq, Rwanda, East Timor, Chechnya, the Balkans, and Belfast (where he consumed a man on a bet). The Russian's activities led to him being wanted (dead or alive) by numerous law enforcement agencies, as well as criminal organizations such as the Yakuza.
The Russian Revolution is the collective term for a pair of revolutions in Russia in 1917, which dismantled the Tsarist autocracy and led to the eventual rise of the Soviet Union. The Russian Empire collapsed with the abdication of Emperor Nicholas II, and the old regime was replaced by a provisional government during the first revolution of February 1917 (March in the Gregorian calendar; the older Julian calendar was in use in Russia at the time). In the second revolution that October, the Provisional Government was removed and replaced with a Bolshevik (Communist) government.
The February Revolution (March 1917) was a revolution focused around Petrograd (now Saint Petersburg), then capital of Russia. In the chaos, members of the Imperial parliament or Duma assumed control of the country, forming the Russian Provisional Government. The army leadership felt they did not have the means to suppress the revolution, resulting in Nicholas' abdication. The Soviets (workers' councils), which were led by more radical socialist factions, initially permitted the Provisional Government to rule, but insisted on a prerogative to influence the government and control various militias. The February Revolution took place in the context of heavy military setbacks during the First World War (1914–18), which left much of the Russian army in a state of mutiny.
A government is the system by which a state or community is controlled. In the Commonwealth of Nations, the word government is also used more narrowly to refer to the collective group of people that exercises executive authority in a state. This usage is analogous to what is called an "administration" in American English. Furthermore, especially in American English, the concepts of the state and the government may be used synonymously to refer to the person or group of people exercising authority over a politically organized territory. Finally, government is also sometimes used in English as a synonym for governance.
In the case of its broad associative definition, government normally consists of legislators, administrators, and arbitrators. Government is the means by which state policy is enforced, as well as the mechanism for determining the policy of the state. A form of government, or form of state governance, refers to the set of political systems and institutions that make up the organisation of a specific government.

After the Tsar's abdication on 2 March 1917 the political situation was intense. Two new political bodies were formed on 28 February, the Provisional Government who claimed official power and the Petrograd Soviet who claimed genuine power in the eyes of the people. This period of dual power would ultimately lead to another revolution by the year's end. With Lenin on his way back to Russia from Zurich the revolution takes a turn against the Provisional Government.

After the Provisional Government (which anthem was The Worker's Marsellaise), the Russian Republic existed between 14 September and 7 November 1917. This anthem wasn't finally approved by the Soviet. The Milyukov note was an incident on the 20th of April 1917, one which resulted in the bolstering of support for the Bolsheviks in Russia, and a widespread mistrust of the Russian Provisional Government. The Bolsheviks, who had long thought that the Provisional Government was continuing the war in the same fashion that the Tsarist Government had, had little proof of this and were simply waiting for a time to take action in spreading popular mistrust of the Provisional Government. Foreign Minister Pavel Milyukov sent the Allied Powers a telegram, one which would prove to be a turning point of 1917. The telegram contained the statement that the Provisional Government would continue the war with the Tsarist war aims. The telegram was leaked to the Bolsheviks by an insider, and they began pro...

European Civilization, 1648-1945 (HIST 202) The period between the Russian Revolution of February 1917, which resulted in the overthrow of the autocracy and the establishment of a provisional government, and the Bolshevik Revolution in October of that same year, offers an instructive example of revolutionary processes at work. During this interval, the fate of Nicholas II and his wife, Alexandra, was bound up in the struggle for power amongst competing political factions in Russia. Until his death, Nicholas was convinced that the Russian people would rescue him from his captors. Such a belief would prove to be delusional, and the efforts on the part of liberals, socialists, and some Bolsheviks to arrange for a trial would fail to save the czar from the verdict of history. 00:00 - Chapter...

Alan Woods, author of "Bolshevism: the Road to Revolution", discusses the "June Days" of the 1917 Russian Revolution. Following the February revolution, which overthrew the Tsarist regime, Russia was left with a state of dual power: a situation where power rested both with the bourgeois Provisional Government and the workers' soviets. With the war continuing and food shortages growing, tensions within Petrograd began to rise. As a result, more and more workers, soldiers, and peasants were turning towards the Bolsheviks and joining their ranks, as proven by the enormous demonstration in the capital on 18th June, where the masses turned out with Bolshevik banners and slogans.
The October Revolution , officially known in Soviet literature as the Great October Socialist Revolution , and commonly referred to as Red October, the October Uprising, the Bolshevik Revolution, or Bolshevik Coup was a revolution in Russia led by the Bolsheviks led by Vladimir Lenin that was instrumental in the larger Russian Revolution of 1917. It took place with an armed insurrection in Petrograd on the 25th of October 1917. It followed and capitalized on the February Revolution of the same year, which overthrew the Tsarist autocracy and resulted in a provisional government after a transfer of power proclaimed by Grand Duke Michael, brother of Tsar Nicolas II, who declined to take power after the Tsar stepped down. During this time, urban workers began to organize into councils where...

In April 1917, Lenin returned to Russia and politically re-armed the Bolshevik Party with the slogan "all power to the soviets". In doing so, Lenin was affirming Leon Trotsky's theory of the permanent revolution: the analysis that the capitalist class in the colonial countries, arriving late onto the scene of history in an epoch of imperialism, had long ceased to play any progressive role and could not carry out the tasks of the bourgeois democratic revolution and national liberation. The conclusion: that socialists and revolutionaries in Russia could not give any support to the liberal Provisional Government, but must call for the working class to take power through its own democratic organs, the soviets. In this talk from a recent Socialist Appeal day school, Alan Woods (editor of In ...
Alan Woods, author of "Bolshevism - the Road to Revolution", discusses the "July Days" of the 1917 Russian Revolution. As Alan discusses, revolution is not a one-act drama; it is not a linear process of radicalisation and ascent. Within any revolution, there are ebbs and flows. During the course of 1917, counter-revolution reared its head in the month of July. Terrified by the outbreak of mass spontaneous armed demonstrations with the slogan "All Power to the Soviets", the Provisional Government took measures to suppress the leaders of the Revolution. The Bolshevik offices and printing press were shut down, whilst Lenin was driven into hiding. These events marked a turning point in the revolution. From this moment on, dual power had ended. Only two options remained: either the forces of...
