In the spring of 2004, a group of friends started to meet every Friday simply to "hang out", with no specific purpose. At times, they would watch music videos, sports, or discuss various topics ranging from family issues, acculturation, the US economy and its occurrences, to, inevitably, Haiti. The discussions about Haiti were positive in nature because the unplanned focus was "the good old days", including the growing experiences and the many activities which constitute the fond memories that they and so many other Haitian-Americans keep within themselves as a treasure. After Gregor Blaise dug up his 25 year-old High School Band saxophone out of his Miami home garage, jamming to Shleu Shleu and Les Fantaisistes old songs, it all started. Carl Craig joined with his guitar, Eddy (Didy) Altiné brought in the groove and the guitar solos, Jean Kerby Baton added the needed bass, Edouard Leon and Patrick Louis took their roles as percussionists and all, they formed the group PNP-Plezi'n Nap Pran with Pantal Guilbaud and Philippe Carrie as vocalists. PNP members then engaged in the interpretation of tunes from Tabou Combo, Skah Shah, Les Shleu Shleu, Les Fantaisistes, Les Ambassadeurs, Ibo Combo, Les Difficiles, Nemours Jean-Baptiste, Webert Sicot, Septentrional, and Pepe Bayard/Gary French. Philippine National Police chief Director General Raul Bacalzo ordered a "full-dress investigation" as he ordered the eight officers from the Regional Public Safety Battalion of the Police Regional Office 4A relieved and placed under restrictive custody. PNP spokesman Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. "strongly" condemned the "acts of maltreatment." Relieved from their post since Monday were Police Officer 1 Roque Oro, PO1 Evan Mark Cuartero, PO1 Jhun Plonelo, PO1 Melvin Malihan, PO1 Rovylyn Addatu,PO1 Marfe Adler, PO1 Allan Pascua and PO1 Troy Sumayod, he said. Two videos of the hazing incident, probably taken using mobile phones, were sent to the Commission on Human Rights before the PNP national headquarters got a copy, Cruz said. "These actions, as I've said before, have no place in the PNP where respect and human rights and the rule of law is a policy, a must for everybody," Cruz said. PnP - a LEGO Pick & Place Robot

PnP is a very simple (but flexible) LEGO robot that mimics some of the things an industrial robot can do. The arm is very basic, but can address a large workspace using two-axis spherical motion and a parallelogram mechanism to keep the "finger" level at the end. Using NXT-G and the LEGO NXT motors gives it a high accuracy, enough to place 2x4 bricks within a few millimeters of the desired position. The result is that PnP can move simple objects, and a wide variety of "work stations" can be fitted around it. It can also firmly push on things, activating levers or sliding mechanisms. Since the NXT can easily drive at least one more motor, this minimalist mechanism can easily be expanded. This was inspired by Ian Hendry's amazing LEGO creations, and another project that seemed to require linear motion... but I wasn't sure it did.

Ruben Edera Ecleo, (December 9, 1934 – December 20, 1987), a Filipino spiritual leader who founded the Philippine Benevolent Missionaries Association, Incorporated (PBMA, INC.) in 1965.
He was born from a poor family in the Island of Cabilan, Dinagat, Surigao del Norte, in Northern Mindanao. At the age of 8 he started his mission as a transient healer-missioner assuming different personalities and travelled all over Mindanao Islands and in some parts of the Visayas Region. He learned Arabic, Hebrew, Sanskrit and Aramaic languages, from whence, he abled to interpret the ancient mysteries and read the Akashic Records and taught a different and a unique doctrine - an amalgamation of Christianism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Akasha doctrines.
On the early 1960s he organized his first group of followers and called "The First Thirteen" resembling the Twelve Apostles in the Bible who have first received Jesus's teachings and instructions. He eventually became known by the title "Divine Master" by his followers, a title which is equivalent to "Grand Master" or "Worshipful Master" of the order of Freemasonry. In 1965, he organized and established his association, the Philippine Benevolent Missionaries Association, Incorporated and registered it with the Securities and Exchange Commission with the Registration No. 28042.
He was once featured in the WHO Magazine (26-09-81) as "The South's Mysterious Superstar" being the architect of Barangay San Jose in the Municipality of Dinagat, which became the homebase of PBMA, Inc. San Jose was acclaimed as "Most Outstanding Barangay of the Philippines" by the elite Rotary Club of Makati in 1980. Ruben was elected mayor of the Municipality of Dinagat from the mid-60s which gave him the record for serving the longest term as local executive for 20 years which was only cut short by his untimely demise on December 20, 1987. He was chosen as "Most Outstanding Mayor" of the Philippines in 1985.
After his death, the Association's leadership was bequeathed to his eldest son, Ruben Ecleo, Jr. A mausoleum at the top of the hill in Barangay Cuarenta, San Jose, Dinagat Islands was built in his honor.
