Rodney Terence Argent (born 14 June 1945) is an English rock musician and a founding member of the 1960s English rock group The Zombies and the 1970s band Argent.
As a child Rod Argent sang as a boy chorister in St Albans Cathedral Choir. While at St Albans School, he met Paul Atkinson and Hugh Grundy. Argent, Atkinson and Grundy first played together at a jam on Easter 1961 in St Albans, Hertfordshire.
Argent wanted to form a band and initially asked his cousin Jim Rodford to join. Rodford was playing in local band called The Bluetones at the time, so declined. Colin Blunstone and Paul Arnold joined the new band in early 1961 while all five members were still at school. Arnold left not long after and was replaced by Chris White. After the band won a local contest, they recorded a demo as their prize. Argent's song "She's Not There" got them a deal with Decca.
In addition to playing piano and keyboards in the Zombies, Argent was (with White) one of the group's two main songwriters, penning the hits "She's Not There", "Tell Her No" and "Time of the Season", amongst others. Argent was initially the group's lead singer, with Blunstone on guitar. When Argent's keyboard talents became apparent, he became the group's full-time keyboard player, conceding the role of lead singer to Blunstone. The group continued to record through the 1960s, but disbanded in December of 1967, reportedly over management disagreements.

July 16th 2006. All Together Now, released in 1972, was the third album recorded by British rock band Argent. It was Argent's first hit album and features their most successful single "Hold Your Head Up," which reached number five in both the U.K. and U.S. singles charts. Other featured songs include "Tragedy," "I Am the Dance of Ages" and "He's a Dynamo." The 1997 compact disc re-release of All Together Now by KOCH Records features an additional seven tracks not included on the original seven-track vinyl record. The bonus tracks include "God Gave Rock and Roll to You", one of Argent's best-known songs due to the popular cover/remake by Kiss. In 2009, for their reunion, Mr. Big recorded a cover of "Hold Your Head Up" and played it throughout the tour. In the Q & Mojo Classic Spec...
"She's Not There" is the debut single by the British pop band, The Zombies. It reached number twelve in the UK Singles Chart in August 1964, and became a top-ten hit in the United States. In Canada, it reached number two. Rolling Stone magazine ranked "She's Not There" #291 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Songwriter Rod Argent's second song was recorded and released in mid-1964. One of the song's most distinctive features is Argent's electric piano sound; the instrument used was a Hohner Pianet. The backing vocals are in a folk-influenced close-harmony style. This minor key, jazz-tinged single was first aired in the United States during the first week in August 1964, on New York rock radio station WINS by Stan Z. Burns, who debuted the song on his daily noontime ...
Another great Russ Ballard song with some great guitar work from the man himself.
Amazingly great keyboard solo. As I was singing this song as a young teen, loving it like all of America, I never imagined I would ever get to hear it live by Rod Argent himself.

Wonderful; one song of a Lovely 50th Anniversary concert of The Zombies playing songs of their new CD Breathe Out Breathe In, as well as their great golden oldies. Playing in De Boerderij in Zoetermeer, Holland On the 4th of November 2011. Smashing concert of Zombies: Colin Blunstone, Rod Argent, Steve Rodford + his dad Jim Rodford, Tom Toomey live. Collin and Rod and Jim as well as Tom seemed to enjoy the concert as much as the audience did. I could not see Steve from where I was standing, just his drums, but he told me later he had a good time playing as well. Make sure you get heir new album: Breathe Out, Breathe in! It has ballads as well as steady rock songs; a wonderful mix! Or as Tom Toomey puts it: Rock On!

I get so lonely sometimes
When I start wishing you were mine
But I know you're not that kind of girl
But I just wanna let you know
I‘m in love with you
I get to thinking sometimes
When you start being unkind
And I know you're not that kind of girl
And I don't need this broken heart
It belongs to you
I've got these stupid crazy feelings baby
I don't know why
I don't know if I can make it better
