Find out more information on the 15th Anniversary of Ancestry.com on Facebook: ancstry.me The collection contains recent obituaries from hundreds of newspapers. We scour the Internet daily to find new obituaries and extract the facts into our database. We also provide source information and links to the full obituary text. If you're searching for a recently deceased ancestor, a living relative who might be mentioned in an obituary, or former classmates or neighbors then this is a great place to start. The wealth of genealogical and biographical information to be found in an informative obituary certainly makes the effort of searching for one worthwhile. For many of our ancestors (and relatives), the obituary is the only "biographical sketch" that was ever devoted to that individual. In addition to names, dates, and places of birth, marriage, and death, the obituary often identifies relationships of the deceased as child, sibling, parent, grandparent, etc., to numerous other individuals. Obituaries may even suggest other documentation of an individual's death - a death certificate in another county because the hospital was located there; church or cemetery records (by identifying the place of burial or the officiating minister); or records of a coroner's inquest because the death was sudden or unexpected. And, of course, the wealth of detail in an informative obituary may open up many research avenues. In an obituary search, it is necessary to investigate the files of all ...

Race Car Motorcycle
I created this animation by printing and hand altering every frame of the video. The original footage was recorded in one take with five cameras. I didn't use any filters or effects and the entire video is one layer. The layering effects and collage was done by hand. The images were printed on a wide variety of papers including vellum, card stock, transparencies, old printed documents, and obituaries. The prints were treated with razor blades, dirt, pencils, markers, spray paint, oil paints, pastels, fire, knives, hammers, glass, water, vodka, and pavement. The portion that looks like Photoshop's plastic wrap filter is plastic wrap.

Grand Theft Auto IV 100% Completed
Getting 100% Completion in Grand Theft Auto IV. IGN Strategize presents GTA 4 100% Complete. Helps you get 100% Completion. IGN - Grand Theft Auto IV Hardest Stunt Jump . Grand Theft Auto IV (abbreviated to GTA IV and GTA 4) is a sandbox-style action-adventure video game developed by Rockstar North. It is the ninth title in the Grand Theft Auto series and the first in its fourth generation. Grand Theft Auto IV was released worldwide (except in Japan) on 29 April 2008 for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Two episodic packs will be released exclusively for the Xbox 360, the first of which has been delayed until the first quarter of Take-Two's 2009 financial year. The game is set in a redesigned rendition of Liberty City, a fictional city based heavily on modern day New York City. It follows Niko Bellic, a war veteran from Eastern Europe, who comes to the United States in search of the American Dream, only to find his cousin has lied about the wealth that was promised to be awaiting him. Like other games in the series, GTA IV features "open-world" gameplay that gives the player more control over their playing experience. GTA IV is the first console game in the series to feature an online multiplayer mode, which contains fifteen different game types. A major commercial and critical success, Grand Theft Auto IV broke sales records by selling about 3.6 million units on its first day of release and grossing more than $500 million in its first week. The game received ...

Go Africa: Challenge of the Red Dunes
An eight part series about the spectacular animals that roam Africa. The programmes explore the cycles of aggression and harmony, survival and demise prevalent amongst all living creatures in the wild. They present a variety of wildlife including lion cubs, cheetah, rhinos and elephants through seasons of drought and rain, of famine and feast as they face the rigours of survival in this harsh yet beautiful environment. Challenge of the Red Dunes follows vet Piet Kruiper and Tomas as they rekindle the ancient art of tracking to find their way through a menacing maze of dunes in the Kalahari. Piet depends on his wisdom of the wilderness to survive the deadly creatures and traps in this scorched land. The ultimate challenge is not to leave behind their own obituaries in the desert sand.

Queen Isabella Causeway Collapse ~ September 15, 2001
In the early morning hours of September 15, 2001, the Queen Isabella Causeway was struck by a barge and a tug causing several sections to fall into the Laguna Madre Bay. Eight lives were lost and for the 66 days between the collapse and it's reopening on November 21, 2001, a variety of watercraft provided the only means to reach South Padre Island. Reconstruction took a mere 50 days after a contract was signed. Location: Texas, Rio Grande Valley, eastern Cameron County over the Laguna Madre Bay.

Frankie Capri 1986 Pittsburgh, PA
Frankie Capri at the Liberty Belle lounge, south side, Pittsburgh-1987. This was when Frankie played every Friday night at the Liberty Belle Lounge- before it became the Lava Lounge, and before all the collage kids started coming. At the foot of a bridge on Pittsburgh's South Side there was a bar called the Liberty Belle. It seemed like a typical hole in the wall except for the fact that very very late on Friday nights, for three dollars, you could go to the back room to see the Frankie Capri show. The back room was no bigger than a horse's stable, crowded with a few tables and chairs, and a small clearing at one end to serve as the "stage." The room was so dark that you couldn't even see how many people were there with you, except for the coterie of older yinzer women with platinum hair perched on bar stools by the doorway between the back room and the bar. They were wearing red bowling shirts featuring a white heart with the performers name written inside: FRANKIE CAPRI. All eyes were turned toward the stage. Shaped like a fort made from cardboard boxes, but colorful and glittery, the stage was manned by a variety of animatronic animals. Cymbal clapping monkeys, blinking colored lights, a tiny tinsel draped bear gyrating. The aging Italian American (?) entertainer sits in his stage stabbing out Elvis tunes on a casio keyboard to a polka beat while the animatronic animals do their bit and the light show goes crazy. First you laugh, then you feel annoyed, and then you ...

Downwind: At the Drive In - Invalid Litter Department
A media studies project during Downwind's college days. Starring T. High as 'Frank', an assassin whose objective is to dispose of a lead singer from a band whose other members have already been taken care of in a variety of ways. Written and directed by D. Beaumont-Smith (who also stars as the bands bassist) and R. Hagan, the video features A. McGee as the lead singer, alongside T. Bradford (drums), W. Carter (keys) and J. Weston (guitar). The video was filmed in and around the Great Yarmouth area and was part of the groups A-level media coursework. While clearly a college project, we feel it offers an interesting insight into the early workings of what would eventually forge the creation of Downwind Films.
