Opening a new business can take months, fill out this survey and tell the city how they need to improve and help businesses open more quickly. ATTENTION: RETAIL STORE OWNERS
Help NYC expedite the process of opening a new business!
Do you own a retail business in New York City? The city wants you to tell them about your experience of opening your business so that they can improve and help new businesses open more quickly.
The York City New Business Acceleration Team (NBAT) was launched in 2010 to help new businesses open more quickly and easily in New York City. NBAT assigns a client manager to guide the owner through City requirements in the most efficient way possible. NBAT has focused on the restaurant industry but is looking to expand to help other types of businesses. Your feedback will help shape the future of NBAT by letting the City know which types of businesses could benefit most from NBAT's services.
The North Flatbush Avenue BID urges all retailers to take the time and share yhour thoughts, especially if you are planning to open a second or third business. The survey takes approx. 3 minutes to complete. Thank you.

30 PVC banners line our district from Plaza Street to Atlantic Avenue throughout the 2012 season. NEW BANNERS ON NORTH FLATBUSH AVENUE
Tia Johnson of Bigup Designs is the winner
Back in October of 2011, the north Flatbush Avenue BID submitted an RFP for a Banner Design Contest and invited the public and graphic artists to submit a graphic banner design for the 30 lamp posts that align our streets from Atlantic Avenue to Plaza Street.
The submissions were many and we narrowed them down to 3. Our board of directors voted on Tia Johnson's design from Bigup Designs Graphic Arts. The BID incorporated her bold and bright design onto our new Shopping and Services Guide cover. A check in the amount of $500 will be awarded to Ms. Johnson for her winning design. Keep watching our website and Facebook page in late September for the new 2012 RFP for our banner design contest.
Our new banners will be hung throughout the year until late November when we will once again hang our holiday banners. This year, we are happy to have new merchant sponsors on our banners. All-Star Hardware and Locksmith, Burrito Bar and Kitchen, Carlton Park, Park Slope Opticals and the Christian Science Reading Room.
To Find out how your shop can sponsor a banner, visit our website and click on the Sponsor a Banner at the sidebar.
