Inside Story - Can Egypt secure Sinai Peninsula?
Egypt has sent more troops, tanks and armoured vehicles in response to the Sinai border attack that killed 16 soldiers on Sunday. Both Egypt and Israel blame 'militants' in Gaza for the attack. The claim could hurt ties between Hamas and Mohamed Morsi, the Egyptian president. It has also raised concerns over whether Egypt can secure the Sinai region. Guests: Menachem Hofnung, Sameh Fawzi, Ghazi Hamad.

Fault Lines - Battle for the Sinai
Half a million people live in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, bordering Israel and the Gaza Strip. For decades, they have been governed by a strong security paradigm, and the Camp David accords with Israel -- underwritten by billions of dollars in US military aid. Now they are back in the international spotlight because of an increase in militant attacks, arms smuggling and human trafficking. When Egyptians took to the streets against Hosni Mubarak's police state in January 2011, the Sinai was no exception. But the insurgency here continued long after his ouster, causing worry among some of Egypt's powerful backers. The true test of the evolving Egyptian relationship with the US then may lie in Cairo's ability to control any instability in the peninsula. Fault Lines explores the roots of Sinai's ongoing uprising and, as Egypt's new leaders vow to crack down on militancy and smuggling, the dangers of following an old script. How did the Sinai Peninsula become a crucible for geopolitical tensions? SINAI SECRUITY BREAKDOWN : ARMY BATTLES it out with MILITANTS [SUPPLY TUNNEL NETWORK]
Clashes in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula are raging for the second day as the military attempts to combat militants who have taken a foothold in the region since Mubarak's ouster. The violence has spurred the largest military deployment in the Sinai Peninsula since 1979. Around 60 tanks, 15 armored personnel carriers, missile batteries and hundreds of soldiers have been sent into the main Northern Sinai town of Al-Arish on Thursday as Egyptian security forces continue to battle with Islamic militants. The deployment is believed to be the largest since Egypt signed the 1979 Camp David Accords with Israel. As a result of the accords, prior approval is needed before deploying troops on either side of the border, a condition which served to virtually demilitarize the Sinai Peninsula. Militants ramped up their attacks by attacking five joint military-police checkpoints on Wednesday, prompting the Egyptian military to launch airstrikes from Apache helicopters. Nile TV reported the airstrikes killed at least 20. It was the first time Egypt had deployed its air force in Sinai since the 1973 Yom Kippur War. The military also began sealing off some of the 1200 illegal tunnels that currently permeate the Egyptian border with the Gaza Strip. The security operation was launched in response to a weekend attack when masked gunmen killed 16 Egyptian border guards before slipping across the border into Israel. On Thursday Egyptian Intelligence asked Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh to hand ...

'Israel likely orchestrated Sinai attacks'
It all began on 5th of August when masked gunmen attacked Egyptian border guards in Sinai Peninsula killing 16 of them and injuring many others. The attackers then sneaked into Israel, six of whom were killed in a firefight with the Israeli soldiers. No Israeli was injured. Tel-Aviv said the incident is a "wake up call" for Egypt in dealing with it QUOTE "terrorists". The Egyptian President vowed to retake the Sinai Peninsula and declared three days of mourning. Hamas accused Israel of planning and executing the terrorist attack. But who would benefit from such an attack? What would be its ramifications for Palestinians, Israel and the new government in Egypt? These are some of the questions we are asking from our guests on this program.

Israeli security and Islamist Egypt: PM Netanyahu unveils major section of Sinai border fence
Israel has completed the main stretch of security fence along its border with Egypt. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu traveled to the southern frontier for a ceremony marking the construction of the 230 km, 5 meter high fence meant to protect against lawlessness in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula that has been increasingly spilling over into Israel in the form of terror attacks.

West imperialists have eyes on Suez
An Egyptian court has sentenced 14 people to death on charges of carrying out attacks on security forces at the Sinai Peninsula last month. Over two dozen people were charged with deadly attacks on a police station in June, 2011. Eight of the 14 death sentences were made in absentia. This comes after 16 Egyptian border police were killed at the Sinai; dozens of insurgents were also killed. Press TV has interviewed Mr. Webster Griffin Tarpley, author and historian, Washington about who benefits from making the Sinai and Suez Canal unstable.

Clash of Warriors- Dayan vs. Amer (Six Day War)
In early June 1967 the signs of an imminent Arab assault on Israel finally to eliminate the hated enemy were unmistakeable. But the Israelis did not sit around waiting. In a brilliantly-executed preemptive air strike the Egyptian air force was destroyed on the ground in minutes. Then Israeli defense minister Moshe Dayan coordinated a lightning armored assault on the Egyptian forces in the Sinai Peninsula. Faced with the speed and aggression of the Israeli troops, there was little that the Egyptian commander Abdel Hakim Amer could do. It was all over in just six days.

Israeli Air Force Destroys a global jihadists Terror Squad APC - Israel Egypt sinai border
IDF SPOKESMAN: More than 10 Egyptian soldiers were killed by "global jihadists" during a complex attack at night on a border crossing between Israel, Egypt, and the Gaza Strip. The terrorists seized two armored personnel carriers, and attacked the border checkpoint. Israeli soldiers and the air force engaged and killed the terrorists who had entered the country. In a separate airstrike in southern Gaza, the Israeli Air Force targeted another global jihadist cell that was plotting to attack Israel from Egypt's Sinai Peninsula.

Prophecy Alert: Obama May Allow Israel to Attack Iran To Get Re-Elected
With the recent attack on Egyptian troops in the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt may look to adjust the peace treaty with Israel to allow for a major Egyptian military force to reside in the Sinai. This could pose a problem that could backfire on Israel. Israel is contemplating an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities by October of 2012. A surprise twist may develop that actually might play favorably into the US presidents re-election bid for allowing the attack to go forward. How will these events play a part Bible prophecy?

Terror Squad Infiltrating Israel from Egypt Targeted by IAF
On August 5, 2012, terrorists in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula stormed an Egyptian military base, killed more than 15 Egyptian soldiers and stole two vehicles. The two vehicles then headed toward Israel. Once one of the vehicles was inside Israeli territory, the Israel Air Force targeted it. To read more: bit.ly For more from the IDF: www.idfblog.com twitter.com www.facebook.com www.idf.il
