Epping Ongar Railway (eor) First Day of Service pt1 Fri 25 May 2012
The first day of passenger services after they were suspended in 1994, with a steam hauled train between Ongar and North Weald which was 'topped & tailed' by GWR pair 4953 4-6-0 "Pitchford Hall" and visiting Pannier Tank 6430. As the line has yet to be extended through to Epping there was a Diesel hauled shuttle between North Weald and Coopersale, which was in the charge of 31438 and 03170, replacing the unfortunately failed class 37 D6729 which looked immaculate in BR Green.

Funnel clouds and brief tornado seen near Epping (Melbourne) on Christmas Day (25/12/11). A day of massive Supercell storms across the metro area. A tornado was sighted on the ground near Fiskville/Keilor which damaged houses and cars approximately 20 minutes earlier. This funnel formed approximately 20 minutes later from the same cell. Epping Ongar Railway - 'OPENING WEEKEND' 26/05/2012
The Epping Ongar Railway has now re-started operations after a long period which has seen the railway grow into Britain's newest steam attraction. Friday 25th May saw the first steam-hauled services on the line between Ongar and North Weald for 55 years, although the motive power was very different. Instead of locomotives from the GER era, the railway has gained two Great Western Railway locos as well as a couple of Industrial saddle-tanks and a fleet of heritage diesels, DMUs and one of the former Lymington Branch EMUs. For the railway's 're-opening weekend', the line's new flagship: GWR 4900-class 'Hall' 4-6-0 No.4953 "Pitchford Hall" was in action along with GWR 6400-class 0-6-0PT No.6430 (visiting from the Llangollen Railway). The 'Pannier' is currently on-loan until the overhaul of GWR 5101-class 'Large Prairie' 2-6-2T No.4141 is completed at Llangollen's workshops. Also in action were two of the line's large diesel locomotives: BR Class 31 'Goyle' A1A-A1A No.31438 and Class 37 'Growler' Co-Co No.D6729. On display in the yard were the two Class 03 0-6-0DE Shunters Nos.03119 and 03170 along with the latest addition to the fleet: former Colne Valley Railway-based 'Andrew Barclay' 0-4-0ST No.2199 "Victory". Two services were in operation. "Pitchford Hall" and the 'Pannier' top 'n' tailed workings between North Weald and Ongar whilst the Class 31 and Class 37 top 'n' tailed with the former Lymington EMU from North Weald towards Epping. This footage is from Saturday 26th ...

Epping Ongar Railway - First steam passenger train for 55 years
From 1949 the Epping - Ongar railway was part of the Central Line of London Underground. Up to November 1957 it was a steam operated push-pull shuttle. From 1957 to until LU withdrew all services on the branch in 1994, electric tube stock was used. Since 1994 a diesel multiple unit has occasionally run on selected Sundays. After extensive restoration of both track and buildings, steam has at last returned to the line. Filmed from adjacent to Perrills level crossing, ex GWR 0-6-0 pannier tank number 6430 performs a quick test run between North Weald and Ongar. A little later it returns, disappearing under Blake Hall Road bridge before passing the long closed Blake Hall station that once had the reputation of being the least used station on London Underground. Having checked all is well, the pannier tank hauls the inaugural train from North Weald to the terminus at Ongar. Ex GWR Hall class 4-6-0, Pitchford Hall brings up the rear. The video ends with Pitchford Hall passing Perrills level crossing on the 1 in 73 up gradient towards North Weald. Fortunately the rear locomotive on each pass did not appear to be working very hard, this ensured the open regulator of the lead loco produced a good exhaust beat. Filmed 25th May 2012.

The Light of Life
Life is transparent, warm and swirls randomly like a soft light. And it constantly changes...
Life illuminates itself and then it begins to illuminates a new life.
A sprouted mass of innumerable lights become a flow before long, and then become the part of the life-throb of ages.
That ties life, this moment now.
