Moves like Outrage, Petal Dance, Hyper Beam, and Giga Impact are moves that I typically shy away from because of the unfortunate side effect of being unable to switch out on the next turn. That doesn't mean that I won't use the first two I listed if I found a need to use strong moves that execute each turn. Hyper Beam and Giga Impact will most likely not find a spot in any of my teams. I remember back in the third generation of Pokemon when people were saying that maybe they could use Hyper Beam on Slaking because it slacks off on the recharging turn anyway, so it wouldn't make too much of a difference (this was back when all Normal moves were considered physical). There are some who would prefer to have the ability to switch out Slaking after it attacks, and thus people would be using Return, the next best thing for Slaking, at least power-wise. I was one of these people who used a Slaking with Return. Ah, the good old days. Slaking was probably the first Pokemon I had where I wanted a good nature. Oddly, though, I caught the Slaking instead of hatching it. And then somewhere along the way I switched it out for Snorlax. I don't know why, but I've always seen Snorlax and Slaking as cousins of sorts. Both are Normal types, both are lazy, and both are mammals.
