Liverpool 8

Liverpool 8 is the fifteenth studio album by Ringo Starr, released worldwide on 14 January 2008. Received with mixed reviews, it marks Starr's return to EMI for the first time since leaving the label in 1975, following the end of The Beatles' recording contract with the company.

Background

The album was originally planned for release in June 2007, and began as another production by the collaborative team of Mark Hudson and Starr (the two had previously co-produced Vertical Man, I Wanna Be Santa Claus, VH1 Storytellers, Ringo Rama, and Choose Love). However, the release date was pushed back to the beginning of 2008 when Hudson was replaced by Dave Stewart after a falling out with Starr. The album's production credits read, "Produced by Ringo Starr and Mark Hudson; Re-Produced by Ringo Starr and David Stewart."

All of the songs but one were written with the Roundheads, although Stewart also has several co-writing credits. Starr's attorney Bruce Grakal told journalist Peter Palmiere that the partnership between Hudson and Starr was over and they would never work together again. This happened after Hudson dropped out of Starr's 2006 tour as musical director to do the TV show The One: Making a Music Star. According to Palmiere, Hudson claimed that the split was over Starr's insistence on using synthesized sounds, for which Stewart is known, whereas Hudson wanted real guitars, pianos, strings etc. However, concerning the parting of ways with Hudson, Starr commented, "The separation between Mark Hudson and myself was a question of trust and friendship and had nothing to do with synthesizers."

Liverpool 8 (song)

"Liverpool 8" is a song by Ringo Starr and is the lead track on his 2008 album of the same name. The song was also released in early December 2007 as a download-single. It was later released in physical formats (7" single and CD single) on 7 January 2008, a week before the release of the album. The B-side for the 7" is the third track from the album, "For Love". Despite the physical single being available for only 99 pence in the UK, it only reached number 99 there. It is an autobiography of Starr put to song, with emphasis on his time with The Beatles. The title refers to the postal district of the Toxteth area of Liverpool in which Starr was born. The single was produced by Mark Hudson and Starr, and "overproduced" by Dave Stewart and Starr.

As of 3 January 2008, the song was being played on Beatles Radio, a streaming radio station.

A promo video has been made which features Starr and Stewart.

Liverpool (/ˈlɪvərpuːl/) is a city in Merseyside, England. A borough from 1207 and a city from 1880, in 2014 the city local government district had a population of 470,537 and the Liverpool/Birkenhead metropolitan area had a population of 2,241,000.

Liverpool is in the south west of the historic county of Lancashire in North West England, on the eastern side of the Mersey Estuary. The town historically lay within the ancient Lancashire division of West Derby known as a "hundred".

The urbanisation and expansion of the city were largely brought about by its advantageous location during the industrial revolution status that led to its growth as a major port, which included its participation in the Atlantic slave trade. Liverpool was the port of registry of the ocean liner RMS Titanic, and many other Cunard and White Star ocean liners such as the RMS Lusitania, Queen Mary, and Olympic. Liverpool (video game)

Liverpool (also known as Liverpool: The Computer Game) is a football video game released in 1990 for the Amstrad CPC. In 1992 versions were released for the Atari ST, Commodore Amiga and DOS platforms and a Commodore 64 version was released in 1993. The game was developed by Arc Developments and published by GrandSlam Entertainment. Liverpool is based on the Liverpool F.C. football team. One or two players can play Liverpool. A ZX Spectrum version was advertised, but never actually released.

Gameplay

Liverpool is a football video game that allows the player to take control of Liverpool F.C. and play against other teams in the English football leagues and FA Cup. The game allows the player choose the formation and pick the team from real players in the Liverpool squad. Before practice games, the player can also set the pitch type and duration. The in-game gamplay consists of running with and without the ball, trapping the ball, throw ins, corner kicks and goal kicks. Liverpool also includes injuries and punishments from receiving red or yellow cards. The player can use a joystick or keyboard to control the game

Liverpool (2012 film)

Liverpool is a 2012 Canadian comedy crime film. Written and directed by Manon Briand, the film stars Stéphanie Lapointe as Émilie, a coat check clerk at a Montreal nightclub who decides to return a coat left behind one night by a woman who took a drug overdose in the club, only to find herself embroiled in the city's criminal underground. Her only ally in the quest is Thomas (Charles-Alexandre Dubé), a regular customer of the club and a potential new love interest for Émilie.

Liverpool was Briand's first film since 2002's Chaos and Desire.
