Dubai (/duːˈbaɪ/ doo-BY; Arabic: دبيّ Dubeii; IPA: [du'beii]) is an emirate within the United Arab Emirates (UAE). A city within the emirate is also named Dubai. The emirate is located south east of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula and has the largest population with the second-largest land territory by area of all the emirates, after Abu Dhabi. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the only two emirates to have veto power over critical matters of national importance in the country's legislature. Dubai City is located on the emirate's northern coastline.
The earliest mention of Dubai is in 1095, and the earliest settlement known as Dubai town dates from 1799. Dubai was formally established in 1833 by Sheikh Maktoum bin Buti al Maktoum when he persuaded 800 members of the Bani Yas tribe, living in what is now part of Saudi Arabia, to follow him to the Dubai Creek by the Al Abu Falasa clan of Bani Yas. It remained under clan control when the United Kingdom assumed the protection of Dubai in 1892. Its geographical location made it an important trading hub and by the beginning of the 20th century, it was an important port.

Amrita Singh (born February 9, 1958) is an Indian film and television actress.
Amrita was born to a Sikh-Muslim family. She is the daughter Rukhsana Sultana, who was a political activist and Shavinder Singh, who was an army officer.
Through her mother, she is a relative of actors Begum Para and Ayub Khan, as well as Mian Ehsan Ul Haque, who came from a landowning family. He was a judge and the Chief Justice of the highest court in the princely state of Bikaner, northern Rajasthan. Through her father, she is a relative of novelist Khushwant Singh and businessman Sir Sobha Singh of Lahore.
She attended Modern School in New Delhi and is fluent in the English, Punjabi and Hindi languages.
Amrita made her Bollywood debut in 1983 with Betaab, a vastly successful film in which she was paired with Sunny Deol. This was quickly followed by a succession of hits, such as: Sunny in 1984, Mard (which was the biggest hit of that year) and Saaheb in 1985, Chameli Ki Shaadi and Naam in 1986, Khudgarz in 1987, etc. Amrita made a successful pair in several films not only with Sunny Deol and Sanjay Dutt, but also with Anil Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan, two leading actors of the 1980s.

David Dhawan
David Dhawan (born Rajinder Dhawan in Jalandhar, Punjab, India) is an Indian film director. He has studied at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.
Dhawan started off as an editor and then took the plunge into directing. He specializes in directing comedy films, most of which have featured either Govinda, Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor or Sanjay Dutt in lead roles, along with Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor and Juhi Chawla playing the leading actresses. Kader Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Johnny Lever and Paresh Rawal appear in his films playing supporting roles. His biggest success to date is the 1993 film Aankhen, starring Govinda and Chunkey Pandey. His film, Partner (2007) also became a big success at the box office. Dhawan is considered one of the most successful directors in Bollywood, but he has been at many times blamed for copying Hollywood and South Indian films. He once had two of his films released on the same date and both did well. Dhawan is on the board of Asian Academy Of Film & Television and Asian School Of Media Studies where he has been honoured with an Academy Award by Sandeep Marwah. He was also a Judge on the Star Plus show Nach Baliye 3 in 2008 and on the show Hans Baliye.

Kavita Krishnamurthy
Kavita Subramaniam née Kavita Krishnamurthy (born Sharada Krishnamurthy on 25 January 1958) is a well-known Indian film playback singer. She is classically trained and has sung a wide range of classical-based songs. In her career, she has worked with a variety of music composers, including R. D. Burman and A. R. Rahman. She is also the recipient of four Filmfare Best Female Playback Awards, including 3 consecutive awards in the period 1994–1996 and the prestigious Padmashri which she received in 2006.
Born Sharada Krishnamurthy in a Tamil Iyer family in New Delhi, India to T.S. Krishnamurthy, an employee of Education Ministry. She began her music training with her aunt, Mrs. Bhattacharya, who taught her Rabindra Sangeet. She began her formal training in Hindustani classical music under Balram Puri, a classical singer.
At the young age of eight, Kavita won a gold medal at a music competition. Subsequently, she kept winning many such gold medals as she kept participating in the Inter-Ministry Classical Competition in New Delhi in the mid 1960s.

Lata Mangeshkar
Lata Mangeshkar (born September 28, 1929) is a singer from India. She is one of the best-known and most respected playback singers in India. Mangeshkar's career started in 1942 and has spanned over six and a half decades. She has recorded songs for over a thousand Hindi films and has sung songs in over thirty-six regional Indian languages and foreign languages, though primarily in Hindi. She is the elder sister of singer Asha Bhosle, Hridayanath Mangeshkar, Usha Mangeshkar and Meena Mangeshkar. She is the second vocalist to have ever been awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour.
Mangeshkar was featured in the Guinness Book of World Records from 1974 to 1991 for having made the most recordings in the world. The claim was that she had recorded approximately 25,000 solo, duet, and chorus-backed songs in 20 Indian languages between 1948 to 1974. Over the years, while several sources have supported this claim, others have raised concerns over its veracity, claiming that this number was highly exaggerated and that Mangeshkar's younger sister, Asha Bhosle, had more song recordings than she had. In 2011 Guinness officially acknowledged Bhosle as the most recorded artist in music history.

Mahesh Bhatt (born on 20 September 1948), is a prominent Indian film director, producer and screenwriter. Bhatt's early directional career consisted of acclaimed films, such as Arth, Saaransh, Janam, Naam,Sadak and Zakhm. Mahesh Bhatt was born to Nanabhai Bhatt, a Hindu and Shirin Mohammed Ali, a Muslim on 20 September 1948. Nanabhai Bhatt was a film director and producer of Hindi and Gujarati films. Mahesh Bhatt was raised by his mother alone as his parents were not married and his father also had another family. He has five siblings, four sisters and one brother Mukesh Bhatt, who is a film producer.
Bhatt did his schooling from Don Bosco High School, Matunga. While still in school, Bhatt started summer jobs to earn money. He also made advertisements for various products. He was introduced to film director Raj Khosla through acquaintances. Bhatt thus started as assistant director to Khosla.

Nutan
Nutan Behl (née Samarth) (4 June 1936 – 23 February 1991), better known as Nutan (Marathi: नूतन), was an Indian actress. She appeared in more than 70 Hindi films in a career spanning over four decades. Regarded as one of the finest female actors in the history of Hindi cinema, Nutan was noted for playing unconventional parts, and her performances often received praise and accolades.
Nutan started her career at the age of 14 in the 1950 film Hamari Beti, directed by her mother Shobhna Samarth. She subsequently starred in such films as Nagina and Humlog (both 1951). Her role in Seema (1955) garnered her wider recognition and a Filmfare Award for Best Actress. Paresh Rawal (born 30 May 1950) is an Indian Hindi film actor of Gujarati background.

Chopra then gave her the title role in Noorie (1979), which he produced. For this, Dhillon was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Actress. Subsequently she did about 90 films in Hindi, including Sohni Mahiwal, Red Rose, Teri Kasam, Dard, Nishana, Yeh Vada Raha, Samunder, Romance, Kasam, and Sitamgar. She was often paired with Rajesh Khanna and together, they performed in Dard, Nishaan, Zamana and Awam and the critically acclaimed Red Rose which became a box office failure and potboiler Jai Shiv Shankar. She takes the pride of featuring in six films opposite Kaka, the phenomenally brilliant actor of the yesteryear: the much glorified Rajesh Khanna.

Rajendra Kumar (20 July 1929 – 12 July 1999) was one of the most successful Indian Bollywood actors in the 1960s and 1970s. He also produced several films in the 1980s starring his son Kumar Gaurav.
He was born in a Punjabi Hindu family in Sialkot, in the West Punjab province of British India, currently in Pakistan.
Rajendra Kumar made his debut in the 1950 film Jogan in which he starred opposite Dilip Kumar and Nargis. He then shot to fame[citation needed] in the film Mother India in 1957 in which he played Nargis's son. His first major success as a romantic leading man[citation needed] was in Amit Saxenas's musical Goonj Uthi Shehnai (1959), co-starring Ameeta.
The 1960s saw Kumar rise. There were times when he had six or seven films running in their silver jubilee weeks at the same time.[citation needed] He became known as "Jubilee Kumar".[citation needed]
He had many successful films including Dhool Ka Phool (1959), Dil Ek Mandir(1963), Mere Mehboob (1963), Sangam (1964), Arzoo (1965), Pyar Ka Sagar, Gehra Daag', Suraj (1966) and Talaash. He received the Filmfare Nomination for Best Actor for Dil Ek Mandir (1963), Ayee Milan Ki Bela (1964), Arzoo (1965), and as Best Supporting Actor for Sangam (1964).

Salim Khan
Salim Khan (born 24 November 1935) is an Indian actor and screenwriter. In Hindi cinema, Khan is best known for his prolific work in the latter area.
Khan was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. Khan's father was a police officer, while his mother had died when he was still young. In 1964, he married Salma Khan (birth name Sushila Charak), a Maharashtrian Dogra Rajput from Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Salim and Salma have four children together: Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan and Alvira Khan. In 1981, Salim married the entertainer Helen, who lives in a separate house. Relations between his two families were rumored to have been tense at first, but Salim's children are now said to be fond of his second wife. They have also adopted a daughter named Arpita Khan.[citation needed]
Khan debuted after director K. Amarnath saw him at a wedding and was impressed by his good looks. He asked him to come to Mumbai, where he hired him as an actor for Rs. 400 a month. Khan acted in various movies, in large and small parts, for seven years. He was unable to capture the public's interest, and, as a result, his career had stalled. Khan appeared in such films as Teesri Manzil (1966), Sarhaadi Lootera (1966) and Diwaana (1967). He met Javed Akhtar on the sets of Sarhaadi Lootera. Javed used to write dialogues and then became a film script writer, now a well known lyricist. The duo hit it off and formed a scriptwriting team that came to be known as Salim-Javed. Their first big success was the script for Seeta Aur Geeta (1972). They also had hits in Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973), Zanjeer (1973), Deewaar (1975), Sholay (1975), Trishul (1978), Kranti (1981), Zamaana (1985) and Mr India (1987). Salim-Javed, described by some as "the most successful scripwriters of all-time",[who?] are also noted to be the first scriptwriters in Indian cinema to achieve star status.

Sanjay Dutt
Sanjay Dutt (born 29 July 1959) is a prominent Indian Hindi film star, producer and politician. Dutt, son of Hindi film actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis Dutt, made his acting debut in 1981. He has since featured in films that are amongst some of the most popular Hindi language films of the past three decades.
Dutt was born on 29 July 1959 to Bollywood megastars Sunil Dutt and Nargis and was educated at The Lawrence School, Sanawar. Dutt married the actress Richa Sharma in 1987. On 21 October 2010, he became a father to twins, a boy named Shahraan and a girl named Iqra. He is well known for several altercations with the law, along with many other controversies throughout his life, as well as drug addiction in his early years.[citation needed] He spent 5 months in prison in late 1982 after being caught in possession of illegal substances, upon his release he spent 2 years in the United States, the majority of which was spent in a Texan rehab clinic before returning to India and resuming his career.

Janki Kapoor (Nutan) and her two sons (Ravi Kapoor and Vicky Kapoor) come from a poor middle class family, and have difficulties making ends meet. To add to this burden, the family has to content with the waywardness of Vicky Kapoor, who is always getting into trouble with the law, and getting into fights. Vicky is determined to get a job overseas Dubai, United Arab Emirates, as he has heard of thousands of Indians making a successful living there. Ravi arranges for his visa and the money to go to Dubai. Once in Dubai, the Kapoors receive no word from him, and eventually give up on him. Vicky has encountered problems in Dubai, as he was cheated out of a job, as he had obtained a visa under false pretences. In order to remain in Dubai, he must work for an international and ruthless smuggler named Rana (Paresh Rawal), and must earn his keep or be turned over to the authorities. Naam is a family drama, featuring Nutan, Sanjay Dutt, Poonam Dhillon, Amrita Singh, Paresh Rawal and Kumar Gaurav.The film is very famous for its soundrack namely, Chitti Aayi Hai sung by Pankaj Udhas one of the famous gazal singers of India as well as being director Mahesh Bhatt's breakthrough film. Naam went on to acquire Blockbuster status at the Indian box office, in its 34th week it was still running at 60-70 percent collections at over 150 cinema's in india alone collecting 6.75 cr indian rupees by the end of its theatrical run. The film was designhed as a re-launch for Kumar Gaurav produced by his famous actor father but instead went on to be regarded as a comeback vehicle for brother-in-law Sanjay Dutt who's performance was applouded by audiences and critics alike.
Synopsis[link]
Janki Kapoor (Nutan) and her two sons Ravi Kapoor (Kumar Gaurav) and Vicky Kapoor (Sanjay Dutt) come from a poor family, and have difficulties making ends meet. To add to this burden, the family has to content with the waywardness of Vicky Kapoor, who is always getting into trouble with the law. Vicky is determined to get a job in Dubai as he has heard of thousands of Indians making a successful living there. Ravi arranges for his visa and the money to go to Dubai. Once in Dubai, the Kapoors receive no word from him, and eventually give up on him. Vicky has encountered problems in Dubai, as he was cheated out of a job and his visa was obtained fraudulently. In order to remain in Dubai, he must work for ruthless international smuggler Rana (Paresh Rawal), and must earn his keep or be turned over to the authorities.
