Trump is the son of Fred Trump, a wealthy New York City real-estate developer. He worked for his father's firm, Elizabeth Trump & Son, while attending the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and in 1968 officially joined the company. He was given control of the company in 1971 and renamed it The Trump Organization.
In 2010, Trump expressed an interest in becoming a candidate for President of the United States in the 2012 election. In May 2011, he announced he would not be a candidate, but a few weeks later he said he had not completely ruled out the possibility. In December 2011, Trump was suggested as a possible Vice Presidential selection by Michele Bachmann. Bachmann has since suspended her presidential campaign.
Trump arremetió con Univision y el New York Time y le puso nombre al puente fronterizo que piensa construir.

Donald Trump Interview With CNN Chris Cuomo | Donald Trump Surges To 32% Support In CNN/ORC poll
Donald Trump fired back at GOP rival Ben Carson on Thursday, blasting him for questioning his religious faith and remarking that the retired neurosurgeon was "perhaps an OK doctor" and made Jeb Bush, whom he has criticized as "low-energy," look like the "Energizer Bunny" by comparison.
"I don't know Ben Carson. He was a doctor, perhaps an OK doctor," Trump said during an interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo on "New Day."
Carson, he said, is "not a great religious figure."
"Frankly, he makes Jeb Bush look like the Energizer Bunny," Trump added, taking a shot at Carson's calm, measured delivery.
Trump told Cuomo to look at Carson's history as a doctor.
Donald Trump Rips CNN’s Chris Cuomo: ‘What Are You Making a Statement or Asking a Question?’
“What are you making a statement or asking a question?” the GOP frontrunner said to Cuomo on “New Day” during a series of exchanges on the nuclear deal. When the subject turned to Dr. Ben Carson, Trump went at Cuomo again.
“I’m a believer, perhaps you’re not, maybe that’s why your show isn’t doing as well as it should be,” he said.
On Iran, Trump said: “We look like a bunch of beggars, we were begging for this deal.” He also defended himself against charges that he criticized Carly Fiorina’s looks in a Rolling Stone profile, where he said: “Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?!”
“I’m not talking about looks, I’m talking about persona,” he said, adding that Fiorina ran Hewlett Packard into the ground as CEO.
Trump also slammed Dr. Ben Carson–who’s in second place behind him–saying his subdued tone makes Jeb Bush “look like the energizer bunny.”
In a new CNN/ORC poll out Thursday, Trump drew 32 percent, Carson came in second at 19 percent and Jeb Bush ranked third with nine percent.
In the latest case of the Donald being the Donald, he challenged CNN president Jeff Zucker on Wednesday to give “massive profits” from its upcoming GOP debate to American veterans. No comment from CNN thus far.
Donald Trump has become the first Republican presidential candidate to top 30% support in the race for the Republican nomination, according to a new CNN/ORC Poll, which finds the businessman pulling well away from the rest of the GOP field.
Trump gained 8 points since August to land at 32% support, and has nearly tripled his support since just after he launched his campaign in June. The new poll finds former neurosurgeon Ben Carson rising 10 points to land in second place with 19%. Together, these two non-politicians now hold the support of a majority of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents, and separately, both are significantly ahead of all other competitors.
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush stands in third place with 9%, down 4 points since August, and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz holds fourth place with 7%. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker follow at 5%, with all other candidates at 3% or less, including Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who notched the only other statistically significant shift in the poll by falling 5 points since August.

Trump's gains come most notably among two groups that had proven challenging for him in the early stages of his campaign -- women and those with college degrees. While he gained just 4 points among men in the last month (from 27% in August to 31% now), he's up 13 points among women, rising from 20% in August to 33% now. Trump has also boosted his share of the vote among college graduates, increasing his support among those with degrees from 16% in August to 28% now. Among those without degrees, he stands at 33%, just slightly higher than the 28% support he had in August.
Trump has also catapulted ahead of the rest of the field among Republicans who back the tea party movement, from 27% support in August to 41% now. Among that group in the new poll, Carson follows with 21%, and Cruz, another candidate with an anti-Washington message, holds third with 11%. No other candidate tops 5% among tea partiers.
Carson's gains, meanwhile, have come chiefly among core partisans -- he's up 13 points among Republicans and 11 points among conservatives -- and he runs closest to Trump among white evangelicals (32% back Trump, 28% Carson), a key voting bloc within the Republican primary electorate.
Carson also has enthusiasm at his side. Republicans are more than twice as likely to say they would be enthusiastic with Carson at the top of the ticket than if Rubio, Cruz, Walker or Bush led the GOP into 2016, and while he and Trump are about even in enthusiasm (43% would be enthusiastic if Carson got the nod, 40% if Trump did), fewer say they would be disappointed if Carson emerged the victor (20% would be dissatisfied or upset if Carson won, 32% if Trump did).

Bill O'Reilly Donald Trump Interview. Trump Slams GOP Field: I Don't Have a Lot of Respect for ...
bill o'reilly speaks to donald trump on him running for president. tonight in an O'Reilly Factor exclusive, Trump explains why he's the one Americans should trust to right the ship. Billionaire Donald Trump announced today that he's throwing his hat in the ring to run for president. O’Reilly Factor will feature an extensive interview with Trump that is expected to cover a wide variety of topics. And, according to some advance excerpts provided by Fox, Trump is holding nothing back. Trump has nothing nice to say about any of his fellow 2016 candidates, whether they are on the left or right side of the political spectrum.
“Well I don’t have a lot of respect for many of them, but yes I do a couple,” Trump said of the 2016 field, without naming any names. “But I will tell you I’ve been dealing with politicians all my life. They are all talk, no action.” Trump sat down with Bill O'Reilly for his first post-announcement interview and discussed a variety of topics, including how he would defeat ISIS.
"I would find our proper general. I would find the Patton or the MacArthur," Trump said. "I would hit them so hard your head would spin."
Trump also weighed in on the Iran nuclear talks and asserted that the biggest problem the world faces right now is maniacs controlling nuclear weapons.
"Obama wants to play golf instead of deal with people," Trump said. "Part of being a leader is to get everybody in line."
What would you do about Vladimir Putin? O'Reilly asked.
"I would be willing to bet I would have a great relationship with Putin," Trump said, adding that the Russian president has no respect for Obama. "You can't have everybody hating you. The whole world hates us."
O'Reilly noted that during his announcement, Trump promised to build a wall along the southern border and make Mexico pay for it. "The Factor" host stated that there's no way that they will pay for it.
"You have to let me handle that," Trump said. "They will pay for the wall, and the wall will go up. And Mexico will start behaving. Mexico is not our friend."
As for his fellow GOP presidential candidates, Trump said, "I don't have a lot of respect for many of them."
"They're all talk. They're no action. And they're totally controlled by their donors and by the lobbyists ... If we have another politician, this country's going down."
Stay tuned for the video.
On Jeb Bush specifically, Trump added, “I’m not a big fan of Jeb Bush. The last thing we need is another Bush.”
As for Hillary Clinton, Trump said he laughs when he sees her talk about income inequality. “That can be beaten. That can be beaten. All you have to do is take a look at her donor list,” he said, admitting that he could lose the general election for attacking her as a woman. “Maybe I don’t win for that reason,” he said. “But maybe I do.”
But while Trump had plenty of negative things to say about the Americans he is running against, he was surprisingly genial on the topic of Russia President Vladimir Putin.
“Putin has no respect for our president whatsoever. He’s got a tremendous popularity in Russia, they love what he’s doing, they love what he represents,” Trump said. “I was over in Moscow two years ago and I will tell you – you can get along with those people and get along with them well. You can make deals with those people. Obama can’t.”
“I would be willing to bet I would have a great relationship with Putin,” he added. “It’s about leadership.”
Finally, Trump laid out his unique plan to defeat ISIS. “I say that you can defeat ISIS by taking their wealth,” he said. “Take back the oil. Once you go over and take back that oil they have nothing. You bomb the hell out of them and then you encircle it, and then you go in. And you let Mobil go in, and you let our great oil companies go in. Once you take that oil they have nothing left.”
“I would hit them so hard,” he continued. “I would find you a proper general, I would find the Patton or MacArthur I would hit them so hard your head would spin.”
“There’s nobody bigger or better at the military than I am,” Trump declared with typical understatement.
We will post the full video of O’Reilly’s interview with Trump as soon as it becomes available.

Donald Trump on The View FULL Interview - 9/10/15 - ABC
Donald Trump joins Morning Joe to discuss Should US take refugees? Trump: 'Possibly yes' Donald Trump discusses the refugee crisis happening in Europe and if the U.S. should take in some of the refugees who have fled Syria, Iraq and other areas. his campaign and why he won't break a pledge he signed to strike out as a third party candidate. Trump: I don't know if I'd pick Jeb for VP mate Donald Trump says it's too soon for him to consider who he would pick for a VP running mate. Trump: Iran deal horrible, but I can make it good Donald Trump discusses how he would work with the U.S-Iran nuclear deal if he were president. After an embarrassing foreign policy interview with talk radio show host Hugh Hewitt, presidential candidate Donald Trump lashed out on MSNBC’s Morning Joe at the “third-rate radio announcer” for asking him gotcha questions. “When you say Kurds vs. Quds, I thought he said ‘Kurds,’ this third-rate radio show announcer that I did his show,” he said. “And it was like ‘got you, got you, got you,’ and every question is do I know this one, and that one. You know he worked hard on that.” “I thought he said Kurds,” Trump repeated. “I do think the Kurds are not being utilized properly and not being treated properly by us. Hewitt (who, awkwardly enough, will partner with CNN to moderate the second Republican debate) is among good company. Other conservative media figures attacked by Trump include Jonah Goldberg, Charles Krauthammer, Megyn Kelly, and George Will.
Donald Trump on Friday broke away from stances held by many of his rivals on issues ranging from the Iran nuclear deal to the gay marriage fight in Kentucky.
Trump’s statements in a lengthy interview on MSNBC came one day after signing the party’s loyalty pledge.
He called the Iran nuclear agreement “a disastrous deal” and “a horrible contract,” but said he would work with it.
Many of the 16 other Republicans seeking the party’s nomination for the 2016 presidential election have vowed to immediately undo the Obama administration’s agreement if they win office. But Trump, a wealthy businessman, reiterated his view that too much money was at stake and his rivals were wrong to say they would rip it up.
“This is the perfect example of taking over a bad contract,” he said, adding that he would be tough in enforcing it.
Closer to home, Trump also eschewed rivals on the Kentucky battle over gay marriage. Some Republicans loudly backed Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis, who opted for jail time rather than issue any marriage licenses following the U.S. Supreme Court’s June ruling in support of gay marriage.
“We are a nation of laws,” Trump said. “The decision’s been made, and that’s the law of the land.”
Davis could authorize her deputies to sign the paperwork instead, he said. Early on Friday, her office began issuing licenses.
On Thursday, Trump signed a loyalty pledge from the head of the Republican National Committee and, after weeks of flirting with the idea, vowed to not to launch a third-party candidacy .
“I’m not taking anything for granted,” he told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program, acknowledging the wide Republican field. “I understand … it is a marathon.”
On the European refugee crisis, Trump said that while the United States has its own border and immigration issues to grapple with, the situation was horrible. Few Republican presidential candidates have spoken out on the crisis, and even the White House has acknowledged it without announcing any action.
Asked whether the United States should accept more refugees fleeing violence in the Middle East, Trump said: “Possibly yes” but added that there were limited U.S. options to help.
On that point, he and other Republicans agree.
“We have our own problems; we have so many problems to solve,” he said. “Our country is broken.”

Bill O'Reilly Donald Trump Face Off on Kim Davis, Abortion & #BlackLivesMatter
DonaldTrump joins biull o'reilly on the factor to discuss kim davis. trump tells bill o'reilly that the black lives matter movement is looking for trouble.: Donald Trump made his big return to Fox News after a rare two-week absence Tuesday night with an interview at the top of The O’Reilly Factor. Host Bill O’Reilly began with the Syrian migrant crisis. Asked if he would allow Syrian refugees to enter the United States, Trump replied, “I hate the concept of it, but on a humanitarian basis of what’s happening, you have to.” The GOP frontrunner then pivoted to blame President Barack Obama’s foreign policy for the entire situation. Next up was Kim Davis, the Kentucky clerk who was released from jail today following her refusal to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. “It was too bad that she had to be put in jail and I’m a very, very strong believer in Christianity and religion,” Trump said, “but I will say that this was not the right job for her.” Moving on to one of O’Reilly’s favorite topics, the Black Lives Matter movement, Trump was quick to declare, “All lives matter.” This gave O’Reilly the chance to confront Trump about his stance on abortion. If “all lives matter,” then the host wanted to know why Trump has opposed cutting off funding to Planned Parenthood. “I’m not supporting Planned Parenthood,” Trump stated. “Somebody said I was supporting Planned Parenthood.” He insisted that he would cut off government funding for the women’s health organization, adding, “I don’t know where you got this information, I never said that.”
“You read a wrong report, Bill. You have bad researchers, what can I tell,” he continued. “A lot of people say it’s an abortion clinic. I’m opposed to that. And I wouldn’t do any funding as long as they are performing abortions. And they are performing abortions. So I would be opposed to funding — I would be totally opposed to funding.”
It was just a few weeks ago, on Fox News’ Hannity, that Trump said abortion is only a “fairly small part of what they do” and stressed that “we have to look at the positive also for Planned Parenthood.” In response, the organization put out a statement that praised Trump for rejecting the “extreme positions” held by other members of the Republican Party.
Watch video below, via Fox News: If I win, you won't see deals like @TheIranDeal. That's what I do in life. Trump: The Iran deal is incomprehensible. It should never have been made. Trump: We're getting nothing from @TheIranDeal. It's an embarrassment to our country. DonaldTrump: The Iran deal is one of the most incompetently-drawn contracts. Trump: I would cut off funding to #PlannedParenthood.
Trump: All lives matter should be the theme of our country.
Donald Trump: The #BlackLivesMatter movement is looking for trouble. Trump: This was not the right job for #KimDavis. You have to do what the SCOTUS says, whether you agree with it or not. Donald Trump, who will attend a rally tomorrow to oppose the nuclear agreement with Iran, told Bill O'Reilly tonight that the deal is one of the most incompetently drawn contracts he's ever seen. Trump said the U.S. should have doubled down on the sanctions on Iran, in order to negotiate from a position of strength and strike a much better, stronger deal. "We're getting nothing from this deal," Trump stated. "It's absolutely a disgraceful deal. It's an embarrassment to our country." He added that Iran should have released the five Americans detained in their country before negotiations even started, as a sign of good faith. "This deal is incomprehensible. It should have never been made," Trump said, promising that if he's elected president, he will renegotiate the agreement and make it much better for the U.S. and our allies. "That deal is a disgrace. It should have never been allowed. And how Obama got away with it is beyond anybody's comprehension."

Donald Trump Media Buzz FULL Interview. Trump 'I Can Never Apologize for the Truth'
Donald Trump hit back at his critics on "Media Buzz" today, saying that he "can't apologize" for making truthful statements about illegal immigrants and Mexico. Howard Kurtz asked the 2016 presidential candidate if he will apologize for the controversial statements he made about illegal immigrants and Mexico.
"I don't have to say that," Trump replied. "In terms of the border, it's a disgrace. Either we have a border or we don't have a country."
"I can never apologize for the truth, I don't mind apologizing for things, but I can't apologize for the truth," he added. "I said tremendous crime is coming across, everybody knows that's true, and it's happening all the time." Trump proclaimed that he's not a racist.
"I'm number two and I'm going up, people take me very seriously," Trump stated. "Frankly, I'm the one that's going to bring back health to the country. I'm going to make America great again; politicians aren't going to do that."
Trump said that he thinks his poll numbers will increase, because some Americans agree with his stance on immigration.

Donald Trump Interview CNN FULL Chris Cuomo Donald Trump takes on Clinton, Bush and the Pope
'Donald Trump Interview CNN'' Donald Trump Interview Chris Cuomo' 'Donald Trump CNN Interview' CNN Chris Cuomo takes on Clinton, Bush and the Pope Donald Trump Interview on CNN Donald Trump takes on Clinton, Bush and the Pope CNN Special Report: The Donald Trump interview" at 9 p.m. ET for CNN's Chris Cuomo's full sit-down interview with Republican frontrunner Donald Trump.
New York (CNN)Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump took on an array of subjects and political figures during a lengthy interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo on Wednesday, including Hillary Clinton, Jeb Bush, Pope Francis and even Caroline Kennedy.
Asked first about his standing in a recent CNN/ORC poll, Trump said the controversy surrounding Hillary Clinton's email use is "devastating," and that it's not surprising that he came within 6 points of the Democrat in a head-to-head polling match-up.
"I think it's devastating for the election, but I think her bigger problem is not the election. I think her bigger problem is going to be the criminal (problem)," Trump said. Immigration
Trump isn't backing down from his call to revoke automatic citizenship for children born in the U.S. to undocumented immigrant parents despite concerns he'll turn Hispanic voters off to the GOP.
"I have to do the right thing," the mogul said in an interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo Wednesday, when asked about his immigration plan being under fire.
Trump has called for building a wall along the border with Mexico, revoking the right to citizenship to children born the U.S. if their parents aren't documented, and for deporting undocumented immigrants and then allowing "good ones" to re-enter the country.
He has been hit with criticism from some Republicans while taking and heavy fire from the left.
He even took flak as he sat down for the interview with CNN in Trump Tower, when an onlooker in the lobby of the building shouted: "You will never win the Latino vote. The Latino (voters) don't like you."
RELATED: Trump's immigration plan: the specifics
Trump didn't respond to the heckler, and after the interview finished taping, two people watching from the crowd told Trump they were Mexican-American and would gladly support him, which he relayed to Cuomo.
"You know, this country is so politically correct. Nobody wants to take a stance on anything," Trump told Cuomo. "Now they like to use the word undocumented because it's more political -- I don't use that word. They're illegal immigrants. They came over illegally. Some are wonderful people, and they've been here for a while. They've got to go out. They've got to leave."
He did say there were "a lot of good ones" among immigrants, and that he would try to bring them back.
"These people -- the really good ones, and we have some great ones -- we're going to try and expedite so they can come back," he said. "But they're going to come back legally."
RELATED: Trump's immigration plan: the specifics
The candidate also reiterated that he believes in changing birthright citizenship -- which grants automatic citizenship to all children born in the U.S. -- though he said he wouldn't need to amend the Constitution to do it.
"No. 1, the 14th Amendment is very questionable as to whether or not somebody can come over, have a baby and immediately that baby is a citizen. OK?" Trump said. "Amending is too big a deal. It's going to take -- it'll be two terms. I'd be in my second term or my eighth year by the time -- assuming everything went smoothly. ... I believe you can win it legally."
He said people can't be allowed to just "walk over" the border to give birth.
"You have people on the border and in one day they walk over, have a baby. And now all of a sudden we're supposed to pay the baby ... medical, Social Security," Trump said.
Clinton email scandal
While he said Clinton is not his "focus right now," he predicted she would struggle to get over the bad headlines generated by the investigation into her private server and the possible transmission of classified information in her private email, as well as the money she has raked in for speeches since leaving office.
"I think that Hillary's going to have a hard time being in the election based on what's going on with the emails, the servers, maybe even the speeches," Trump said. "I think it's going to be a very hard thing for her to overcome."

On Saudi Arabia “Saudi Arabia makes a billion dollars a day, okay? They make a billion dollars a day. Saudi Arabia, if it weren’t for us, they wouldn’t be there. They wouldn’t exist. They should pay us. It’s like Kuwait. When Kuwait had the problem with Saddam Hussein, like, the ultimate problem, they were taken over, we go in. We fight.” On whether Ukraine should join NATO “I would not care that much to be honest with you. Whether it goes in or doesn’t go in, I wouldn’t care.” On the Iran deal “They are going to have nuclear weapons. They are going to take over parts of the world that you wouldn’t believe. And I think it’s going to lead to nuclear holocaust. And I will say this. The people that negotiated that deal, namely Kerry and his friends, are incompetent.”
On Obama’s birth certificate “Well, I don’t like talking about it anymore. Because honestly I have my own feelings. I think he should have taken the $5 million. I don’t know why he spent $4 million in legal fees to keep his records, you know, away. Nobody’s seen his records. I don’t know. Maybe the hackers. Maybe the hackers have his records. No, I mean, his college records. I mean, he spent $4 million in legal fees to make sure that nobody ever saw [them].”

He’s like a puppet for those people. He’s a puppet. Those people, they’ll take negative ads on me and on other people because they want him in there because they’re going to control Jeb Bush.” Watch, via NBC. Donald Trump compared Hillary Clinton’s controversy in an exclusive interview with NBC’s Meet the Press, Donald Trump said that he would rescind President Barack Obama’s executive order granting quasi-legal status to people who entered the country illegally as children, saying they’d all have to go. “The executive order gets rescinded,” Trump said to chuck todd “You’ll rescind that one, too? You’ll rescind the Dream Act executive order, the DACA?” asked host Chuck Todd. “We’re going to have to,” Trump said. “We have to make a whole new set of standards.” “So you’re going to split up families? You’re going to deport children?” asked Todd. “We’re going to keep the families together. We have to keep the families together, but they have to go. They have to go” he said. “What if they have no place to go?” Todd asked. “We will work with them,” Trump said. “They have to go, Chuck.
READ: The complete CNN/ORC poll results
Republicans are more than twice as likely to say they would be enthusiastic with Carson at the top of the ticket than if Rubio, Cruz, Walker or Bush led the GOP into 2016, and while he and Trump are about even in enthusiasm (43% would be enthusiastic if Carson got the nod, 40% if Trump did), fewer say they would be disappointed if Carson emerged the victor (20% would be dissatisfied or upset if Carson won, 32% if Trump did).

bill o'reilly speaks to donald trump on him running for president. tonight in an O'Reilly Factor exclusive, Trump explains why he's the one Americans should trust to right the ship.
[Photo via screengrab] In his announcement he said the other Republican candidates don't have what it takes to solve the problems facing the nation.
