A Walk Into Town - Worksop in North Nottinghamshire.
www.benwaysworld.co.uk -------------------------- I took an old camera with me on my walk into town today, and shot some of the sites on the way. The image quality is very rough, as it's a very old digital stills camera. I didn't want to take my usual camera, as it's a bit big, not at all suitable for shooting unobtrusively, and would have drawn unwanted attention. Despite the low resolution and frame rate, I rather like the feel of the footage... like something from an old 70s home move, shot with 8mm film or something. I was initially going to add commentary, but even though I've ;ived here for nearly 5 years, I don't know most fo the street names, and virtually none of the history, so it would have been fairly pointless. The music is all royalty free and comes from http

Worksop Town 2-3 FC United. 19 Nov 2011.
It was FCs fourth away game with the Tigers, but the first at their regained Sandy Lane ground. The reds made the better of the first half and Nicky Platt made sure those chances counted just before the half-hour mark, when pouncing on an opening, right on the goal line. Lee Neville made it two nil 10 minutes later from a corner and the match was looking easy for Margy's men. Worksop were much the better team in the second half and deserved their equaliser from Massiah Mcdonald after Mark Hudson had earlier got them back in the game. The red army got an immediate response from their players though with an Astley Mulholland cross being knocked in off the shin of Luke Shields to preserve FCs recent unbeaten run.

Buxton 1 Worksop 3- 23.11.11
Buxton 1 Worksop 3- 23.11.11
From Buxton FC web site: Bucks again undone by late goals as Worksop complete league double. Manager Scott Maxfield made just one change from the team that drew with Chasetown on Saturday with Martin Pembleton in for David Taylor and Louis Horne returned to the bench. The Bucks got off to a strong start against an improving Worksop side with Mark Reed causing problems and it was the popular forward who opened the scoring with a delightful lob over Tigers 'keeper Worsnop on just 7 minutes. The Bucks had further chances but the tide swung on 25 minutes with Michael Towey going off with a suspected hamstring injury and just 9 minutes later the scores were level with Mark Hudson netting from the spot. There was a further blow for the Bucks on 50 minutes when Pembleton had to be stretchered off with an ankle problem and it seemed only a matter of time before the visitors took the lead with their increased possession. They had to wait until the 82nd minute though with Jamie Jackson netting from close range and substitute Luke Sharry made it three just 4 minutes from time with a shot from 15 yards into the top right corner of Hartley's net.
