The difficulty for subducted oceanic crust to accumulate at the core-mantle boundary
The results of our numerical melding shows that, under present-day Earth-like conditions, it is difficult for the subducted oceanic crust to accumulate into large thermochemical piles at the core-mantle boundary. The three panels are temperature, viscosity and composition respectively. We see that the major parts of the subducted oceanic crust are carried up by upwelling plumes and mixed with ambient mantle, instead of settle at the core-mantle boundary.

Interaction between subducted oceanic crust and primordial reservoir at the lower mantle
We find that oceanic crust subducted to the lowermost mantle is viscously dragged toward upwelling regions, where primordial reservoirs are hypothesized to exist. While most oceanic crust avoids interaction with a reservoir itself and is entrained into thermal plumes that form along the tops of reservoirs, some crust accumulates at the base of the plumes, along reservoir tops. Eventually the volume of accumulated crust at the base of a plume gains enough negative buoyancy such that it is flushed into the reservoir below, through the reservoir's top margin. These three panels are temperature, viscosity and composition (blue for primordial reservoir and yellow for oceanic crust).

Crust Rolls Up-Tsunami Song
Crust Rolls Up-Tsunami Song. Here is a video I created for my 6th grade science students to help them study.I hope you enjoy. Crust rolls up Crust rolls up Crust rolls up Tsunamis crust rolls up Crust rolls up Crust rolls up Pressure building in the ocean And the plates ain't acting right So the oceanic crust is pushing up the continental, which is called a fault line I'll tell you one thing straight a sudden ping up of the crust Tsunami When ocean crust does subduct under the land it might break free And land crust rises up in a quick burst of energy When continental crust will go up water is displaced In the middle of the ocean there is a great big wave Moving out in all directions from the earthquake Rising of an earth plate Will make a Tsunami Rising water is crazy; it'll be here shortly It moves like a freight train without any mercy Eroding the coastline, and washing lives away Not just a wave, or just a tide May take weeks for water to subside If it comes your way, no way to hold up Tsunamis are caused when the crust rolls up, crust rolls up, crust rolls up, As water comes in then it slows up, it slows up, it slows up, When it reaches shore then it grows up Tsunamis have great energy And great erosion potential And if it's hittin' it be undermining trees strippin' all the beaches gonna catch up to us All that sand surrounding us It can be rising up to 30 meters high And it's rolling hundreds of meters inland, crushing homes and coastal structures Don't wanna ride ...

Seafloor Spreading
This simulation shows seafloor spreading from 140 million years ago to the present. Colors indicate how long ago that piece of ocean floor was created, with red representing new oceanic crust, and blue/purple representing oceanic crust created 150 to 200 million years ago. The hemisphere on the left shows the Indian Ocean opening up, with new oceanic crust being formed (red). In contrast, the hemisphere on the right shows the closing of the Pacific Ocean. Note how in this area, the formation of new oceanic crust does not keep up with its loss by subduction under the America's. At the end of the video, the black dots indicate the locations of earthquakes - they form an outline of the tectonic plates. LIFE OF THE OCEAN - Enya
Life of the Ocean a trip completely surrounded by ocean sea creatures along with beautiful music by Enya. Discover the vastness of the ocean as you go on this jouney within this video. "Though generally described as several 'separate' oceans, these waters comprise one global, interconnected body of salt water often referred to as the World Ocean or global ocean.[2][3] This concept of a continuous body of water with relatively free interchange among its parts is of fundamental importance to oceanography.[4] The major oceanic divisions are defined in part by the continents, various archipelagos, and other criteria. These divisions are (in descending order of size): Pacific Ocean, which separates Asia and Australia from the Americas Atlantic Ocean, which separates the Americas from Eurasia and Africa Indian Ocean, which washes upon southern Asia and separates Africa and Australia Southern Ocean, sometimes subsumed as the southern portions of the Pacific, Atlantic, and Indian Oceans, which encircles Antarctica and covers much of the Antarctic Arctic Ocean, sometimes considered a sea of the Atlantic, which covers much of the Arctic and washes upon northern North America and Eurasia The Pacific and Atlantic may be further subdivided by the equator into northern and southern portions. Smaller regions of the oceans are called seas, gulfs, bays, straits and other names. Geologically, an ocean is an area of oceanic crust covered by water. Oceanic crust is the thin layer of ...

Evolution: The Enemy of Truth and Science - Dr. Jay Wile Part 7 of 9
Q & A session continues with questions from the audience such as: "What about the fact that radiometric dating accurately shows oceanic crust increasing in age outward from mid-oceanic ridges?" "Discuss how mutations affect the process of evolution." "Did Darwin develop his theory of evolution because he thought there was no God?" [Dr. Wile's answer was "No"] "If the supercontinent Pangea existed in the past, wouldn't the continents still be moving?" "Aren't there species that are very similar to humans and wouldn't that imply similar ancestry?"
