Fratelli’s Authentic Italian Cuisine Restaurant at 10989 Northwest Freeway is ready for runners coming to Houston for the Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon. Owner and chef, Teresa Tadeo Wittman, has designed a Carb-Up Festival for Runners on Saturday, January 12, 2013.

On January 15, 2013, Mia Bella Trattoria in Sugar Land will celebrate their first anniversary by selling one of their most popular dishes, Mushroom Strudel, for only $3.65. Also on January 15, Latin Bites kicks off their series of monthly Chef Tasting menus created by Chef Roberto Castre. These six course offerings will come with an option of wine or cocktail pairing and are available from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Dinners are $60 per person and include six courses.
With seasonally inspired ingredients and special theme, Castre invites guests to explore the monthly menus while mingling with mixologists, winemakers and visiting chefs. January is also known for Super Bowl action and wouldn’t be complete without a little taste of football. Haven, located at 2502 Algerian Way, will be host to a special wine dinner on Thursday, January 24 with NFL Coach, Dick Vermeil and selected wines from his Napa Valley Vermeil Wines vineyards.
Chef/co-owner, Randy Evans, has created a five course dinner plus reception appetizers to pair with Vermeil’s wines. Beginning in January, four of Houston’s most in-demand food truck will dish out fast and casual gourmet eats at the Houston Pavilions at 1201 Fannin. This three city block span of food choices will have lunchtime offerings from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Downtown foodies can dive into savory selections from Monster PBJ on Mondays until 6 p.m., It’s A Wrap on Tuesdays, Refuel and Golden Grill on Wednesdays and Fridays. Ladybird will be in the area on Thursdays and Saturdays. Karen Mulville, general manager of Houston Pavilions, said the demand for relaxed lunchtime dining alternatives is on the rise. “Houstonians plan to test their taste buds, get healthier and try new things in 2013. There is no better time to bring daily food truck service to the Pavilions,” she said.
At Smashburger, original burger and craft beer pairings are ready to take on hungry diners at all their 12 Houston area locations. The new malted matches, starting at $8.68, are in collaboration with Saint Arnold Brewing Company and have been expertly matched by Smashburger founder, Tom Ryan and Saint Arnold founder/president, Brock Wagner.
