President al-Assad : Out of Womb of Pain, Hope Should Be Beget, form Bottom of Suffering Important Solutions Rise DAMASCUS, SANA_ President Bashar al-Assad said If pain is pervading like a dark cloud over the country, the emotional state only, with its sublimity, is not enough to compensate the loss of the loving ones or the restoration of security and peace to the country or providing bread, water, fuel and medicine nationwide. In his speech on the latest developments on Sunday, President al-Assad added that out of the womb of pain, hope should be beget and form the bottom of suffering the most important solutions rise, as the dark cloud in the sky conceals the sun light, but it also carries in its layers rain, purity and hope of welfare and offering. President al-Assad said "These feelings of agony, sadness, challenge and intention are huge energy that will not get Syria out of its crisis unless it turns this energy into a comprehensive national move that saves the homeland from the unprecedented campaign hatched against it," The President added " This national move is the only balm to the deep wounds which affected our society and were about to divide it as it is the only way that is able to keep Syria geographically and making it politically stronger. sana-syria.com

www.euronews.com The Central African Republic (CAR) has called for international help as it struggles to push back rebel forces that now control much of the country. President Francois Bozize has asked for military aid from Washington and Paris. His country was a French colony until 1960 and France has 250 troops stationed there. But French President Francois Hollande says he has no plans to intervene, explaining that his soldiers are in place only to protect French citizens living in the Central African Republic. A rebel coalition, named Seleka, launched its offensive against the government earlier this month. The insurgents now control the north and centre of the country and are edging closer to the capital Bangui. Seleka claims Bozize's government has not stuck to peace deals signed between 2007-2011. The ill-equipped state army has provided little challenge to the rebel forces. Find us on: Youtube bit.ly Facebook www.facebook.com Twitter twitter.com

www.euronews.com The Venezuelan government says President Chávez's scheduled swearing-in ceremony next week can be postponed, and he can still begin a new six-year term. The Vice President Nicolas Maduro justified the announcement by citing the constitution. It is seen as a clear indication that Chávez will be too ill to attend - and that no replacement or new election is being lined up. Amid the uncertainty over the state of his health and rumours that he may be dying from cancer, the opposition argues that if the president is still in hospital in Cuba on January 10 then he will effectively be giving up power. The government has admitted that Chávez has suffered complications following his fourth operation in 18 months, and a lung infection is causing breathing problems. But in an attempt to reassure worried Venezuelans, the vice president says there is no need to declare his "complete absence" from office, triggering a new election. Venezuelans are being called upon to celebrate "revolutionary unity" on Saturday, as the National Assembly votes on what is expected to be the formality of the speaker's re-election. The appeal comes from Diosdado Cabello, who has joined the vice president in accusing Western media of trying to destabilise the country.
