Crooks and Liars is an American blog founded by John Amato. Journalist Tina Dupuy is the managing editor. Along with John Amato, frequent contributors include Nicole Belle, Logan Murphy, Mike Finnigan, David Neiwert, SilentPatriot, Fran Langum^[1][2] Susie Madrak, Nonny Mouse, Kenneth Quinnell,^[3] and Howie Klein.

The blog first appeared on the Internet in August 2004. It was one of the first political blogs to feature vlogs (video blogs) causing Amato to be referred to as "The Vlogfather".^{[citation needed]}. The site contains an audio and video archive of various political events, television, and radio shows. Originally it only retransmitted audio and video of these events; however, in late 2005 it began to cover breaking news stories and distribute their own original audio interviews.

Along with a variety of clips from television news media, the site frequently features clips from cable programs such as The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Colbert Report, Hardball with Chris Matthews, The Rachel Maddow Show (TV series), and Countdown with Keith Olbermann.

Crooks and Liars received the "Best Video Blog" blog award at the Weblog Awards in 2006,^[4] and a "Best Weblog About Politics" at the 2008 Weblog Awards.^[5]

Time magazine listed Crooks and Liars as one of the 25 Best Blogs of 2009.^[6]

Tina Dupuy is a nationally syndicated op-ed columnist, freelance investigative journalist, comedian and on-air commentator. Dupuy is the managing editor for the blog Crooks and Liars. She’s a fill-in host at the online news program, The Young Turks and now has her own spin-off TYTNow. She freelances for Los Angeles Times, The Atlantic, Fast Company, LA Weekly, Newsday, Orange County Register and The Beast and is a frequent contributor to the LA Progressive, an online social justice magazine.. Her weekly op-ed column is nationally syndicated through Cagle Cartoons. She is the compiler of the Sarah Palin’s Enemies List. Dupuy's writing has also been published in books including a collection of short stories called What Was I Thinking? (St. Martin's Press, 2009) and the English text book Exploring Language 13th Edition (Longman, 2011).

After The Tampa Tribune used an article of Dupuy's without paying for it in 2009, she created a YouTube video to shame the paper into paying $75 for the piece.^[1][2][3]

Tina has spoken openly about being born in the cult The Children of God and subsequently being raised in foster care in California.
