A counter-revolutionary is anyone who opposes a revolution, particularly those who act after a revolution to try to overturn or reverse it, in full or in part. The adjective, "counter-revolutionary", pertains to movements that would restore the state of affairs, or the principles, that prevailed during a prerevolutionary era.
A counter-revolution can be positive or negative in its consequences; depending, in part, on the beneficent or pernicious character of the revolution that gets reversed. For example, the transitory success of Agis and Cleomenes of ancient Sparta in restoring the constitution of Lycurgus was considered by Plutarch to be counter-revolutionary in a positive sense. During the French Revolution the Jacobins saw the Counter-revolution in the Vendée as distinctly negative.
In some ways, the supporters of Jacobitism may be placed in this category. The Jacobites were supporters of the Stuart house's claim to the English throne since 1688. The Jacobites survive to this day in their support for the Stuart family's claim to the English throne.
Latin America is the group of territories and countries in the Americas where Romance languages are spoken. The term originated in 19th century France to include French-speaking territories in the Americas within the larger group of countries that speak Spanish and Portuguese. It is therefore marginally broader than the term Iberian America or Spanish America, though it excludes French-speaking Quebec. Latin America consists of twenty sovereign states and several territories and dependencies which cover an area that stretches from the southern border of the United States to the southern tip of South America, including the Caribbean. It has an area of approximately 19,197,000 km2 (7,412,000 sq mi), almost 13% of the earth's land surface area.
As of 2015, its population was estimated at more than 626 million and in 2014, Latin America had a combined nominal GDP of 5,573,397 million USD and a GDP PPP of 7,531,585 million USD. The term "Latin America" was first used in 1861 in La revue des races Latines, a magazine "dedicated to the cause of Pan-Latinism".
A look at the history in pictures of the epic French counterrevolution when royalist forces in the Vendee, Brittany, Maine and other areas rose up for God and King against the wicked forces of the revolution. They were ultimately unsuccessful and the republicans carried out a campaign of genocide throughout the region. However, Vendee uprisings played a key part in French history for a long time. It has been argued that Napoleon might not have been defeated at Waterloo had he not been forced to dispatch troops to put down another royalist rebellion in the Vendee. As late as the 1830's the region of western France was still fighting for the restoration of the true Kings of France.

Vintage interval signals from underground (pirate) radio stations believed to be from the USSR, China or from Western agencies. These stations came around the Sino-Soviet split period, with the detonation of China's first atomic weapon, the Cultural Revolution and later with the Chinese political reforms. They broadcast "black propaganda" that were subversive and openly hostile to the Chinese government and leaders. Radio programs usually only 10-15 minutes long believed to be coming somewhere in the mainland might have been transmitting from the South China sea by boat or in nearby Russia and Taiwan. Broadcasters are either political dissidents who escaped the purge, rightists, exiles, and disgruntled PLA officers. Some stations could have been Vietnamese operatives backed by the KGB, or ...
