MSX Longplay [004] Starfighters
www.longplays.org Played by Georgc3 Didn't know MSX had a laserdisc player add-on. This game is so interesting when I heard about it.I always thought this game based on the 1984 film The Last Starfighter but it's not especially when I think of the name Starfighter. The purpose of this game is to save the galaxy by destroying Orphe, a threat to the universe. Very good use of 3D animation and graphics for its time. Level 1- This 2D grid like level part is tough and simply didn't enjoy it. It plays too much like chess. To get past this level, you must move your ship (H symbol) to approach the Orphe (O symbol). It's not always at the same place and if it's too far, it can take a long time. I had to reset this game many times until I finally approached Orphe. You must move your ship towards the Orphe to advance to the next level and the weapons selection screen appears. The best way to pass this level is to follow tracks where the enemy ships are coming from. That will get you closer to the Orphe. A name and password appears is provided to you by the game for you to unlock doors. Be sure to write it down since you'll need it to access the mainframe. I reset the game many times after many failed attempts locating the Orphe otherwise it would have taken too long and too boring to watch. Level 2- This one is very easy. All you have to do is to avoid enemy ships coming from the Orphe. It will get harder if you attempt to shoot them down. Level 3 - This one you must locate the core ...

MSX Longplay [013] Vampire Killer
www.longplays.org Played by Valis77 Im sure this game runs at 50 fps originally but then again im nore sure myself. This is debatably the first Castlevania which is not, but rather a port of the nes with slight changes. It's a maze gamers....a hard playing maze. But i have to say this is more enjoyable ten the nes version.....yeah i said it!

Castlevania Video Marathon: Vampire Killer (MSX) (One life run)
When I first learned about VK, I am instantly become curious: "What kind of games is that? The game that supposedly started a legend?" In seacrh of answer I cam to the YouTube and was surprised by what I saw. VK didn't make any impression on me, unlike CV1. Too bright, too boring. Seemingly there were no dynamic and the the whole game was more of a quest with action being as a side dish. It is boring and very formualic. There is no random factor that made Castlevania very replayable and enjoyable game. If you have, say axe, in one candle, it always will be there. Enemies doesn't give random items, but only hearts. In general all this takes away form replayability of the VK. Once you know where to find this damned keys and what upgrades you should have for specific sections of the castle and bosses, the game becomes very simple and formulaic. You can (and actually should) complete this game with only single life. In case if you lose a life, you lose also all your previously collected upgrades, that pretty much a death sentence to the playetr, since having subwepaons and sometimes alternate weapons, is very crucial to the completion of the game. What could be really hard to adapt in the game is very strange hitboxes and occasinoal slowdowns. Simon strikes much faster with his whip and its hitbox is much smaller than in CV1. Combined together, those two factors, doesn't allow player to have a leasure time, when striking down foes. Only accurately adjusted strikes will allow ...

MSX - Metal Gear - part 01: Infiltration
This is the original (be it emulated) version of Metal Gear for the MSX computer, from 1987 by Konami. The game was first released in Japanese and followed by an English version. A lot of storytelling was killed during the translation though. The version I am playing is a supposedly more accurate translation of the Japanese version. It's the first time I played that translation, so I am just as curious. Here we see our hero Solid Snake covertly entering the enemy base to rescue co-agent Grey Fox and destroy the secret superweapon Metal Gear.
