The Best Motorcycle Roads - New York Route 51, NY 10 and Blue Ridge Road, Adirondack Park
A new series featuring some of the best motorcycle roads. This video, a la Dallas TV series intro, includes New York Route 51 riding north and south on the twisty section between Ilion and US 20 with some footage in the intro showing sections further south. NY Route 10 in Adirondack Park riding south with the Amish appearing south of the park. And Blue Ridge Road Scenic Byway aka Essex CR 84 also in Adirondack Park riding east coming across a bison farm. The video ends with a look back a year before, in 2009, when coming across wild bison in the Northwest Territories in northern Canada. Some wild turkey were also caught on camera on NY 51 and 10. More routes to be documented. Video taken using a GoPro HD HERO camera on a helmet mount on a Kawasaki ZX-9R. Music includes the Dallas TV series intro and Genesis Land of Confusion. Abandoned Rare Brick Road Alignment PA Route 51 Perryopolis Fayette County Pennsylvania
Here is a short section of pristine brick road alignment, built in the early 1920's that was the main road until the late 1940's, complete with stone curbing, representing the earliest in auto transportation roads. This is located in the town of Star Junction, an old coal and coke town near Perryopolis, Fayette County Pennsylvania. Why this section is brick and the rest of the road is original narrow concrete is a mystery. Brick was a common building material in western pennsylvania in the early part of the century, as many coal patch towns needed brick factories to make beehive coke ovens. This section smells of the early alignment of the famous US 66 highway from Chicago to LA. Enjoy it while you can--visit more fun stuff that is gone or almost gone at www.stuffthatsgone.com

Sheila Bair on the Consequences of ZIRP, Bank Bailouts, and a Post-Geithner Treasury!
check us out on Facebook www.facebook.com Follow us @ twitter.com twitter.com Welcome to Capital Account. Wall Street banks, including Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, are looking to help their foreign customers skirt new US regulations for over-the-counter derivatives. The banks found ways to route trades via non-US affiliates, exploiting the lack of a precise definition for what constitutes a "US person." Wall Street's attempts to circumvent regulations may not come as a surprise, but what is the antidote? We talk to Former FDIC chairwoman Sheila Bair about her experience as a regulator during the financial crisis. Plus, both the US and the EU have pushed back deadlines to implement the Basel III capital requirements; the Basel III framework more than triples core capital requirements for lenders. Our guest, Sheila Bair, spent much of her career at the FDIC fighting to increase capital requirements, and was critical of the Basel II framework, which let big banks evaluate their assets with their own internal risk models. Bair faced opposition from international regulators as well as the media: in 2006 The Economist wrote about the "Battle over Basel II," and after mentioning Sheila Bair, stated that American supervisors were "luddites." We ask Sheila Bair, author of Bull By the Horns, if there is any way to reform our banking system, which is built on credit and leverage, without causing a recession. We also ask Sheila Bair about the effects of the Dodd-Frank Wall ...

Driving Overseas Highway US 1 to Key West HD
Because of YouTube time allotment I pared the drive down to the more scenic views starting past Islamorada. The shades of green and blue water was incredible, I wish it came out in the video. There were also all kinds of birds about, some of which hovered on updrafts right next to the bridges. You can see some of the old Overseas Railroad and Highway still standing. It was a great drive and I felt a lot of emotions. I had driven over 5000 miles from Oregon to be at this spot and when I reached the end I could go no further. The song is "Sunlight" by Kevin Kendle

Alabama Back Roads - YouTube HD Travel
Basically the only thing I knew of Alabama was the turbulent past of the civil rights movement. We got off the main interstate and took some of the back roads and found a beautiful rural setting that is present in many southern states. A statement to how things are is a lack of fences and window bars. Still the state has a history that everyone should be aware of especially the young. Freedom and rights come with a price. The Selma to Montgomery marches were three marches in 1965 that marked the political and emotional peak of the American civil rights movement. They grew out of the voting rights movement in Selma, Alabama, launched by local African-Americans who formed the Dallas County Voters League (DCVL). In 1963, the DCVL and organizers from the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) began voter-registration work. When white resistance to Black voter registration proved intractable, the DCVL requested the assistance of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, who brought many prominent civil rights and civic leaders to support voting rights. The first march took place on March 7, 1965 — "Bloody Sunday" — when 600 civil rights marchers were attacked by state and local police with billy clubs and tear gas. The second march took place on March 9. Only the third march, which began on March 21 and lasted five days, made it to the state capital, Montgomery, 51 miles (82 km) away. The marchers averaged 10 miles (16 km) a day along ...

Area 51 Nevada
"Area 51" is a part of an off-limits military base near Groom Lake in Nevada. Groom lake isn't really a lake but a dry salt flat. UFOers are sure it is used to hide aliens from us. The state of Nevada recently designated a barren 98-mile stretch of Route 375, which runs near Area 51, as the Extraterrestrial Highway. Such a move is no doubt proof of a government attempt to throw us off the track and think there is not a cover-up when there is one. This is a cover-up of the cover-up, typical of government agencies when dealing with sensitive information regarding UFOs and aliens. Cast:Ian Whyte - Predator What the memo indicates is that there was a difference between the way the civilian agencies of the US government and the military agencies looked at their roles. NASA had ties to the military, but it was clearly a civilian agency. And although the reasons why NASA officials felt that the photo should be released are unknown, the most likely explanation is that NASA officials did not feel that the civilian agency should conceal any of its activities. Many of NASA's relations with other organizations and foreign governments were based on the assumption that NASA did not engage in spying and did not conceal its activities.

The REAL Loneliest Road! Strange Creepy Town Near Area 51 in Nevada Desert-USA Travel
I decided to finally take a remote back-road "trick route" I'd always wanted to try bypassing Tonopah on the way up from Las Vegas to Reno, Nevada. Wow, what a strange trip! A little single lane road in the middle of nowhere complete with a bizarre, sort of spooky and creepy (in a way), semi-ghost town! In over 2 hours of driving we saw not ONE other car...nor a single human being. Even when driving through the little town itself. Abandoned cars, trucks..even abandoned soda machines! But not a soul did we see! Haha..I thought being so close to area 51...maybe the aliens abducted everyone! ~Kenneth St. King
