Resistance is a series of first-person shooter and third-person shooter video games developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita video game consoles. The series takes place in an alternate history around the year 1950, in which an alien civilization known as the Chimera have invaded and conquered Earth, expanding their armies by capturing humans and transforming them into monster-like supersoldiers to fight for them. The player takes the role of one of the remaining human armed forces as they fight against the Chimera invasion. The series is noted for its use of both conventional and futuristic weaponry, reflecting Insomniac's previous work on the Ratchet & Clank series. All games in the series have all been rated M by the ESRB.
The characters and related events are described, below, using in-universe tone, so the fictional alien invasion during 1951 is treated as fact rather than fiction, likened to Orson Welles' broadcast of War of the Worlds.
Nathan Hale (June 6, 1755 – September 22, 1776) was an American soldier and spy for the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. He volunteered for an intelligence-gathering mission in New York City but was captured by the British and executed. His last words before being hanged were purported to be "I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country." Hale has long been considered an American hero and, in 1985, he was officially designated the state hero of Connecticut.
Nathan Hale was born in Coventry, Connecticut in 1755 to Richard Hale and Elizabeth Strong. In 1768, when he was fourteen years old, he was sent with his brother Enoch, who was sixteen, to Yale College. Nathan was a classmate of fellow patriot spy Benjamin Tallmadge. The Hale brothers belonged to the Yale literary fraternity Linonia, which debated topics in astronomy, mathematics, literature, and the ethics of slavery. Nathan graduated with first-class honors in 1773 at age 18 and became a teacher, first in East Haddam and later in New London.
A high school (also secondary school, senior school, secondary college) is a school that provides adolescents with part or all of their secondary education. It may come after primary school or middle school and be followed by higher education or vocational training.
The term "high school" originated in Scotland, with the world's oldest high school being Edinburgh's Royal High School from 1505. The Royal High School was used as a model for the first public high school in the United States, Boston Latin School founded in Boston, Massachusetts.
The precise stage of schooling provided by a high school differs from country to country, and may vary within the same jurisdiction. In all of New Zealand and Malaysia, along with most of Britain and parts of Australia, Bangladesh and Canada, high school means the same thing as secondary school, but instead of starting in 9th grade, these "secondary schools" begin at ages 11 or 12.
In Australia, high school is a secondary school, from Year 7 or Year 8 through to Year 12, varying from state to state. High school immediately follows primary (elementary) school; therefore, a Year-7 Australian high-school student is sometimes as young as 12. In Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory, the term "high school" generally refers to Years 7–10, whereas the term "College" is used for Years 11–12. In Victoria the term "secondary college" has largely replaced the term "high school" following the reforms of the Labor Government in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Some schools have retained the name "high school" (such as Melbourne High School) and many have now dropped the "secondary" and are simply known as "college".

Nathan Hale High School is a public high school in Seattle, Washington. Nathan Hale is part of Seattle Public Schools and is a member of the Coalition of Essential Schools.
The area northeast of Seattle, was part of the Shoreline School District until 1954. For a number of years that area had only one secondary school, Jane Addams. Steady population growth during the 1950s meant a new high school would soon be needed. In the planning stage, the school was given the temporary name of Northeast High School. This was later changed to Meadowbrook High School. The site for the new school, originally part of the Fisher Dairy, had most recently been the Meadowbrook Golf Course owned by the Tachell family. While the school was under construction, new guidelines and procedures for the naming of schools were adopted. As a result, the name Meadowbrook was replaced by Nathan Hale. Once built, the school building and parking lot were positioned on either side of Thornton Creek, which runs west to east through the property. The site is directly across the street from Jane Addams. Nathan Hale High School was one of several schools for which the Seattle Parks Department paid a portion of the building construction in exchange for title to adjacent land to be used for recreational facilities. The first principal, Claude Turner, helped design the school. In its first year, Hale opened to sophomores and juniors only, with just 1,206 students. Two years later, it had a student body of 2,002. By the late 1960s, Hale’s enrollment had reached 2,400, and 24 portables were in use.
With a week left for this season's Tulsa Tech Spirit Stick, Dave Davis visited Nathan Hale High School. Dave says while the Rangers are not fighting for a playoff spot, they still want an upset against Tulsa's Bishop Kelley High School
So far, no gun has been located after a student reportedly had one in his possession on a Tulsa Public Schools school bus.
Hale High School students went to the polls on election day to cast their votes on who they think should be the next president of the United States.

The new kitchen in Nathan Hale High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This kitchen has $1.4 million in it (in equiptment only) It has everything. Literally. We have can-openers that are a foot tall, and I'm not joking about any of this. The things I didn't know what did are vents for the stoves (duh!) and the other flat grill thing is a Griddle (I think). Other than that, I'm awesome, and everyone at Nathan Hale is awesome. And if you leave a comment, you're awesome. PS if you leave a bad comment, you're admitting that you are a flamer.

The second semifinal match-up of the 2016 DiscNW High School Boys Championship featured 2016 Seattle Public Schools champion Cleveland High School versus 2014 DiscNW champion Nathan Hale High School.
There are lots of strong high school girls teams in Seattle, but a couple of teams seem to be rising to the top in 2016. Nathan Hale High School leads the Seattle Public School League, while The Northwest School leads the Emerald City League. With both undefeated in league play to this point in the season, they met up for a highly anticipated (and well-attended) inter-league game that could be a preview of State and/or Westerns finals.
