On Thursday evening, November 4, 2010, Baytown police were dispatched to a call concerning a reckless driver who was traveling down Highway 146. The driver caused several near-miss accidents and almost hit two Baytown police officers when they attempted to stop him. The pursuit culminated in a three-vehicular major accident on top of the Cedar Bayour Bridge and invloved a Baytown police cruiser. The Baytown police officer and the driver of the pickup truck in our video were both taken by ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas. The reckless driver bailed from his vehicle after he wreckd it further down the road. The male escaped into a nearby wooded and police conducted an extensive search, including the support of a search helicopter. The male was still on the loose at the time of the posting of this story. Update (10/05/10): Officer Brian Griffin was treated for lacerations on his head and was released from the hospital; no update as of yet concerning the driver of the pickup in this story. The reckless driver in this story has not been apprehended.

Major
Major is a rank of commissioned officer, with corresponding ranks existing in almost every military in the world.
When used unhyphenated, in conjunction with no other indicator of rank, the term refers to the rank just senior to that of an Army captain and just below the rank of lieutenant colonel. It is considered the most junior of the field ranks. In some militaries, notably France, the rank is referred to as commandant, while in others it is known as "captain-major". It is also used in some police forces and other paramilitary rank structures.
When used in hyphenated or combined fashion, the term can also imply seniority at other levels of rank, including "general-major" or "major general", denoting a mid-level general officer, and "sergeant major", denoting the most senior NCO of a military unit.
It can also be used with a hyphen to denote the leader of a military band such as in pipe-major or drum-major.
