The Marquee was a music club first located at 165 Oxford Street, London, England when it opened in 1958 with a range of jazz and skiffle acts.

It was also the location of the first ever live performance by The Rolling Stones on 12 July 1962.^[1]

The 1960s: Rock Roots[link]

In 1964 the club moved a short distance to what became its most famous venue at 90 Wardour Street. Here, almost every major rock band of note played over the next 25 years on the tiny stage. Residencies during the late 1960s alone included Alexis Korner, Cyril Davies, Chris Barber, The Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin, The Who, King Crimson, Yes, Jethro Tull, The Jimi Hendrix Experience & Pink Floyd (who played on Sunday afternoons as part of the Spontaneous Underground club).^[2] To find out who was playing on any given night, you could just call in at the 'Ship' pub a few doors away.^{[citation needed]} In 1964 Moody Blues manager/producer Alex Murray used a homemade studio in the garage at the back of the club to produce the classic 'Go Now' single which shot to #1 at Christmas 1964 and film the first ever UK pop video promo. The development of Marquee Studios was largely financed by profits from this record.^{[citation needed]}

The Rolling Stones returned to the club 26 March 1971 after an eight year hiatus to film a television special.^{[citation needed]}

Club owner Harold Pendleton launched the National Jazz Festival in 1961 in Richmond. This was the precursor to the Reading and Leeds Festivals.^{[citation needed]}

The 1970s: The New Punk Order[link]

Although never a seminal punk venue, the Marquee nevertheless embraced the burgeoning punk rock movement of the late 1970s and regularly promoted punk and new wave nights into the 1980s. Bands such as The Boys, Eddie and the Hot Rods, The Stranglers, Generation X, London, The Police, skrewdriver, The Sinceros, Buzzcocks, The Jam, Joy Division, The Sound and The Cure all trod the famous Wardour Street stage. Mainstream rock acts like Dire Straits (in the first tour, July 5 and 6, 1978^[3]), Alexis Korner, Steve Hillage, Rory Gallagher. Racing Cars, The Enid, Hanoi Rocks and The Tyla Gang also appeared regularly at the venue.

The 1980s: New wave of British heavy metal and prog revival[link]

During the early to mid 1980s the Marquee became an important venue to the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM). Def Leppard played their first show on the Pyromania World Tour here, and included a different setlist from the rest of the shows on that tour. There was a glam revival spearheaded by Hanoi Rocks,The Babysitters and the Quireboys etc. NWOBHM bands such as Angel Witch, Diamond Head, Witchfynde and Praying Mantis were regulars and Iron Maiden were filmed playing there for LWT documentary 20th Century Box (introduced by a very young Danny Baker).

The Marquee was also the central venue of the progressive rock revival of the early 1980s. It was here that the then unsigned Marillion began to gain a wider fan base and press interest playing frequent two night residencies to a sold out crowd. Other neo-progressive rock acts of the time regularly headlining at the club included Twelfth Night, Solstice, and Pallas, often supported by acts such as Pendragon or IQ who would in later years become leading lights of the "neo-prog" scene. Other progressive bands regularly playing the Marquee at this time included Quasar, Haze, Cardiacs and Liaison (who were not strictly prog but seemed to become linked to the movement).

New wave and indie bands also appeared including "Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps Please" one-hit wonders Splodgenessabounds, and the almost-cult band The Hummers.

During this period The Club held heats and the final of Melody Makers 'band contests'.

'Secret' Gigs[link]

The historical importance of the club led to a number of bigger, established artists playing 'secret' gigs at the venue often as one-off 'fan thank yous', warm up shows or just because they liked the intimate atmosphere. These 'secret' shows were often promoted under an assumed name designed to be recognised only by hardcore fans. These included appearances by The Jam (under the name John's Boys), Marillion (under such names as Skyline Drifters and Lufthanser Air Terminal), Prince, Genesis, Iron Maiden (appearing as guests on a bill headed "A Fun Night With The Entire Population of Hackney"), Squeeze & Mötley Crüe (in the Charing Cross Road venue as The Four Skins - seen in the video of their cover version of "Anarchy in the UK", and to the derision of those who arrived at the venue expecting the skinhead band of the same name). The less-famous Glasgow indie guitar band Del Amitri poked fun at this tradition in 1985 by playing a gig at the Marquee with "Special Guests" 'Bob Dylan and the Libyans', who were Del Amitri in costume. The venue also prominently featured in the 1985 video for the Wham! single "I'm Your Man". Metallica played a secret gig 1990 supporting Metal Church on their Blessing in Disguise Tour. They performed as Vertigo, and Mike Howe (Metal Church vocalist) introduced them as a new band that had only played a couple of shows.

Current Developments[link]

In 1988, the Wardour Street site was sold for redevelopment (it is now Meza and Floridita with a cigar retail shop Spanish restaurant and Cuban restaurant and some flats) and the Marquee Club was forced to move again, this time to a larger venue at 105 Charing Cross Road. During this period, American progressive metal band Dream Theater recorded their first live album, Live at the Marquee, at the venue. This site was also subsequently bought for redevelopment and the club closed in 1996. A pub now occupies the building.

In 2001, the Marquee name was bought by entrepreneurs (including Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics who owned the brand rights) and affixed to a brand new club, located in a purpose-built space in Islington, now the Islington Academy. However, this hit financial difficulties and closed in 2003, less than a year after it had opened.

Under new owner Nathan Lowry, The Marquee reopened in 2004 in the heart of London's West End at 1 Leicester Square. The opening night was called the Breakthrough Weekender. The club successfully featured new and established bands during its time here, including Razorlight, The Feeling, The Magic Numbers and held events for Ozzy Osbourne, Snow Patrol, Billy Idol, Green Day, the BPI, Evening Standard, Metal Hammer, London Fashion Week, Kerrrang!, Capital Radio, Jimmy Carr’s Friday Night Special, BBC Radio 1, XFM, Sony, Fox Film and many more. During 2007, the club moved to smaller premises on Upper Saint Martins Lane in Covent Garden on a short-term lease before deciding to close as a venue on 10 February 2008.

The Marquee may have seemed dormant but it has remained ever popular with fans around the world, with record companies continuing to release live albums recorded there, with the BBC and TV companies worldwide who feature classic footage filmed during the 60's, 70's and 80's in their music documentaries and with the many artists that have played there who credit the venue as having helped launch their careers. Most recently, Phil Collin's no.1 album, 'Going Back' was partly influenced by the songs the young Collins saw performed at the Marquee, not least the sets by The Action.

In the background, the Marquee has been far from dormant. Since 2008, Lowry has been patiently rebuilding the Marquee archive, most of which was "lost" during the Wardour Street redevelopment. A cache of previously unseen and rare film footage recorded at the Marquee over a 30 year period was returned and has formed the basis of a documentary, currently in production featuring new interviews with many of the artists that played there, including a revealing and in-depth interview with Marquee founder Harold Pendleton.

While the opening of a new London venue is still to be announced, an exciting new chapter in the story of the Marquee is about to be written as the pilot for a new music TV series entitled 'Live From The Marquee' goes into development during Spring 2012. Kimberly Noel "Kim" Kardashian^[1] (born October 21, 1980^[2]) is an American socialite, celebutante, television personality, model, actress and businesswoman. She is known for starring in Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the E! reality series that she shares with her family, and its spin-offs including Kourtney and Kim Take New York.^[3]

Prior to the development of her career as a reality television star, Kardashian gained notoriety as the subject of a sex tape that subsequently resulted in a court awarding her $5 million. Kardashian was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of attorney Robert Kardashian and his wife Kris Kardashian (née Houghton). Her father was a third generation Armenian American, and her mother is of Dutch and Scottish descent.^[4] Kardashian has two sisters, Kourtney and Khloé, and one brother, Robert. She has stepbrothers Burton Jenner, Brandon Jenner, and reality TV star Brody Jenner, step-sister Casey Jenner, and half-sisters Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner.^[5] She attended Marymount High School.^[6]

In 2000, Kardashian married music producer Damon Thomas; their relationship ended in divorce in 2004. Subsequently she dated R&B singer Ray J, NFL star Reggie Bush^[7] and Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin.^[8] She also dated model Gabriel Aubry.^[9]

2003–07: Controversy and reality television[link]

In February 2007, a home sex video that she made with singer Ray J in 2003^[10] was leaked.^[11] Vivid Entertainment bought the rights for $1 million and released the film as Kim Kardashian: Superstar on February 21.^[11] Kardashian sued Vivid for ownership of the tape. In late April 2007, Kardashian dropped the suit and settled with Vivid Entertainment for $5 million.^[12]

Kardashian was a friend of Paris Hilton, who introduced her to the socialite scene.^[13] Her first acting role was in the television series Beyond the Break. In October 2007, along with her two sisters, mother, brother, half-sisters, and stepfather she starred in the E! television series, Keeping Up with the Kardashians. As of October 2011, the series has aired 69 episodes over six seasons.

2007–2010: Modeling and retail[link]

Kardashian co-owns a clothing boutique called D-A-S-H with her sisters Kourtney and Khloé.^[14] In December 2007, Kardashian posed nude for Playboy.^[15] In February 2008, Bongo Jeans announced that she would be their face model.^[16] She has also modeled for Carl's Jr., Sugar Factory lollipops, and various other products.^[17][18]

Kardashian starred in the 2008 disaster film spoof Disaster Movie as Lisa,^[19] and appeared in the How I Met Your Mother episode "Benefits". She also appeared on the Season 3 premiere of the series 90210 with her sisters Khloé and Kourtney; they all played themselves.^[20] Kardashian was a guest hostess of WrestleMania XXIV and appeared as a guest judge during Cycle 13 of America's Next Top Model.^[21] On December 16, 2009, Kardashian made a guest star appearance on CBS's CSI: NY with Vanessa Minnillo.^[22][19] In 2009 she had a cameo as club bouncer in the 2009 porn film spoof Deep in the Valley^[19]

Kardashian was one of 13 participants on the seventh season of Dancing with the Stars.^[23][19] She was partnered with Mark Ballas and was the third contestant voted off the show on September 30, 2008, finishing in 11th place overall.^[24] Sanford Siegal, the creator of the Cookie Diet, sued Kardashian, claiming she defamed him on Twitter. According to Siegal, Kardashian tweeted in October 2009 that he was "falsely promoting" that she was on the cookie diet. Siegal filed a claim in a Florida state court claiming the statements are false and defamatory. He also alleges that Kardashian was on QuickTrim's payroll when she posted the tweet. Kardashian's tweet appears to stem from an article on CookieDiet.com, that named Kardashian as one of many celebrities who saw positive results on the diet. Kardashian sent a cease-and-desist order to Siegal, demanding the link be removed.^[25]

Kardashian released her own fragrance product in 2010.^[26] In March 2009, Kardashian launched an endorsement with ShoeDazzle shopping,^[27] of which she is the co-founder and chief fashion stylist.^[17] The following month on April 9, 2009, Kardashian released a workout DVD series, Fit In Your Jeans By Friday, with trainers Jennifer Galardi and Patrick Goudeau.^[14][28] In September 2009, Fusion Beauty and Seven Bar Foundation launched "Kiss Away Poverty", with Kardashian as the face of the campaign. For every LipFusion lipgloss sold, $1 went to the Foundation to fund women entrepreneurs in the US.^[29]

She has also been featured in numerous international editions of FHM, including the cover of the April 2010 Australian edition and the UK March 2011 edition.^[30] Famous Cupcakes, a Los Angeles bakery, created a vanilla cupcake mix for Kardashian. The cupcake flavor is called Va-Va-Va-Nilla.^[17] Kardashian has also created jewelry along with her sisters, Khloé and Kourtney. They produced a collection for Virgins, Saints, and Angels in 2010.^[31]

Again with her sisters, Kardashian has released various clothing lines. One called K-Dash was to be sold on QVC in 2010,^[32] and in the same year they produced a range for Bebe.^[33][34][35] As of August 2011 they are creating another for Sears, called the Kardashian Kollection.^[36] In addition, Kardashian and her sisters created a sunless tanner called Kardashian Glamour Tan in 2010.^[37] On July 1, 2010, the New York City branch of Madame Tussauds revealed a wax figure of Kardashian.^[38]

2010–present: Marriage and other ventures[link]

Kardashian is the producer of The Spin Crowd, a reality television show about Command PR, a New York City public relations firm, run by Jonathan Cheban and Simon Huck. The show follows them as they settle into their new offices in Los Angeles. Kardashian is friends with both, specifically Cheban, and frequently appears on her reality shows. She also appeared at the 2010 MTV VMAs on September 12, 2010.^[39] She also appeared in and was the subject and judge of a task on the ninth episode of Season 10 of The Apprentice in 2010; the two teams had to create an in-store display for her new perfume line, to be sold at Perfumania.^[40][41] Kim, Kourtney, and Khloé wrote an autobiography entitled Kardashian Konfidential, which was released in stores on November 23, 2010.^[42]

In April 2010, Kardashian sparked controversy over the way she held a cat for a photograph.^[43] The same year, animal rights organization PETA criticized Kardashian for repeatedly wearing fur coats, and named her as one of the five worst people or organizations of 2010 when it came to animal welfare.^[44] In June 2010, The Guardian commented on her ability to attract payments of up to US$10,000 from sponsors for each tweet that she broadcasts.^[45]

In December 2010, Kardashian filmed a music video for a song titled "Jam (Turn It Up)". The video was directed by Hype Williams; Kanye West makes a cameo in the video.^[46] Kardashian premiered the song during a New Year's Eve party at TAO Las Vegas on December 31, 2010.^[47] The song was produced by The-Dream and Tricky Stewart. When asked if an album is in the works, Kardashian replied: "There's no album in the works or anything – just one song we did for Kourtney and Kim Take New York, and a video Hype Williams directed, half of the proceeds we're giving away to a cancer foundation, because The-Dream's and one of my parents passed away from cancer. It's just all having fun – with a good cause".^[48] Jim Farber, writing for the Daily News, called the song a "dead-brained piece of generic dance music, without a single distinguishing feature," and suggested that the single made Kardashian the "worst singer in the reality TV universe."^[49]

Kardashian's 2010 earnings were the highest among Hollywood-based reality stars, being estimated at $6 million.^[50]

Kardashian has supported the recognition of the Armenian Genocide on numerous occasions and has encouraged Barack Obama and the United States government to consider its acknowledgement. On April 21, 2011, a few days before the 96th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, she wrote about the issue on her blog in an effort to put it under spotlight and also sent a tweet to her fans urging its recognition.^[51]

Kardashian began dating NBA player Kris Humphries of the New Jersey Nets in October 2010. They became engaged in May 2011,^[52] and married on August 20, 2011 in Montecito, California.^[53] A two-part TV special showing the preparations and the wedding itself aired on E! in early October 2011, amidst what the Washington Post called a "media blitz" related to the wedding.^[54] After 72 days of marriage, Kardashian filed for divorce from Humphries on October 31, 2011, citing irreconcilable differences.^[55] After filing for the divorce, Kardashian asked the court to order Humphries to pay his own legal expenses.^[56] On December 1, 2011, Humphries filed his response to Kardashian's petition, requesting an annulment on the grounds of fraud or if the court will not grant an annulment, a decree of legal separation rather than Kardashian's requested divorce.^[57]

Several news outlets have surmised that Kardashian's marriage to Humphries was merely a publicity stunt to promote the Kardashian family's brand and their subsequent television ventures.^[58] Her former publicist has also claimed that her short-lived wedding was indeed staged and a ploy to generate money. Kardashian has since filed suit against him, saying his claims were untrue.^[59] A widely circulated petition asking to remove all Kardashian related programing off the air has been followed since their split.^[60] In March 2012, Kardashian and her sisters Kourtney and Khloe were named in a $5 million class action lawsuit against QuickTrim, the weight loss supplement they endorse.^[61]

Samantha Judith Ronson (born 7 August 1977) is an English singer-songwriter and disc jockey who lives in Venice, California.

Life and career[link]

Ronson was born in St John's Wood, London to writer/socialite Ann Dexter-Jones and one time music executive and real estate entrepreneur Laurence Ronson.^[1] When she was six years old her parents divorced and she moved with her siblings, mother and her mother's new partner, Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones, to New York City, where her mother later married Jones.^[2][3] Her parents are of Ashkenazi Jewish descent, with ancestors from Austria, Russia, and Lithuania, and Ronson was brought up in Conservative Judaism.^[4][5] Ronson's family name was originally Aaronson, but her grandfather Henry Ronson changed it to Ronson.^[6] She is the niece of property tycoon Gerald Ronson. Ronson is related to British Conservative politicians Sir Malcolm Rifkind and Leon Brittan,^[1] as well as Odeon Cinemas founder Oscar Deutsch.^[7] Ronson's older brother Mark Ronson is a music producer and musician and her twin Charlotte Ronson, a fashion designer. Ronson also has five younger half-siblings. Alexander and Annabelle, through her mother's remarriage to Mick Jones as well as Henrietta, David and Joshua, through her father's remarriage to model Michele First. Today she spins at some of the most high profile gigs around the world. Roc-A-Fella[link]

Ronson became the first rock act signed to Roc-A-Fella Records.^[17] In 2002, it was announced Duncan Sheik would be co-producing an album for Ronson that would be out in the spring.^[18] Ronson released four songs on Roc-A-Fella Records  : "Pull My Hair Out", "Fool", "If It's Gonna Rain" and "Built This Way," and wrote and recorded her first album, Red. "Built This Way" was featured in the movie Mean Girls starring Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams.^[19] "Pull my hair out" was featured on the soundtrack of the movie The woodsman starring Kevin Bacon and the song "Wanted", by Rhymefest featuring Samantha Ronson, appeared in the movie Half Nelson starring Ryan Gosling.^[20] In 2004, she opened for JC Chasez on his Schizophrenic tour. However, inauspicious timing and the dissolution of the Roc-A-Fella Records led to her first album never being released.^[21] Although Red was never officially released, downloads were made available from her MySpace page. Ronson has also made a number of appearances on mix tapes produced by artists on the Roc-A-Fella label.

In November 2011, Ronson released the album Chasing the Reds on her own label, Broken Toy Records. Guest stars appear on the album including Wale on “Summer of Sam”, Alex Greenwald of Phantom Planet on “Captain Jack” and Slash on the track "Love song". The album was produced by Jimmy Messer former guitarist with Goudie and Kelly Clarkson with Ronson herself sharing co producing credits. Her brother Mark Ronson produced one track,"Skyscrapers", which was cowritten by the siblings with Santigold.^[22]

Legal actions[link]

In May 2007, Lindsay Lohan crashed her Mercedes-Benz in Beverly Hills. Police found a "small amount" of cocaine in her car and blogger Perez Hilton posted on his blog that the drugs belonged to Ronson, using another celebrity gossip blog as a source for the story. Two weeks later he started selling "Blame Samantha" t-shirts and called Ronson a "lezbot dj". Ronson hired Martin Garbus to start a defamation suit against Hilton and the original source for the story, Celebrity Babylon. Celebrity Babylon agreed to issue a retraction and apology on the understanding that Ronson would drop the claim; Hilton's lawyers asked the judge to throw out the case as an assault on his free speech rights. Garbus thought that it would be impossible to produce evidence that Hilton had acted with malice and reached an agreement with Hilton which would have kept Ronson from paying his legal fees. Ronson wanted Hilton's retraction and vetoed the proposal. Around the same time Garbus presented a $100,000 bill after the $25,000 retainer had been accounted for. Garbus withdrew from the case and neither he nor Ronson appeared at Hilton's hearing, where the judge ruled in Hilton's favour dismissing the case and ordering Ronson to pay Hilton's $85,000 legal fees.^[23] Two weeks later Garbus sued Ronson in New York for close to $142,000 in fees and services. He later dropped that suit. In May, Ronson filed suit against Garbus in Los Angeles County Superior Court, contending that his incompetence had lost the case against Hilton and asking for damages in excess of $300,000. Among the allegations was that Garbus failed to fulfill his duties as her attorney because he was focused on collecting his fees. In response to Ronson's malpractice suit he countersued to recover his fees.^[23]

On August 1, 2011, Ronson was pulled over in Baker, California, while driving her Porsche Targa back home from Las Vegas. She was stopped for driving 89 m.p.h. in a 70 m.p.h. speed zone, initially but was given a balance test, since she seemed impaired. She was arrested for 2 misdemeanors for driving under the influence. Police claimed Ronson was cooperative and friendly.^[24]

Personal life[link]

In 2008 media outlets began commenting on Ronson and actress Lindsay Lohan, who were regularly seen being affectionate in public. Several newspapers, including The Times and the Los Angeles Times, published opinion pieces describing their relationship as romantic.^[25][26][27] Lohan long refrained from commenting on the exact nature of their relationship, stating through her publicist that she "wants to keep her private life private."^[26] In September 2008, it was widely reported that Lohan confirmed on the syndicated radio program, Loveline, that she was, in fact, dating Ronson. During the program, DJ Stryker asked "You and Samantha have been going out for how long now?...Like two years, one year, five months, two months?" to which Lohan laughed, and replied "For a very long time." Stryker then went on to say "Well, I hope you guys stay together. You are a very lovely looking couple", to which Lohan replied, "Thank you very much."^[28][29][30] Lohan opened up about her relationship with Ronson in the December 2008 issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine. She stated, "I think it's pretty obvious who I'm seeing... I think it's no shock to anyone that it's been going on for quite some time... She's a wonderful person and I love her very much."^[31] They later broke up. Ronson stated, in a July 2010 interview with The Times, that she loves Lohan as a human being, but the paparazzi attention grew to be too much^[32]

In June 2011, Ronson was pictured with music producer David Foster' s daughter, actress/writer, Erin Foster, several media outlets reported that Ronson and Foster were a couple.^[33][34] The two have been photographed frequently together ^[35] but Ronson has never commented on the relationship other than to state she is not single.^[36]

10 Years is an American alternative metal band, formed in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1999.

[edit] Early Years, Into the Half Moon (1999–2001)

10 Years was initially formed in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1999 with singer Mike Underdown, drummer Brian Vodinh, bassist Lewis Cosby, and guitarists Ryan "Tater" Johnson (also of The American Plague) and Matt Wantland. In 2001, Cosby left and the band recruited Andy Parks on bass. They independently recorded Into the Half Moon the same year.

[edit] Killing All That Holds You, The Autumn Effect (2002–2006)

Lead vocalist Mike Underdown left the band to pursue a career in acting and start up a new band 'Courage, You Bastards' in Los Angeles, Ca. 10 Years soon recruited current vocalist Jesse Hasek from another local band. In 2002, Parks decided to leave the band and Cosby returned. The band then released their independent album Killing All That Holds You in 2004.

10 Years was then signed to Universal Records in 2005 and released their major label debut, The Autumn Effect on August 16, 2005 with the songs "Wasteland" and "Through the Iris" picking up regional radio play. Their first single, "Wasteland" spent over 12 months on the rock charts, finally reaching #1 at active rock radio in December 2005.

That same summer, the band toured with Disturbed and Ill Niño. In the fall of 2005, they toured with Breaking Benjamin and Smile Empty Soul, then followed up with the Masters of Horror tour with Mudvayne and Sevendust. They opened for Korn and Mudvayne on Korn's See You on the Other Side tour. They also toured with Korn and Deftones on the Family Values Tour, which started in late July 2006.

In mid February 2006, "Wasteland" reached #1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. "Wasteland" has been certified Gold by the RIAA.

In mid-2006, the band toured Australia in a lineup which included Hatebreed, Disturbed and Korn.

Their first music video, "Wasteland", addresses the social problem of human rights as well as addiction around the world. The video received a nomination for Best Direction and Best Art Direction at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards, but did not win either.

On March 27, 2006, an EP was released on iTunes containing acoustic versions of "Wasteland" and other tracks from The Autumn Effect.

[edit] Division (2006–2008)

On November 19, 2006, 10 Years unveiled and confirmed the title Division for their second album.^[1] The band would begin recording Division in late June 2007 after spending the better part of a year writing.

Lewis told in an interview that the album is "so different from the first one [The Autumn Effect], but it's still 10 Years," and, "It just sounds like [the songs] would be from a totally different album, which was, you know, the goal."^[2] It was also revealed that the track titled "Focus" was co-written with Stone Temple Pilots and former Army of Anyone guitarist Dean DeLeo.^[1]

On May 21, 2007 a demo song titled "All Your Lies" from Division was released onto their MySpace along with a post stating the band had chosen producer Rick Parasher to produce the new album.^[3] On September 7, the band announced on their MySpace that the album was finished and would be released in 2008, following a tour with Dir En Grey, Sevendust, Operator, Thousand Foot Krutch and Chevelle.

On January 29, 2008, "Beautiful," the new single from Division, was released to iTunes and a snippet was also posted on the band's MySpace page. Division was released on May 13, 2008 after being pushed back due to finalization of the album's artwork.^[4]

10 Years was featured on the Revolution Stage of Linkin Park's Summer Projekt Revolution 2008 tour with Atreyu, Hawthorne Heights and Armor For Sleep.

They went on tour with Mudvayne until mid December 2008.

[edit] Feeding the Wolves (2009–2011)

10 Years announced that their upcoming third major label album would be entitled Feeding the Wolves. The album was produced by Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson and mixed by Chris "Lord" Alge. The band has mentioned the album is of their heaviest material to date and "very similar to some of their early songs."

Throughout the first half of 2010, the band went back and forth between putting on live shows and working in the studio. Before the album was released, the band debuted new songs at live performances such as "Dead in the Water", "Now is the Time", and the new album's first single ""Shoot It Out" ". ^[5][6]

On June 12, 2010, ""Shoot It Out" " was featured on Sirius/XM Radio. The track was released to radio later that month,^[7] and was made available for download on iTunes July 6.^[8] Feeding the Wolves was released on August 31, 2010.

To promote the album's release, the band opened Shinedown's 2010 Carnival of Madness summer tour alongside Chevelle, Puddle of Mudd, and Sevendust.^[9] In the fall they joined Sevendust again on the Hard Drive Live tour with support from Since October and Anew Revolution.

In December, the band went on a mini-headline tour,^[10] where they played some older songs that they had not played in some time. February 2011, their new single "Fix Me" releases to radio while they headline a spring tour with Hollywood Undead.

On June 17 and 18 the band shot a music video for "Fix Me" in Columbus, Ohio with production company Thunder Down Country.^[11] The video was released via YouTube on August 9, 2011.^[12]

[edit] Minus The Machine Palehorse Records (2012-present)

On twitter the band has shown pictures of Brian Vodinh's home basement turned studio for future workings on their next album.

On April 2nd, 2012, the band announced on Facebook that their upcoming record, Minus The Machine, is to be released on July 30th on their own independent label, Palehorse Records, which the band stated is a part of Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group. They also announced a 4-week headlining tour to support the record, which begins on June 27th in New Orleans.

On May 11th, the band unveiled the cover art of the album and it was announced that the album's release has been pushed back to July 31st.^{[citation needed]} 10 Years will release their first single "Backlash" on radio and iTunes on June 21st.

Sander van Doorn (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈsɑn.dər vɑn ˈdoːrn]) (born Sander Ketelaars [Dutch pronunciation: [ˈsɑn.dər ˈkeː.tə.ˌlaːrs]] on 28 February 1979 in Eindhoven, Noord-Brabant, Netherlands) is a Dutch Trance music DJ and producer. He is listed at DJMag's top 100 djs list, debuting at #32 in 2006, then moving up to #13 in 2008, being #10 in 2009, down to #12 in 2010, and currently listed as #16 DJ in the world.^[1] Another dance music poll, TranceAddict TOP 250 shows Sander at #4 in their 2011 rankings.^[2]

Sander hosts Identity podcast, which is broadcast as a weekly radio show on Area channel of Sirius XM satellite radio. The show is broadcast every Friday at 8 pm ET and replays every Saturday at 5 pm ET and Wednesdays at 6 pm ET.

The first big achievement in his career was securing residencies at Judgement Sunday in Ibiza and at the Gallery in London. Sander has DJ'ed at many major clubs, parties and venues around the world. In June 2007 he presented one of Eddie Halliwell's shows on BBC Radio One. He also did an essential mix for BBC Radio One in June 2006, the same month he won 'Best New Producer' at the Trance Awards. His productions, both original work and remixes, in 2007-2008 have generally been well received in the electronic music industry. Notable artists he has done remixes for include Robbie Rivera, Matt Darey, Randy Katana, Mode Hookers (Steve Angello & Sebastian Ingrosso), Blank & Jones, TDR, Armin van Buuren.

On 3 March 2008 Sander released his first artist album under the record label Spinnin' Records. The album was titled 'Supernaturalistic'. It is a 13 track album with a variation of tracks with a base in trance but all with their own take on the genre.

March 2008 saw Sander win an award for 'Best Breakthrough DJ' in the International Dance Music Awards at the Miami Winter Music Conference in 2008 (beating the likes of Calvin Harris, Deadmau5 and Axwell). His track "Riff" also received a nomination as the best "Underground Track".^[3]

In the summer of 2010 Sander had residency at the world famous Amnesia nightclub in Ibiza, Spain. On Tuesday of every month Sander was going behind the decks with the likes of such super star DJs as Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz and Gareth Emery.

2010 was a very busy year for Sander both in the studio and on the global dance floor. Sander's "Renegade" track was the official anthem of the biggest trance party in the world - Trance Energy 2010 in the Netherlands, where he played on the Main Stage. He also did the official cd compilation for Trance Energy 2010.

Sander headlined a lot of music festivals with Bal en Blanc 16 in Montreal, Beyond Wonderland in San Bernardino, Electric Zoo in New York and Transmission in Prague just to name a few. A month long tour of North America, which started in April was a great success with the finale "Dusk Till Doorn" show at The Guvernment in Toronto.

In August 2010, Sander released his double cd compilation "Dusk Till Doorn" with big launch party at Avalon nightclub in Las Vegas, where Sander played an extended 5 hours set. Sander already brought his "Dusk Till Doorn" show to many nightclubs around the world and the list keeps on growing.

Just like in 2009, all of Sander's tracks produced in 2010 including "Renegade", "Daisy", "Reach Out", "Hymn 2.0" and "Daddyrock" went to the top of trance chart at Beatport music portal.

2011 has been another mile-stone year for Sander. In between huge headlining gigs at Energy, Mysteryland, EDC and his residency at worldwide Sensation festivals, he released his first true cross-over hits 'Love is darkness' and 'Koko'. Besides that, his Dusk till Doorn compilation got its 2011 version, all of which earned him a Dutch Silver Harp award.
