American Idol

American Idol is an American singing competition series created by Simon Fuller and produced by 19 Entertainment, and is distributed by FremantleMedia North America. It began airing on Fox on June 11, 2002, as an addition to the Idols format based on the British series Pop Idol and has since become one of the most successful shows in the history of American television. The concept of the series is to find new solo recording artists, with the winner being determined by the viewers in America. Winners chosen by viewers through telephone, Internet, and SMS text voting were Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, David Cook, Kris Allen, Lee DeWyze, Scotty McCreery, Phillip Phillips, Candice Glover, Caleb Johnson, and Nick Fradiani.

American Idol employs a panel of judges who critique the contestants' performances. The original judges were record producer and music manager Randy Jackson, pop singer and choreographer Paula Abdul and music executive and manager Simon Cowell. The judging panel for the most recent season consisted of country singer Keith Urban, singer and actress Jennifer Lopez, and jazz singer Harry Connick, Jr. The show was originally hosted by radio personality Ryan Seacrest and comedian Brian Dunkleman, with Seacrest continuing on for the rest of the seasons.

Jessica Elizabeth Sanchez (born August 4, 1995) is an Filipina-American singer and songwriter originally from Chula Vista, California. She was the runner-up on the eleventh season of the reality show American Idol, and is currently signed to 19 Recordings and Interscope Records. Prior to appearing on American Idol, Sanchez competed in the first season of America's Got Talent at the age of 11.

Early life

Jessica Elizabeth Sanchez was born in Chula Vista, California on August 4, 1995 to parents, Edita (born Bugay) and Gilbert Sanchez. She was raised in Eastlake, Chula Vista along with two younger brothers. Her father is a Mexican-American originally from Texas, and is an Aviation Ordnance First Class Petty Officer in the United States Navy Reserves. Her mother is a Filipina whose family is from Samal, Bataan in the Philippines.

She attended Eastlake Middle School in Chula Vista and was homeschooled all four years of high school.

She started singing at the age of 2, and aspires to be a mainstream singer who can "belt but sing upbeat songs". Eminem and Beyoncé are her favorite male and female artists, while Jennifer Hudson is her favorite American Idol contestant. Dance Again

"Dance Again" is a song recorded by American entertainer Jennifer Lopez for her first greatest hits album, Dance Again... the Hits (2012). It features guest vocals from American rapper Pitbull. The song was written by Enrique Iglesias, Bilal "The Chef", AJ Junior, Pitbull and RedOne, who also produced the song. At the time of the song's production, Lopez was unsure whether or not the song is the lead single from a greatest hits album, or a new studio album.

"Dance Again", an uptempo dance-pop song, features Lopez singing about wanting to dance and love, and it contains several sexual innuendos. Lopez credits the song as her anthem and metaphor, which stood for her surviving a rough divorce. It marks the third time that Lopez and Pitbull collaborated on a song; the previous songs being the promotional single "Fresh Out the Oven" (2009) and the single "On the Floor" (2011). Following its release, it charted within the top ten of several international charts including Canada, Brazil and Spain. It also peaked at number seventeen on the Billboard Hot 100. Critics were divided over "Dance Again", with many comparing it to "On the Floor".
