JVC GY-HM100 intro
JVC GY-HM100 intro
Victor Company of Japan, Ltd. (JVC) further expands its ProHD camcorder line-up by introducing two professional solid state camcorders, the industry's first to store files in the native QuickTime format for Apple's Final Cut Pro onto reliable and inexpensive SDHC media cards. The compact hand-held GY-HM100 3-CCD camcorder is introduced in January 2009, while the compact shoulder GY-HM700 is scheduled for introduction in February 2009. Both camcorders record 35Mbps high definition video and uncompressed audio directly to inexpensive SDHC media cards in the native QuickTime format used by Apple Final Cut Pro. The growing trend in the professional video market is to record directly from camera to solid state memory, and the current leading solutions have made the workflow quite expensive for most users, relying on proprietary media and file formats. In addition, compatibility with major non-linear editing (NLE) systems requires codec converting or re-wrapping format files, a process that significantly slows down the post production process. Professional users are yearning for a simple, fast solution that allows instant editing of recorded material without file conversion, and a media cost approaching the economy of tape. To meet this demand, JVC has adopted the Apple QuickTime file format for Final Cut Pro. And, to keep media costs as low as possible, JVC selected the reliable yet inexpensive SDHC media card, one of the most widely-used solid state memory cards on the market ...

Converting Videos Howto - FFMPEG
Converting Videos Howto - FFMPEG
Check out my new Linux channel: bit.ly This video tutorial will explain how to losslessly convert any video file format, including quicktime .mov, flash .flv files, open source .ogv, .mp4, .wmv, .asf and more. I show you how to install ffmpeg, check the formats and codecs available to you, convert a file to a new format (windows media and .asf in this example) without any loss in quality during the decoding and encoding process, and create and run a script file that will enable you to run a batch conversion on any number of files at the same time. Anyone who has tried to convert multimedia files in Windows knows how challenging it can be. There are a ton of different programs out there to do it, but most of them either leave a watermark in your video, lower the resolution of your video, or both, unless you pay hundreds of dollars. ffmpeg can do this for you quickly, conveniently, and completely free - and can even be used in Windows! This video was created for Ubuntu, but will work for most Linux distributions, and the code you learn here to convert a file can be applied to the Windows version as well, though Windows' scripting language is different so you will need to adjust the batch conversion script. For more quick video tips, check out www.linuxhaxor.net, and for all these and lots more fun stuff, take a look at my site http Note: Yes, if you use a lossy codec, there will be loss in transcoding, but the difference is imperceptible with ffmpeg, unlike other programs ...

How to add sound to Adobe Flash cs3/cs4
How to add sound to Adobe Flash cs3/cs4
Hello everybody! I am showing you how to import sounds into Adobe Flash cs3/cs4. A lot of people find it hard, but it really isn't. Here are the supported sound formats: MP3 (Moving Pictures Expert Group Level-2 Layer-3 Audio): This cross-platform format is a standard for web and portable audio files. In many respects the growth of this format is tied to the popularity of iPods and audio players on cell phones. Though you can output these files in stereo, you'll want to pay close attention to bandwidth settings for your MP3s. WAV: If you use a PC to record a voiceover or other sound, you are familiar with the WAV format. WAV files have sample rates ranging from 8 kilohertz (the quality of your phone) up to 48 kilohertz (DAT tapes) and beyond. These files are also available with bit depths ranging from 8 bits right up to 32 bits. Just keep in mind that a file with a sample rate of 48 kilohertz and a 32 bit depth will result in a massive file size that simply shouldn't be used with Flash. QuickTime: These files have extensions of .qta or .mov and can contain audio in many formats. If you do create a QuickTime audio file, you need to make the movie self-contained in QuickTime Pro. AIFF (Audio Interchange File Format): AIFF is the standard for the Macintosh and offers the same sample rates and bit depths as a WAV file. Many purists will argue that the AIFF format is better than the WAV format. This may indeed be true, but to the average person the difference between this ...
