St. Edmund Gennings, Elizabethan priest and Martyr, arrested and executed by order of Queen Elizabeth I after ministering to the persecuted Christians of England in the 1580's/1590's, full short biographical film, useful for classrooms and parishes. Saint Edmund Gennings is one of the lesser known of the Martyrs of England yet the account of his life and mission as a hunted young priest in Elizabethan England is worthy of note and interest. Saint Edmund Gennings is linked to many other English Martyrs. He is particularly remembered for his execution outside the home of Saint Swithun Wells after having been captured and tortured for celebrating the outlawed Catholic Mass.
