Mom found guilty of murdering 7-year-old son for not memorizing the Koran

British mom, Sara Ege, 33, beat her 7-year-old son to death with a stick at their home in Wales in July 2010 and then set fire to his body. Why? The child failed to memorize key excerpts from the Koran. Today, Sara Ege was found guilty of murdering her son Yaseen and perverting the course of justice.

The murderous mom originally tried to pin the killing on her husband according to FOX News. She eventually confessed to the murder.

"I was getting all this bad stuff in my head, like I couldn't concentrate," Ege reportedly told authorities.

"I was getting very wild and I hit Yaseen with a stick on his back like a dog."

Yaseen’s dad, 38-year-old Yousuf Ege, had previously been charged with failing to protect his son, but was acquitted of those charges.

After beating her 7-year-old son “like a dog,” the mother dragged Yaseen into the family kitchen where she reported seeing a "greenish yellow liquid" dripping from the boy’s nose.

The prosecutor in the case, Ian Murphy, said in court "he clearly suffered terribly,"

Within moments after the child died, Ege made the decision to burn his little body. “He never complained” she said according to the BBC.

"She started the fire to hide what she had done."

When sentenced, Ege could be looking at life behind bars. We’ll find out at her sentencing hearing next year.
