Def Jef is the stage name of Jeffrey Fortson (born September 27, 1966), an American alternative hip hop musician and rapper of the late 1980s and early 1990s. He was born in Harlem, New York City, New York, USA.
His debut album was 1989's Just a Poet With a Soul, which won critical acclaim for sociopolitical lyrics and original beats. Additionally, he was a member of the West Coast Rap All-Stars, a collaboration of West Coast-based hip hop artists who released the anti-violence single "We're All in the Same Gang" in 1990. He performed on the television variety show In Living Color in 1990.
After his second album, Soul Food, was released, Def Jef moved into production full-time. Since the 1990s, he has produced, written, arranged and remixed artists including Nas, Snoop Doggy Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Kimberley Locke, Maxwell, Avant, Tupac Shakur, and Shaquille O'Neal. He has worked with Krayzie Bone and Thugline Records.
He produced the theme songs for the Disney sitcom That's So Raven and The Game.
Puisi Tak Terkuburkan (literally Unburied Poetry; released in English as A Poet: Unconcealed Poetry) is a 2000 award winning Indonesian documentary/drama directed by Garin Nugroho in black and white. At the 2001 Singapore International Film Festival the film won the FIPRESCI Prize and the Silver Screen Award for Best Asian Actor which went to the poet Ibrahim Kadir, who played himself. The film was also nominated at for the Silver Screen Award for Best Asian Feature Film, while Nugroho won the Silver Leopard Video Award at the Locarno International Film Festival.
In 1965, Ibrahim Kadir (played by himself) is falsely arrested after being accused of being a communist or communist sympathizer. While imprisoned, he meets other inmates who have also been falsely imprisoned. Together, they sing the traditional poetic form didong, and attempt to band together. However, every day more prisoners are taken outside and executed.
While alone, Kadir thinks of the crimes committed by the military that he has witnessed, including the killings of unarmed women and children, as well as the execution of the wrongfully incarcerated. He continues to hear the voices of the past as the number of prisoners dwindles done to a few; he is eventually released after spending 22 days in prison.

Def Jam Vendetta - PS2 Gameplay 1080p (PCSX2) Visit us at http://www.godgames-world.com for more Def Jam Vendetta is a 2003 professional wrestling video game that combined hip hop with pro wrestling. It was released for the PlayStation 2 and GameCube. It was Electronic Arts' first attempt at a wrestling game since the widely-panned WCW Backstage Assault. The game's engine was originally designed for use in a sequel to EA's WCW Mayhem, but EA lost the WCW license when the wrestling company was purchased by the World Wrestling Federation in 2001. Several hip hop artists were featured in the game, including DMX, Method Man, Redman, Ludacris, N.O.R.E., Capone, Scarface, Joe Budden, Ghostface Killah, Keith Murray, WC and Funkmaster Flex; all of which at the time were artists of Def Jam Record...

[Verse 1]
I do work and I'm workin' it with the will of a warrior
I'll take on 54 of ya, nah, I'll even take more of ya
Competition is great, and keeps me in shape
And it's mentally stimulatin'
Competitors constantly contemplatin' challenge
Champion's written all on my face
And I'm smirkin', and lurkin' back in the back
Attacking and hacking and jacking
Smacking up losers that's lacking
Characteristics of poets, they blow it
Tryna show it, yo if I'm flowin' they know it, so it
Compels me to step and release the rhymes that I kept
In case of an urgent emergency then these words'd be weapons
Any discrepancy heard'll have to be handled in haste
At any pace when I step in the place, cos I came to do work
[Verse 2]
Lyrically thorough, I'm from the borough of Manhattan
And when I moved to the Bronx, then I got into rappin'
Funky beats would control me
It's like the mic would say hold me
I do a solo, me only
I'd be alone but not lonely, cos
Eric would back me
The only track would be doubles
And when the rappers attacked me
They'd end up buried in rubble, cos
We never took losses, opposing forces proceeded
But they retreated, receded, beat it defeated
We did repeat it as needed
Kept 'em seated and some felt cheated
Gave 'em all second tries and still I superseded
I'm a souped superior subsidiary of soul
I keep the crowd in control, cos I do work
[Verse 3]
I got a need and it's bleedin'
Inside of me to say words
Cos it's my choice and I'm voicin'
Just what I think should be heard
To a sleazy easy goin'
Lazy laid back track
The pace is slow, the bass is low
And yo, I'm ready to go
Do my job, I'm obligated, devoted and dedicated
And loaded and motivated to show that I know the way that it's
Supposed to be done, that's why I chose to become
Professional in this profession, droppin' rhymes on drums
It's automatic that static comes automatically to me
I've had it for longest been at it
So call it fad, it doesn't
Sweat me or get me uncivilized like a savage
I play it civil and give all I got to keep up the image of
Rap cos I happen to be a rapper and poet
Not just rappin' to be rappin' in case you didn't know it
Here's the deal, cos I feel
You oughta be up on what's new
With the rhyme it's time for me to do work
Cos I got work to do
