Digging in at Ross Ice Shelf
Twelve hours of time lapse footage from the Lorne weather station on the Ross Ice Shelf, Antarctica. We install an ozone instrument as the winds pick up and clouds move over Hut Point Peninsula. We build a snow wall for protection from the wind.

Icebreaker Polar Star-Ross Ice Shelf-Icebergs-Emperor Penguins
Lonely day on Icebreaker Polar Star where I was wandering the decks filming the Ross Ice Shelf and stray icebergs in the fog. Later on that day we came across the first Emperor Penguins we had seen on the trip and the whole crew got excited and went to the fantail to watch them.

66 Ross Ice Shelf · Antarctica
Wehave selected 100 unique places on Earth that are projected to undergo profound changes within the next few generations. We based our selection of the 100 places on the 4th Assessment Report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Simply by drawing attention to the beauty of these places, 100 Places to Remember Before they Disappear creates an argument to preserve them. The 100 Places we have chosen to highlight, and the people who live in them, are in serious danger because of rising sea levels, rising temperatures and extreme weather events triggered by climate change. Among ambassadors are Joss Stone, Desmond Tutu for more info visit www.100places.com - . Ross Ice Shelf · Antarctica Hush, be quiet! The mystic Barrier! The Ross Ice Shelf in the Antarctic is Earths largest ice shelf and forms part of its biggest ice mass. It contains a massive 70% of the fresh water on the planet. Named after James Clark Ross, the British naval officer and explorer who first set eyes on it in 1841, it is associated with dangerous adventures, heroic discoveries - and an uncertain future. In 1911, when it was still known as the Ice Barrier, the explorers Robert F Scott and Roald Amundsen set off on their legendary race to the South Pole from opposite edges of the shelf. In his book South Pole, Amundsen records his immediate feelings on arriving at its huge face for the first time Hush, be quiet! The mystic Barrier! Beat 1: Ross Ice Shelf
This is a beat I produced (no rap, at least for now). It's very chill and simple: it makes me happy and I hope it will make you happy. Fellow rappers: if you want to spit some lines on this beat, that is okay! I do ask that you mention me in the description and link to this video or my channel. If you want the mp3 to download, message me.

Emperor Penguins
A group of emperors hanging out on the ice shelf at the end of their molting period. Mount Erebus, the southern most active volcano in the world is letting off steam in the background. This is part of a much longer clip where I set the camera up and just went away and left it to get a "video wallpaper" shot. They are interacting with another penguin off camera to the left, for most of the original shot they barely moved.

UFO Crash Site on Ross Island, Antarctica???
Antarctic's Ross Island has 1280 scientists most at Scott Base and McMurdo Station. Scott Base is a New Zealand research station adjacent to McMurdo Station, the US research station and the main logistic hub of the US Antarctic Program, at the edge of the McMurdo Ice Shelf. Mount Erebus volcano has been observed to be continuously active since 1972 and is the site of the Mount Erebus Volcano Observatory run by the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. two ships assisted by an icebreaker annually arrive at Winter Quarters Bay with fuel and cargo to re-supply the adjacent US McMurdo Station at. The cargo operations also support nearby Scott Base and field stations throughout Antarctica. More than 50 years of activity at McMurdo Station has severely polluted the bay.

NASA's Great Discovery - Gran descubrimiento de la NASA
English: At a depth of 600 feet beneath the West Antarctic ice sheet, a small shrimp-like creature managed to brighten up an otherwise gray polar day in late November 2009. This critter is a three-inch long Lyssianasid amphipod found beneath the Ross Ice Shelf, about 12.5 miles away from open water. NASA scientists were using a borehole camera to look back up towards the ice surface when they spotted this pinkish-orange creature swimming beneath the ice.

Sunken Polar Expedition Ship Found - Took Robert F Scott to South Pole
A US team says it's discovered the SS Terra Nova, a polar exploration ship that sunk off the coast of Greenland in September 1943 after carrying Captain Robert Scott to the South Pole in 1910. The Schmidt Ocean Institute says its survey team found the whaler while testing echo sounders off the southern coast of Greenland. The SS Terra Nova famously carried a British exploration team led by Robert Falcon Scott to the South Pole in 1910. The men successfully reached the South Pole but all five froze to death during their walk over the Ross Ice Shelf. The SS Terra Nova sank after hitting an iceberg while carrying supplies during World War II. RNZAF aid the stricken fishing vessel Sparta stranded on the Ross Sea Ice Shelf
An RNZAF Hercules made a drop onto the ice shelf to re-supply the russian fishing vessel Spata. The crew of the Hercules were able to land a perfect hit with the drop and intend to head back in the coming days to drop off more supplies to the people on board.
