Jesse Eden Metcalfe (born December 9, 1978) is an American actor. He is notable for his portrayal of John Rowland on ''Desperate Housewives'', Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald on ''Passions'', and as the title character in the movie ''John Tucker Must Die''.

Early life

Metcalfe was born in Carmel Valley, California, the son of Nancy (née DeMaio) and Jeff Metcalfe. His father is of French and Italian descent and his mother is of Italian and Portuguese descent. Metcalfe played in several basketball leagues during his teen years in Waterford, Connecticut and graduated from The Williams School in New London, Connecticut.

Career

After successfully auditioning for the NBC soap opera ''Passions'', he played Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald, one of five siblings, from the show's debut in July 1999 to July 2004, and November 2004 to January 2005, co-starring with actress Molly Stanton, creating one of Daytime's favorite couple, Charity & Miguel. The pair departed onscreen together in what is referred to a "classic daytime cliffhanger" in July 2004 but Metcafe was soon brought back to the series for a short-stint later that year.

In late 2003 and early 2004, he met the famous model Estefania Santana. After a couple of dates, they became an official couple. The couple are no longer together.

In October 2004, Metcalfe returned to television as the teenage gardener John Rowland on the popular ABC TV drama ''Desperate Housewives'', where his character had a secret relationship with housewife Gabrielle Solis played by Eva Longoria. In November 2004, Metcalfe returned to Passions resuming the role as Miguel briefly for a short-stint, where he became one of the first actors to be play contract roles on both daytime and primetime at the same time. In November 2004 ''USA Today'' named him "the [show's] hottest sex symbol" on daytime. Metcalfe made brief appearances in later seasons. In January 2005, after just nearly two months, Metcalfe expressed the difficulty juggling two major roles on a daytime and primetime, with the overwhelming work schedule. His first appearance took place when he and Ashton Kutcher ''punk'd'' Eva Longoria for stealing thousands of dollars and fraud (false identity). His second occurred when he was ''punk'd'' by Ashton Kutcher's crew members during the ''Spider-Man 3'' audition. Metcalfe also appeared in the 3 Doors Down "Let Me Go" video.

Metcalfe's first film role was in 2006, ''John Tucker Must Die'', alongside Ashanti, ''One Tree Hill'''s Sophia Bush and ''Hairspray'''s Brittany Snow; he played a wealthy and insincere teenage playboy high school basketball player.

Metcalfe hosted an episode of the British TV chat show ''The Paul O'Grady Show'' on October 26, 2006, because O'Grady was taking the week off on doctor's orders. Jesse had previously been interviewed on the show twice before.

In 2009 he starred alongside both Amber Tamblyn and Michael Douglas in a remake of the 1956 film ''Beyond a Reasonable Doubt'', directed by Peter Hyams.

Eva Jacqueline Longoria (born March 15, 1975) is an American actress, best known for portraying Gabrielle Solis on the ABC television series ''Desperate Housewives''. Longoria received a nomination for the 2006 Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance on ''Desperate Housewives''.

Longoria first rose to fame on television for portraying Isabella Braña on the CBS soap opera ''The Young and the Restless'' from 2001 to 2003. She became nationally recognized in the 2000s after appearing in several high-profile advertising campaigns and numerous men's magazines, reaching #14 in the FHM "Sexiest Women 2008" poll, and having appeared on the cover of various international women's magazines including ''Vogue'', ''Marie Claire'' and ''Harper's Bazaar''. Longoria has also starred in films such as ''Harsh Times'' (2005), ''The Sentinel'' (2006) and ''Over Her Dead Body'' (2008).

Early life

Eva Jacqueline Longoria formerly Longoria-Parker was born in Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, the youngest of four daughters born to Mexican-Americans Enrique Longoria, Jr. and Ella Eva Mireles. She was raised Roman Catholic. The Longoria family has resided in Texas since before the creation of the United States, predating the English-speaking settlers.

She received her Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology at nearby Texas A&M; University-Kingsville. During this time, she won the title of Miss Corpus Christi, USA in 1998. After completing college, Longoria entered a talent contest that led her to Los Angeles, California; shortly after, she was spotted and signed by a theatrical agent.

Career

Longoria landed her first television role in 1999 after meeting Executive Producer Gary Ghiaey at a political reception in Los Angeles. Ghiaey hired her to host the weekend destination segment of his television show "L.A. In A Day". Longoria went on to guest star in an episode of ''Beverly Hills, 90210''. Another guest appearance in ''General Hospital'' the same year brought her big break on the popular American soap opera ''The Young and the Restless'', in which she played psychotic Isabella Braña Williams from 2001 to 2003. After leaving ''The Young and the Restless'', she was seen on the now-cancelled Dick Wolf revival of ''Dragnet''. Following ''Dragnet'', she starred in two ill-fated productions - ''Señorita Justice'', a poorly received direct-to-video film, and a television film titled ''The Dead Will Tell''.

In 2004, Longoria landed the role as adulteress Gabrielle Solis in the worldwide break-out ABC hit ''Desperate Housewives''. Longoria continues to be included in lists of Hollywood's Most Beautiful and was listed #1 in ''Maxim'''s Hottest Female Stars of 2005 and 2006, becoming the first woman to top the list in two consecutive years. Then, ''In Who Gets the Dog'' Longoria will play a woman named Olive who is at war with her ex over who keeps their beloved poodle. Besides starring in the film, she has also signed on as a producer for the comedy. Longoria will also star alongside Brendan Fraser as his wife in ''Four Kings'', a historical drama set during the French and Indian War, which took place from 1754–1763. The drama, directed by Damian Lee, is about a wealthy British man who hopes to create a utopian society with his wife by backing the war between Great Britain and France. And then there is an animated series by Hulu, titled ''Child Support'', in which Longoria will lend her voice to the lead role. Longoria's character is Marley Wiener—an irresponsible suburban mother who basically improvises her way through parenting. Eva Longoria topped the ''Forbes'' magazine's list of the highest-paid TV actresses for 2011.

Business activities

Eva Longoria opened the restaurant Beso (in Spanish: "Kiss") in Hollywood, along with partner and celebrity chef Todd English, in March 2008. The restaurant is located on Hollywood Boulevard and is accompanied by Kiss, a Victorian-themed nightclub above the restaurant. The Hollywood Beso was scheduled to be the focus of a pilot episode for a tentative reality series called ''Beso: Waiting on Fame'' which would air on VH1 in late 2010.

In 2009, Longoria and various investor-partners opened a Beso restaurant, with a nightclub called Eve above it, in the Crystals retail and entertainment district of CityCenter in Las Vegas.

In 2011, the corporation Beso LLC, owner of the Vegas restaurant-and-nightclub venture, with listed assets of about $2.5 million and Eva Longoria as a 32 percent shareholder, filed for Chapter 11 protection, entering bankruptcy proceedings, in order to restructure nearly $5.7 million in debt and other liabilities. Longoria stated, on the occasion, that she's looking "forward to a more pro-active, hands-on approach in the coming years" with her Las Vegas business interests. On 28 July 2011, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Nevada, following a request filed by Beso investor Mali Nachum and her husband Ronen, who have been litigating against Longoria and other Beso investors in multiple courts, ordered Eva Longoria to appear in Las Vegas on the 20th of August in order to be examined about the bankrupt restaurant's finances.

Longoria released the fragrance "EVA by Eva Longoria", a "clean citrus-floral eau de parfum", in April 2010. She stated she wanted a fragrance she could wear: "I am allergic to most fragrances. There was nothing I could wear without my eyes watering, my nose starting to itch or sneezing." In the spring of 2011 she launched her signature fragrance, Eva by Eva Longoria, in major department stores.

Relationships

Longoria was married to ''General Hospital'' star Tyler Christopher from 2002 to 2004.

Longoria met Spurs point guard Tony Parker in November 2004, and on November 30, 2006, the couple became engaged. They were married in a civil service on Friday, July 6, 2007, at a Paris city hall. It was followed by a full Roman Catholic wedding ceremony at the Saint-Germain l'Auxerrois Church in Paris on Saturday, July 7, 2007. On November 17, 2010, Longoria filed for divorce from Parker in Los Angeles, citing "irreconcilable differences". In the divorce petition, Longoria, who had taken Parker's last name, requested her maiden name be restored. She also sought spousal support from Parker. The couple had a prenuptial agreement that was signed in June 2007, the month before their wedding, and amended two years later in June 2009.

The same day as the divorce filing, Longoria confirmed to her friend Mario Lopez that she had discovered hundreds of text messages from another woman on her husband's phone. ''Extra'' identified the other woman as Erin Barry, the former wife of Brent Barry, Parker's former teammate, and revealed that the Barrys were also in the process of divorcing. Lopez further stated that Longoria believed Parker had cheated on her earlier in the marriage with another woman, with whom he had kept in touch via Facebook. In light of the divorce, Longoria cancelled her scheduled appearance at the 2010 American Music Awards. On November 19, 2010, Parker filed for divorce from Longoria in Bexar County, Texas on the grounds of "discord or conflict of personalities", thus establishing a legal battle over where the divorce case would be heard. Unlike Longoria's divorce petition, Parker's did not mention a prenuptial agreement and claimed that the parties would "enter into an agreement for the division of their estate". The divorce was finalized in Texas on January 28, 2011, the same day Longoria's lawyer filed papers to dismiss her Los Angeles petition.

Ancestry

According to research done by Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr., of Harvard University, in 2010 for the PBS series ''Faces of America'', Longoria's Spanish ancestry can be traced back to her ninth great-grandfather, Lorenzo Suarez de Longoria (b. Oviedo, 1592), who in 1603 emigrated to the Viceroyalty of New Spain, which became modern-day Mexico, and whose family originated from a small village called Llongoria, Belmonte de Miranda, Asturias, Spain. Longoria is the Spanish spelling of the surname. Through the generations, Longoria's ancestors moved north to the modern US-Mexico border. In 1767, her 7th great-grandfather received almost of land along the Rio Grande in a land grant from the King of Spain. This land stayed in the family for over a century, enduring through the influx of Anglo settlers in the aftermath of the Mexican-American War and American Civil War.

Her DNA test results were: 70% European, 27% Asian/Indigenous, and 3% African. Specifically, her indigenous American ancestry is Mayan. After a computer compared the DNA results of Gates's dozen guests, test showed that is possible she is genetically related to cellist Yo-Yo Ma, who is of Chinese heritage, though this was never proved.

Philanthropy

In 2006, Longoria founded Eva's Heroes, a charity which helps developmentally disabled children, as she herself suffers from ADHD. She is the national spokesperson for PADRES Contra El Cancer. She signed shoes for the Spirit of Women Red Shoe Celebrity Auction. Longoria also supports the Clothes Off Our Back Foundation, OmniPeace, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the National Stroke Association, Project HOME and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Longoria is an executive producer of Shine Global Inc.'s documentary The Harvest (documentary) which is focused on the 500,000 child migrant farm workers in the U.S. and promote awareness and support to enact the Children's Act for Responsible Employment (CARE Act).

Longoria was named Philanthropist of the year by the Hollywood Reporter for 'her commitment to Latino causes and giving back to the community. She appeared on Fort Boyard in 2009, making over €20,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

In 2009, Longoria enrolled in a Master's program in Chicano Studies and Political Science at Cal State University, Northridge. According to Eva, "because of my involvement with the NCLR and my charity work, I really wanted a better, more authentic understanding of what my community has gone through so I can help create change."

In September 2009, Longoria was appointed to a bi-partisan commission issued with the task of determining the feasibility of the creation of a National Museum of the American Latino.

Politics

In 2009, Longoria enrolled in the Chicano Studies master's program at California State University, Northridge. She has called Arizona's SB 1070 immigration law unconstitutional. In 2012, she was one of seven Californians named to the "largely ceremonial" post of co-chair of Barack Obama's re-election campaign.

Molly Stanton (born March 13, 1980) is an American actress.

Biography

Stanton is best known for her role as Charity Standish on the soap opera ''Passions'' from the show's debut in 1999 until 2004. Stanton also played Charity's evil doppleganger Zombie Charity as well as her character's own ancestor Prudence Standish in flashbacks.

Before acting, she attended the University of California, Berkeley for part of her freshman year. She has guest-starred on television shows such as ''10-8'' and ''CSI: Miami''. Stanton starred on The WB's ''Twins'' alongside Sara Gilbert and Melanie Griffith, which aired from September 2005 to May 2006, playing the role of Farrah.

Molly starred on Fox Network's ''Do Not Disturb'' alongside Jerry O'Connell and Niecy Nash, which aired in the Fall of 2008. The show was canceled after 3 episodes. In 2009, Stanton appeared in ''Miss March'' as Candace.

Nadine Coyle (born 15 June 1985); is an Irish singer, songwriter, actress, and model who rose to fame in the early 2000s as a member of the band Six before becoming a member of successful girl-group Girls Aloud. The group amassed a joint fortune of £25 million by May 2009. With Girls Aloud, Coyle has been successful in achieving a string of 20 consecutive UK top ten singles (including four number ones), two UK number one albums, and received nominations for five BRIT Awards, winning Best Single in 2009 for "The Promise".

Coyle released her debut solo album ''Insatiable'' and its title track was released on 8 November 2010 through her own label, Black Pen Records in partnership with supermarket giant Tesco. The album peaked at number twenty on the Irish Album Charts and number forty-seven on the UK Album Charts in the UK.

Life and career

1985-2001: Early life

Coyle was born in Derry, Northern Ireland, on 15 June 1985 to Lillian and Niall Coyle. Her parents first noticed her talent for singing at the age of two, when she sang The Drifters' "Saturday Night at the Movies." Coyle was uninterested in her education but received good grades. She recorded a demo CD, which was distributed to Louis Walsh and ''The Late Late Show''. The CD included cover versions of "Fields of Gold", "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", "Love Is", and the aria "Summertime".

2002-2009: Girls Aloud

In 2001, while attending Thornhill College, Coyle auditioned for the Irish version of the reality television talent show ''Popstars'', on which Walsh was a judge. She won a place in the band Six; however, it was revealed that Coyle had lied about her age. She was just 16 years old, two years younger than the minimum age requirement of 18. Coyle said she was "exploited" by RTÉ. She returned to Thornhill College in Derry. She later revealed how she had a cancer scare when she found a lump in her breast when she was 17.

Louis Walsh encouraged Coyle to enter ''Popstars The Rivals'', the second British series of the international ''Popstars'' franchise. The series' goal was to create two winning pop groups - a boy band and a girl group, each consisting of five members who would then partake in "a battle of the sexes" as they vie for the Christmas number one on the UK Singles Chart. Several thousand applicants attended auditions across the UK in hope of being selected. Ten girls and ten boys were chosen as finalists by judges Walsh, Pete Waterman, and Geri Halliwell. These finalists then took to the stage participating in weekly Saturday night live performances (alternating weekly between the girls and boys). Following her performance of "Fields of Gold", Walsh told her she gave the "performance of the night. Stole the show for me," while fellow judge Halliwell said, "I'd love to buy a single of yours already".

Coyle joined Cheryl Cole, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts, and Kimberley Walsh to comprise the new girl group Girls Aloud, formed through the show by a public vote on 30 November 2002. The group's debut single "Sound of the Underground" peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart, becoming the 2002 Christmas number one. Girls Aloud hold the record for the shortest time between formation and reaching number one. The group released their debut album. ''Sound of the Underground'' in May 2003, which entered the charts at number two and was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry later the same year. Since 2003, Girls Aloud have released twenty consecutive top ten singles. Their singles "I'll Stand by You", "Walk This Way", and "The Promise" have charted at number one. Two of their albums have reached the top of the UK Album Chart; their greatest hits album ''The Sound of Girls Aloud'' and 2008's ''Out of Control'', both of which entered the chart at number one, with over one million copies of the former being sold. All their albums are certified platinum. They have been nominated for five BRIT Awards, and in 2009 won Best British Single at that year's BRIT Awards for "The Promise".

In 2009, Girls Aloud decided they would partake in a hiatus to pursue solo projects.

2009-2011: ''Insatiable''

Coyle announced plans to release a solo album during Girls Aloud's hiatus. She enlisted Barbara Charone, who was worked with Madonna and Christina Aguilera, as a publicist and Bruce Garfield as her manager. Despite early reports indicating three major record labels interested in Coyle, it was reported that Coyle had failed to earn a solo record deal, even being turned down by Girls Aloud's label Polydor Records. In April 2010, it was reported she had signed to Geffen Records. The deal later fell through. In August 2010, Coyle officially signed a deal with grocery store chain Tesco's new record label, releasing the album through her own Black Pen Records imprint.

In September 2010, Coyle announced the release of her debut album ''Insatiable'' on 8 November. Coyle worked with a number of famous songwriters and producers during recording sessions, such as Desmond Child, Guy Chambers, Mike Elizondo, Steve Booker, Toby Gad, Tony Kanal and newcomer Ricci Riccardi. Nadine also worked with Lucie Silvas, Matchbox Twenty's Kyle Cook, William Orbit, and Tiesto. According to an interview with Booker, Coyle had worked on song ideas using GarageBand which she then presented to Booker in England to work on together further. The producer said, "She was singing her songs to loops, and then I took the loops out and rewrote the music from scratch to her ideas." He described her songs as "very pop". Booker also worked on songs to show off Coyle's vocals: "Because she’s got such a belting voice, I tried a couple of things where she could really belt," he said. The album was released on 8 November.

The album was preceded by the release of her debut single, the title track "Insatiable". Co-written with Guy Chambers and produced by Ricci Riccardi, the song has an "80s feel" and "a harder, guitar-led sound." On 29 October 2010, Coyle performed "Insatiable" for the first time live on the ITV television show Paul O'Grady Live.

On 26 May, it was announced that Coyle will be releasing her debut single in the US, entitled "Runnin'" from her debut album Insatiable. It was also revealed that Coyle would release another new single titled "Sweetest High" worldwide, on 22 June 2011.

2012-Present: ''Sweetest High''

In April 2012 it was announced by Coyle that her second studio album ''Sweetest High'' is currently in working progress and should be released at the end of the year. She is currently recording new material and working with several artists across America and performing new tracks including Don Julio, Are You Crazy and Save Me at Gumbopop. Coyle's next single is to be released on the 14th May 2012 entitled ''Don Julio''. Coyle also confirmed that tracks Love Me For A Reason and Back For Good will be added as bonus tracks from her second album, plus a video recording live on Paul O'Grady's Halloween Special in 2011.

Other projects

As a member of Girls Aloud, Coyle has also appeared in the fly on the wall documentary ''Girls Aloud: Home Truths'', the E4 documentary series ''Girls Aloud: Off the Record'', and a one-off variety show entitled ''The Girls Aloud Party''. Coyle has expressed interest in an acting career, following Girls Aloud's cameo appearance as schoolgirls in the film ''St. Trinian's'' and Coyle's appearance on Keith Barry's show ''The Great Escape'', which aired on ITV on 29 December 2007. Coyle made a cameo appearance in Natasha Bedingfield's video for "I Wanna Have Your Babies".

Coyle contributed to the book ''Dreams that Glitter - Our Story'', an autobiography with her Girls Aloud bandmates, in October 2008. The book was written with a ghostwriter and published by the Transworld imprint Bantam Press. The book featured unseen photographs and included insights into the members' personal lives, their success together, style tips, and "everything we've learned about life, love and music." The book was previewed and serialised by ''OK!'' prior to its release. Girls Aloud held a book signing at Waterstone's in Piccadilly, London to promote the release. The title ''Dreams that Glitter'' comes from a line in the group's 2007 single "Call the Shots".

In March 2010, Coyle made her first solo appearance, singing "Love Me for a Reason" with Boyzone on a televised tribute to the late Stephen Gately. She collaborated with Boyz II Men for their album ''Love'', recording a cover of the Take That song "Back for Good". The song did not appear on the album. Coyle also worked with Jay Sean, although the duet was later scrapped.

She was reportedly approached by Gillette to advertise their female range of razors. As a member of Girls Aloud, Coyle has also endorsed Barbie, KitKat, Nintendo DS, Samsung, and Sunsilk.

Coyle owns a pub named Nadine's Irish Mist in Sunset Beach, Orange County. In December 2009, Coyle visited her hometown of Derry to successfully break the record of the most trees planted in one site in an hour by 100 volunteers. Coyle has also dedicated some of her time to charities, including the Northern Ireland children’s hospice.

Coyle published her new record label "Black Pen Records", which additionally released her debut album Insatiable and her further singles. Coyle has been confirmed as a judge for the next series of America's Next Top Model.

In April 2012 it was announced that Coyle would be appearing in Celebrity Big Brother 2012 (UK) for a fee of £500,000.

Personal life

In January 2008, she dated former American football player Jason Bell, and the two were engaged until their split in May 2011.
