5 Reasons Why the Senkaku (Diaoyu) Islands are NOT Chinese Territory
Expanding China will be the biggest problem for the international society of the 21st century. Sinocentrism, an ancient imperialism deeply rooted in China's history, seems now trying to swallow everything under the name of China. Sinocentrism has made Chinese people say, Taiwan is a part of China, Tibet is a part of China, East Turkestan is a part of China, Manchuria is a part of China, Mongolia is a part of China, Goguryeo is a part of China, the Spratly & Parcel islands are a part of China, the Senkaku islands are a part of China. It will also make them say, Okinawa is a part of China, North Korea is a part of China, South Korea is a part of China, Japan is a part of China, the whole Asia is a part of China, the whole Earth is a part of China. However, they must just realize that CHINA IS A MERE PART OF THE WORLD. Tibet must be Tibet. East Turkestan must be East Turkestan. Mongolia must be Mongolia. Manchuria must be Manchuria. Taiwan must be Taiwan. Each people must be allowed to decide their own future and what kind of tradition they will hand over to their children by their own. Sinocentrism is now blocking this basic human right. Democracy cannot coexist with Sinocentrism. The riverse is also true. Sinocentrism cannot coexist with Democracy. Either side must win and defeat the other. Which side will win? Sinocentrism or Democracy? Which side must win? Of course the latter. 5 Reasons Why the Senkaku Islands are not Chinese Territory 1. International Law "Island of ...

China vs Japan 中国vs日本 Senkaku Islands (尖閣諸島) 日本語字幕付
There's been a lot of news recently about protesting in China against the Japanese government purchasing some islands. So what's the big deal?! This video explains the situation. Due to the comments on this video I've now set them to "approval." I don't care what your opinion is, but ANY comment with ANY racial slur, and any comments that are hostile or hate-filled will not be approved. Also, some people seem concerned that this may lead to war, but I can confidently say that won't happen. These islands have been disputed for roughly 40 years--this is not a recent issue. This is just a way for Chinese citizens to blow off some steam and the Chinese government to save face in front of its citizens. The issue will die down, like it always does. Until there is a shift in the dynamics of East Asia both governments are going to keep this dispute at a stalemate. No one would gain anything from war, and that is absolutely the last thing either country wants to happen. Some sources I have used (I have more for those interested, especially for other aspects of Sino-Japanese relations, such as war crimes [yasukuni, comfort women, textbook controversies, etc]): Blanchard, Jean-Marc F. "The US Role in the Sino-Japanese Dispute over the Diaoyu (Senkaku) Islands, 1945-1971*." The China Quarterly No. 161, (March 2010): 95-123. Charney, Jonathan I. Japan and China's Battle For Senkaku Islands
A mostly uninhabited island group, known as the Senkaku islands in Japan and Diaoyu in China, is at the center of a deal between the Japanese family who owns it and the Japanese central government. Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Osamu Fujimura confirmed negotiations at a press conference saying, "We are exchanging views with the landowners in various ways, but that process is ongoing." On Wednesday, Japanese media reported that the landowners and the government have agreed on a price of $26 million. The Chinese regime does not recognize the Japanese family's ownership of the islands and claims that the islands are part of its territory. In response to media reports, China's Foreign Ministry says it will take action to protect its territory. [Hong Lei, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman]: "China's will and determination to protest its territorial sovereignty is unswerving. China is following developments closely, and will take necessary measures to protect its national territorial sovereignty." The group of five islands and rocky outcrops lies more than 1200 miles from Tokyo but only 124 miles from Taiwan. According to a treaty made with the United States after Japan's defeat in World War 2, the islands reverted back to Japanese control in 1972. In August, a group of protesters from China and Taiwan landed on one of the islands and were arrested by Japanese authorities. The next week, Japanese protesters did the same, sparking a wave of violent, anti-Japanese protests ...

CCTV - China to protect fishermen departing for the Senkaku islands
This is the video transmission from China state-owned TV CCTV declaring in summary that over 1000 boats are getting ready on Monday, September 17th to sail toward the Senkaku islands owned by Japan and asking China government boats to protect them. They do not seem afraid of generating a clash in violating Japanese territory. This action seem like a provocation to Japan that will have no other choice than using its military to defend its sovereignty. Check this very good article explaining why the Senkaku islands are Japan Territory. chinhdangvu.blogspot.jp Below the speech from the video : Sunday is the last day of this year's fishing moratorium in the East China Sea. As tensions over the Senkaku Islands continue, Chinese authorities are preparing to protect fishing boats when they reach waters around the islands. Chinese fishermen are set to sail out for a new season's catch. China's fishery patrol boats are also making preparations. The Ministry of Agriculture has issued a statement saying surrounding waters of Senkaku Island and its affiliated islets' are traditional fishing grounds for generations of Chinese fishermen in Zhejiang, Fujian and Taiwan, and urged surveillance ships to offer protection. China says "Japan has repeatedly harassed Chinese fishermen working in Chinese waters over the years". The most recent incident was in September 2010 when a Japanese patrol ship intercepted a Chinese trawler that entered Japan territorial waters. Its Chinese captain was ...

China Focus - Japan's New PM and China Islands Dispute
Shinzo Abe will become Japan's new prime minister after last Sunday's election. And as we know from his previous brief tenure as prime minister from 2006 to 2007, he's hawkish on foreign policy. When it comes to those disputed Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands in the East China Sea, according to Abe they're clearly "Japan's inherent territory." So will Abe's election mean an escalation of the East China Sea dispute? And what will Japan's new prime minister mean for China-Japan relations?

China ships sail in waters near disputed islands
The on-going, territorial dispute between China and Japan, over the ownership of a series of islands. Has seen China send six surveillance ships into the region today, as part of a 'law enforcement' procedure. The islands known by the Chinese as The Diaoyu Islands have historically been part of their territory and fishing grounds. The Japanese know them as the Senkaku Islands. This footage shows a navy officer speaking to a Japanese patrol boat that these islands are Chinese. "The Diaoyu Islands and their affiliated islets have been part of China's inherent territory ever since ancient times. China has possessed sufficient historical facts and legal basis on this. Your ship has already violated the sovereignty and sovereign rights of the People's Republic of China. All the unilateral measures taken by your side are illegal and invalid. Please stop all your offensive actions. Otherwise, you will bear all the consequences arising from this." In response to this move The Japanese government speaking on state TV said it will increase security near disputed islands with China. "We want to strengthen our security in the area, in light of the recent situation and increase the level of co-ordination between the relevant ministries to increase security around the Senkaku islands." The long-running territorial dispute flared last month when Japan detained a group of Chinese activists who had landed on the islands. Then tensions rose even further after Japan announced it planned to ...

Why Taiwan Claims the Diaoyutai (Senkaku) Islands, Protests Japan 林孝信釣魚台列嶼
Complete transcript here: www.intaiwan.de The uninhabited Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea are administered by Japan. Like the People's Republic of China, Taiwan (aka Republic of China) claims the Diayutai Islands, as they are known in Chinese, as its territory. Some Taiwanese groups have been protesting against Japan for decades. With the subject making headlines and the ROC government loudly stating its claims, these groups have recently gained more traction. Lin Shiaw-shin (Lin Hsia-hsin, 林孝信) is one of their most influential leaders. In this interview, he suggests joint patrols by China and Taiwan (05:20) and does not rule out that the conflict might escalate to a point where shots are fired. After WWII, Japan has consistently been one of Taiwan's most important allies. The PRC has never ruled out invading Taiwan and is doing everything it can to keep Taiwan off the diplomatic stage. www.taiwanreporter.com

China Japan relations: Diaoyu/Senkaku islands spat gets nasty
SUBSCRIBE to Next Media Animation:www.youtube.com China and Japan are once again ratcheting up territorial tension over a chain of uninhabited rocks known as the Diaoyu Islands or Senkakus. Facebook: www.facebook.com Webpage: www.nma.tv Twitter @nmatv: twitter.com Tumblr: nmatv.tumblr.com The latest bout of sabre rattling began after a flotilla of ships carrying activists from China, Hong Kong, and Macau landed on the islands on Aug 15. This was followed by a retaliatory landing by Japanese activists before several anti-Japanese street protests occurred in cities across China. Located around 100 miles northeast of Taiwan, the islands were administered by the US after the end of WWII before handed to Japan in 1971, a decision which China disputes, claiming historic records and geographical features show the islands are Chinese. The islands are also claimed by Taiwan. The Diaoyutai/Senkaku spat is just one of a number of territorial spats China is involved in. Beijing also regularly tussles with other Asian nations such as the Philippines and Vietnam over island chains in the South China Sea.
