This CD offers a precious collection of traditional wisdom-songs of the Dakinis, Yogis and Spiritual Masters of Tibet. One of the highlights is the devotional song by Lama Tharchin Rinpoche to the magical intonations of the horse head violin. Amrit Stein arranged this album based upon her many years of extensive practice of Tibetan Buddhism. With her sensitive interpretations of the profound and precious texts and mantras she guides the listener through the many-facets of a rich and enchanting musical journey accompanied by ritual drums, dulcimer, bamboo flute and sitar. Karon Beach
Karon Beach refers to a beach, and the town adjoining it, on the west coast of Phuket, Thailand.
The beach is a popular destination for tourists. Generally quieter than neighbouring Patong Beach, it is especially popular among families and couples, and less popular with singles than Patong. It is also especially popular with Scandinavian tourists, with many businesses catering especially to them.
Karon Beach was heavily damaged by the tsunamis following the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake, especially in its southern regions, but has since largely recovered and by 2008 showed little evidence of tsunami damage.

Mandarava
Mandarava is, along with Yeshe Tsogyal, one of the two principal consorts of Padmasambhava and is considered a female guru-deity in Buddhism. Mandarava, born a princess in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, India in the 8th Century CE, renounced her royal birthright in order to practice the Dharma, and became a fully realized spiritual adept and great teacher.
Origins and spiritual calling
Mandarava (Tib. man da ra ba), whose full name is Mandarava Flower (Tib. man da ra ba me tog) referring to Erythrina Indica, the coral tree, one of the five fabled trees that grow in paradise (or Sukhavati) and has brilliant scarlet flowers, was a princess of Zahor or Mandi.) in the 8th Century CE.
Mandarava was also known as the White Princess (Tib. lha lcam dkar mo) though the blooms of the coral tree are a brilliant scarlet. Mandarava is also the name of one of the Gandharvis, therefore, the name may also be considered that of an Indian devi.
Mandarava was born of Vihardhara, King of Zahor and Queen Mohauki. Her birth was said to be accompanied by miraculous signs and her renunciation and spiritual inclination was marked from a young age. Due to her fabled beauty, many kings from India and China were said to number amongst her marriage suitors. Mandarava wishing to pursue her spiritual calling endeavored to release herself from regal trappings wherein she was intercepted by her father and incarcerated. There is a venerated petrosomatoglyph of Mandarava's footprints located near the dungeon where she was restrained.

Das Hotel in dem wir untergebracht waren heißt Mandarava Resort und befindet sich am Karon Beach. Die Pauschalreise für 14 Tage inkl. Frühstück im Seafan Zimmer mit Flug und Transfer hatte knapp 1.500€ p.P. gekostet. Die Verpflegung ist dort easy, man bekommt überall für wenig Geld thailändische Spezialitäten. Verpflegung und Aktivitäten hatten uns zusätzlich 600€ für 2 Personen gekostet - sprich: Food, Roller mieten 6x (ca. 8€ am Tag), Ausflug Similan Island (100€ f. 2 Pers.), Boot mieten (ca. 30€) usw. Karon Beach & Kata Beach, Phuket Thailand - Day Trip
Karon Beach & Kata Beach are south of Patong Beach on the island of Phuket Thailand. I decided to take a day trip and go check them out. I was told there was a public bus that went that way but once i hit the streets i found out the only public bus went to Phuket Town. The price for that bus is 30 or 35 Baht and the trip can take up to 1 hour or more. I eventually decised to take a taxi. The drivers starting price was 400 Baht to Kata beach. I negotiated with him and finally we agreed on 300 baht and he would stop at Karon beach for 20 minutes so i could get some footage, before taking me to Kata beach. Once i arrived at Kata Beach, i was starving so i found a nice little rastaurant where they have a surf pool. I ordered a Thai Green Curry and the perice was 160 Baht. I sat and ate whil...

Wir haben unseren Urlaub auf Phuket in Thailand im Zeitraum Ende Februar bis Mitte März verbracht.
Das Hotel in dem wir untergebracht waren heißt Mandarava Resort und befindet sich am Karon Beach.
Die Pauschalreise für 14 Tage inkl. Frühstück im Seafan Zimmer mit Flug und Transfer hatte knapp 1.500€ p.P. gekostet. Die Verpflegung ist dort easy, man bekommt überall für wenig Geld thailändische Spezialitäten. Verpflegung und Aktivitäten hatten uns zusätzlich 600€ für 2 Personen gekostet - sprich: Food, Roller mieten 6x (ca. 8€ am Tag), Ausflug Similan Island (100€ f. 2 Pers.), Boot mieten (ca. 30€) usw.
Gebucht haben wir über den Reiseveranstalter Thomas Cook in einem Reisebüro.

Karon Beach is one of the most scenic spots on Phuket Island. The white sandy beach lies next to the crystal clear blue Andaman Sea, decorated with colorful parasols and shady pine trees. You will enjoy sunbathing and seeing the spectacular panoramic view of the sunset beyond the sea.Karon, the second largest of Phuket's principal west coast beaches, is quiet and relaxed. Lots of good local restaurants and a good range of accommodation from small guesthouses to family resorts. The beach has lots of room and is rarely crowded. Snorkelling at the southern end which has a coral reef stretching toward Kata and a small offshore island (Boo Island.) From November to April, Karon offers perfect conditions, but from May to October swimming can be dangerous because of strong undertows, so observe the warning flags.

There are all sorts of barbequed and fried foods as well as loads of soups, salads and fresh fruit available. And there’s masses of seafood in Phuket. You’ll find lots of quality Thai restaurant as well as international restaurants in Karon too.
There’s street food on many street corners in Phuket, be it in Patong, Karon, Kata or Phuket Town and at all of the markets. Thai food markets are one of the best places to buy fresh and authentic Thai food while you travel in Thailand. There are loads of Thai food markets and night market all over Thailand, and heaps around Phuket. At the markets you'll find so many Thai dishes on offer and the foods here are cheap, and so tasty! And in case you’re worried, eating Thai street food is perfectly safe. It’s what the locals eat and it is cooked fresh and sold quickly. I’ve been eating it nearly daily for 4 years in Thailand and my friends who have been to visit and tour Thailand have all eaten it, and none of us have had any problems. Thai street food is some of the best Thai food you’ll find in Thailand!

Karon Beach & Kata Beach, Phuket Thailand - Day Trip

Karon Beach & Kata Beach are south of Patong Beach on the island of Phuket Thailand. I decided to take a day trip and go check them out. I was told there was a ...
Karon Beach & Kata Beach are south of Patong Beach on the island of Phuket Thailand. I decided to take a day trip and go check them out. I was told there was a public bus that went that way but once i hit the streets i found out the only public bus went to Phuket Town. The price for that bus is 30 or 35 Baht and the trip can take up to 1 hour or more.
I eventually decised to take a taxi. The drivers starting price was 400 Baht to Kata beach. I negotiated with him and finally we agreed on 300 baht and he would stop at Karon beach for 20 minutes so i could get some footage, before taking me to Kata beach.
Once i arrived at Kata Beach, i was starving so i found a nice little rastaurant where they have a surf pool. I ordered a Thai Green Curry and the perice was 160 Baht. I sat and ate while watching 2 guys have some fun in the surf pool.
I stayed at Karon beach for about 2 and half hours. When i decided to ome home i enquiered about the price of a tuk-tuk fro mkaron to Patong. They lady told me it would cost 500 baht and she did not wamnt to negotiate. I decided to take the public bus from Karon to Kata which cost 35 Baht. I do not reccomend using this public service if you are in a rush or have to be somewhere urgently. It travels very slow. The total time from Karon to Kata on the public bus was about 15-20 minutes.
When i got off the bus at Kata i was quoted 250 for tuk-tuk to Patong Beach. I decided to start walking towards Patong. I walked up this big hill and took some shade outside a Resort. After some minutes i attracted the attention of an empty tuk-tuk. He pulled over and i negotiated 100 Baht back to Patong.
1 thing i miss is the beach deck chairs and umbrellas. These were an awesome thing for Thailand IMO. Now i avoid the beachs as everyone is fighting for the shade but overall i had a good day.
Total cost of transport was 300+35+100= 435 Baht.

Karon Beach & Kata Beach are south of Patong Beach on the island of Phuket Thailand. I decided to take a day trip and go check them out. I was told there was a public bus that went that way but once i hit the streets i found out the only public bus went to Phuket Town. The price for that bus is 30 or 35 Baht and the trip can take up to 1 hour or more.
I eventually decised to take a taxi. The drivers starting price was 400 Baht to Kata beach. I negotiated with him and finally we agreed on 300 baht and he would stop at Karon beach for 20 minutes so i could get some footage, before taking me to Kata beach.
Once i arrived at Kata Beach, i was starving so i found a nice little rastaurant where they have a surf pool. I ordered a Thai Green Curry and the perice was 160 Baht. I sat and ate while watching 2 guys have some fun in the surf pool.
I stayed at Karon beach for about 2 and half hours. When i decided to ome home i enquiered about the price of a tuk-tuk fro mkaron to Patong. They lady told me it would cost 500 baht and she did not wamnt to negotiate. I decided to take the public bus from Karon to Kata which cost 35 Baht. I do not reccomend using this public service if you are in a rush or have to be somewhere urgently. It travels very slow. The total time from Karon to Kata on the public bus was about 15-20 minutes.
When i got off the bus at Kata i was quoted 250 for tuk-tuk to Patong Beach. I decided to start walking towards Patong. I walked up this big hill and took some shade outside a Resort. After some minutes i attracted the attention of an empty tuk-tuk. He pulled over and i negotiated 100 Baht back to Patong.
1 thing i miss is the beach deck chairs and umbrellas. These were an awesome thing for Thailand IMO. Now i avoid the beachs as everyone is fighting for the shade but overall i had a good day.
Total cost of transport was 300+35+100= 435 Baht.
