Jason David Ian Puncheon (born 26 June 1986) is an English professional footballer who plays in midfield for Southampton. He is able to play on the left or right wing and sometimes plays just behind the striker. Following his goal against Everton on his Blackpool debut, he has scored in every division of English league football, scoring for Barnet in League Two, Milton Keynes Dons and Southampton in League One, Millwall in the Championship and Blackpool in the Premier League.

Playing career[link]

Born in Croydon, Greater London, Puncheon began his career with Wimbledon, and moved with the team to Milton Keynes, where the club became Milton Keynes Dons in 2004. He was released in January 2006. He moved to Barnet in June of the same year, after brief spells with Fisher Athletic and Lewes.^[2] He was named FA Cup Player of the Third Round in 2007 and the following season after scoring a succession of brilliant goals (including a last minute 35 yard free kick versus Bradford) was named in the PFA Team of the Season.^[3]

Plymouth Argyle signed Puncheon from Barnet for £250,000; however he endured an unsuccessful 18-month spell at the club, making six league appearances. He was loaned to former club M.K. Dons three times in two years, where he scored 11 goals in 51 appearances.

Southampton[link]

On 30 January 2010, Puncheon joined Southampton which then led to his loan deal at M.K. Dons to be cut short.^[4] He scored his first goal in a 5–1 victory over Walsall, and scored again a just days later, in a 5–0 victory over Huddersfield.

At the start of the 2010–11 season, he was a regular in the first team. However, when Alan Pardew lost his job just days after a 4–0 win away at Bristol Rovers, Southampton hired Nigel Adkins as manager. Under Adkins, he stayed in the first team, but found himself under increasing pressure from Alex Chamberlain for his place. Eventually Adkins lost patience with Puncheon's erratic performances, and dropped him to the bench in favour of 17 year-old Chamberlain, who was later sold to Arsenal for a reported £15m. On 16 November 2010, Puncheon moved on an emergency loan deal to Millwall.^[5] He scored his first goal on his first game for Millwall in their 1–0 victory over Middlesbrough.^[6] On 1 January 2011, Puncheon scored a hat-trick in the 3–0 victory over Crystal Palace.^[7]

On 31 January 2011, Puncheon joined Blackpool on loan until the end of the season.^[8] He made his debut, scoring a goal, at Everton on 5 February.^[9] He scored his second goal against Chelsea on 7 March at Bloomfield Road. Puncheon re-joined the Saints after Blackpool's failed attempt to fight off relegation.^[10] On 31 August 2011, Puncheon joined Queens Park Rangers on loan until 2 January 2012.^[11][12]

He returned to the Saints after his unsuccessful loan spell at QPR,^[13] but on 21 January 2012, he publicly criticised Executive Chairman Nicola Cortese.^[14] However just days later, it was revealed that Puncheon had apologised to Cortese and would be available for selection in the first team.^[15] He then started the next two matches: a 1–1 draw in the FA Cup at Millwall^[16] and a 1–1 draw in the Championship against Cardiff City.^[17]

Mauricio Roberto Pochettino Trossero (born 2 March 1972) is an Argentine retired footballer who played as a central defender, and the current coach of RCD Espanyol.

Over the course of ten seasons, he amassed La Liga totals of 275 games and 13 goals for his main club, Espanyol, playing 18 years as a professional overall.

An Argentine international in the late 90s/early 2000s, Pochettino represented the country at the 2002 World Cup and the 1999 Copa América.

Club career[link]

Born in Murphy, Santa Fe, Pochettino started his professional career with Newell's Old Boys, moving to RCD Espanyol in Spain in 1994–95, as the Catalans had just returned to La Liga. He was an undisputed starter in his six 1/2 season spell, helping the club to the 2000 Copa del Rey.

In January 2001, Pochettino moved to Paris Saint-Germain FC: he was also a regular starter during his stay, and moved for 2003–04 to fellow Ligue 1 outfit FC Girondins de Bordeaux. However, he returned to Espanyol (initially on loan^[1]) midway through his first year^[2] for two 1/2 more seasons, still being regularly used except for his last one, and wrapping up his career, aged 34, with another domestic cup;^[3] in his two spells combined, he appeared in nearly 300 official matches for the club.

In late January 2009, Pochettino became Espanyol's third coach in 2008–09, with the side then ranking third from bottom,^[4] but eventually finishing the season comfortably placed (10th), after the coach inclusively asked for "divine intervention".^[5] He coached nine club players who were his teammates during his last season and, in early June, renewed his link for a further three years.

In the 2009–10 season, Pochettino once again led Espanyol to a comfortable league position, in a campaign where club symbol (and his former teammate) Raúl Tamudo fell completely out of favour in the squad's rotation, even more after the January 2010 arrival of manager compatriot Pablo Osvaldo.

On 28 September 2010, he extended his contract with the club for one more year, until 30 June 2012.^[6]

Pochettino played for Argentina 20 times during four years, and was a participant at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, playing three complete matches as the nation exited in the group stage.

In the second match against England, Italian referee Pierluigi Collina saw him bring down Michael Owen in the box. The resulting penalty was converted by David Beckham, for the game's only goal.^[7]

Anthony James "Tony" Hibbert (born 20 February 1981) is an English footballer, who currently plays for Everton. Originally a midfielder, Hibbert now plays at right back.

Club career[link]

Hibbert was born in Merseyside and brought up in Huyton. Growing up as an Everton supporter, Hibbert joined the club as a boy.^[2] Aged 18, he was a member of the Everton youth team that won the FA Youth Cup in 1998 beating Blackburn Rovers 5–2 on aggregate. Three years later, he made his first team début for the club in a 2–0 win against West Ham United aged 21. A high challenge from Stuart Pearce into Hibbert's chest saw Everton earn a penalty.^[3] In the 2002–03 season, Hibbert was a regular member of the Everton first-team. The ACTIM index rated him the best English right back in the 2004–05 season.^[4]

He missed the end of the 2005–06 season with a hernia problem and his preparations for the 2006–07 season were hampered after he was infected by cryptosporidium parasite.^[5] Hibbert's 2006–07 season was seriously disrupted by injury. He again played regularly in the 2007–08 and in the 2008–09 seasons. He was the victim of a high-profile burglary in 2006.^[6]

As of the 2010–11 season, Hibbert was Everton's current longest-serving player,^[3] the only player who has been at the club throughout the entire reign of current manager David Moyes,^[2] and has appeared in more competitive European games than any other Everton player.^[7] In addition, he has never scored in his professional career, and in December 2009, when Lloyd Doyley scored for Watford, Hibbert became the current player with the longest run of games without scoring. Alongside his commitment to the club, the goal drought has contributed to his cult hero status among Everton fans, to the extent that a banner reading "If Hibbert Scores, We Riot" was displayed at the 2009 FA Cup semi-final.^[8][9]

Fafá de Belém

Fafá de Belém, born Maria de Fátima Palha de Figueiredo in Belém do Pará on August 9, 1956, is a Brazilian singer considered one of the great female singers of MPB (Musica Popular Brasileira). She took her stage name from the city of her birth and in addition to a successful recording career that spans over three decades, it is fair to say that she has been one of the great sex symbols of Brazilian pop music. Her husky mezzo-soprano voice is known for its extensive emotional range, from tender ballads, to sensual love songs, to Portuguese fados all the way to energetic sambas and lambadas.

Fafa made her public debut in her hometown in 1973. In the next year, she performed shows with Zé Rodrix in Rio de Janeiro and with Sérgio Ricardo in Belém and Salvador da Bahia. In the same year, she hit the charts with "Filho da Bahia", then recorded for the soundtrack of the TV Globo soap opera "Gabriela"; she also released her first single that year. In 1976, Fafá de Belém recorded her first LP, "Tamba Tajá", which was praised by critics. In 1984, she became the muse of the movement in favor of free elections in Brazil, singing "Menestrel das Alagoas", written by Milton Nascimento and Fernando Brant, before a million people in Rio de Janeiro. In the same period, her highly popular interpretation of the Brazilian National Anthem at mass gatherings got her into trouble with the ruling military regime that was soon replaced by a popularly elected President.

In 1993, her album "Meu Fado" went platinum in Portugal, one of the countries where she is widely popular. Though not a composer herself, she has recorded memorable covers of Brazil's greatest composers, notably her all-Chico Buarque CD "Tanto Mar" released in 2004. Fafa's 2005 release "Novo Millennium", a compilation of hits and some new material, sold 500,000 copies in its first month in stores.
