A Look at Amazon Vine: Amazon's Advanced Product Review Service
A Look at Amazon Vine: Amazon's Advanced Product Review Service
Here's a 3 minute or so video on Amazon Vine. It's a service that is by invite/acceptance only that allows the members of the Vine community to review products in advance of their release date. The products that can be reviewed are in the hundreds and range from books, to DVDs, to electronics. I think it's a pretty cool service and I've heard you don't even have to return the products that are shipped FREE to you. I like free. Here's a three minute introduction to it! Enjoy!

A desk at an Amazon Warehouse ...
What's the first thing you do when a new video camera arrives? You try it out by videoing your desk/office/living room of course. Only I wasn't the first to do that on my new Sony Bloggie (thanks Amazon Vine) ... it looks like someone in the Amazon warehouse had that pleasure, and recorded their own little video but foolishly forgot to delete it once they put it back in its packaging. I don't know whether to laugh or be cross. Slightly disappointed that the video isn't very exciting. Wonder if the culprit can be identified by the contents of his/her desk?

Sony Bloggie MHSFS1/B Review
Sony Bloggie MHSFS1/B Review
I thought it would be easier to review this device as a video review. I have had the Sony Bloggie now for about two weeks and have used it as a replacement for my normal point and shoot camera. I think Sony made a trade-off on the build quality for better image quality and that is something I can live with. I did not use the Bloggie software that comes with the camera as I view such stuff as bloatware. Overall, I enjoyed the Bloggie and think it is a good value for the price. I received this as part of the Amazon Vine Program.

"It follows a group of adventurers, pioneers and medical volunteers working on two medical boats in one of the most remote and hostile parts of the planet, Amazonia. In one of the most fascinating expeditions of modern times, the group - led by charismatic preacher, Willie McPherson - sets out to create a floating health service for over 100000 people in Peru. Their work is part of charity, The Vine Trust's Amazon Hope Medical Project." For more info on the documentary series, see: www.stv.tv www.vinetrust.org

Peter Gorman writes: "Plants, like everything else, are our co-dwellers in the universe. But man has a special relationship with plants. They provide, and have since the beginning of time, the bulk of our food, our clothing, our shelter. Some provide us with the loveliest scents; some with extraordinary color. Theyre the source of our medicines, their roots work with soil and stone to keep the surface of the earth intact. They go so far as to take the poisonous carbon dioxide that humans exhale and turn it back into human-life-giving oxygen. Thats some relationship. Of course it may be that plants only invented us to distribute their seeds, so Im not suggesting they live to cater to us. But they do provide us with much of what we need to exist on this planet." Ayahuasca the Sacred Vine
Ayahuasca the Sacred Vine
Deep in the heart of the Amazon rainforest grows a sacred vine known for its magical powers ,the vine is known as Ayahuasca , a Quechua word that means 'rope of death' . Those who consume this vine of the soul are bestowed with the ability to commune with spirits , diagnose illness , treat disease ,and even predict the future . Ayahuasca has been used for thousand of years as a tradition of healing people in the Peruvian rainforest .The vine , once given to the shaman , becomes an entrance into a mystical realm where the plant spirits & visions of the jungle reveal to him how to heal , diagnose and council others . To understand the Ayahuasca , first you need to know the jungle and its mystery. The Peruvian jungle is a magical world of myths and legends ; full of sounds , smells , wild animals , with the Amazon plants , rivers and spirits that will take you to another dimension .It has been said that instead of providing complex answers ,the Ayahuasca respects the great mysteries of life and makes them more fertile , it is , in reality, a powerful hallucination that is used to heal in the Peruvian jungle . We went to different places in the Peruvian Amazon and heard different opinions from healers and patients ,each one with his own perspective of the Ayahuasca .This documentary will take you to a parallel world .
