Titan Clydebank

Coordinates: 55°53′50″N 4°24′31″W / 55.8973°N 4.4085°W / 55.8973; -4.4085 Titan Clydebank is a 150-foot-high (46 m) cantilever crane that was built in 1907 at Clydebank, Scotland. It was designed to be used in the lifting of heavy equipment, such as engines and boilers, during the fitting-out of battleships and ocean liners at the John Brown & Company shipyard, then the biggest shipbuilding group in the world. The Category A Listed historical structure was refurbished in 2007 as a tourist attraction and museum about shipbuilding in Clydebank.
A £24,600 order for the crane was placed with a Dalmarnock based engineering company, Sir William Arrol & Co. in 1905. Titan was completed two years later.
In the late 1960s, the yard was incorporated into Upper Clyde Shipbuilders (UCS), which collapsed in 1971. It was bought from the receivers by the Marathon Manufacturing Company for oil rig construction. In 1980 Marathon sold the yard to the French company Union Industrielle et d’Entreprise (UiE). UIE's owners, Bouygues Offshore closed the yard in 2001 and the site was earmarked for redevelopment.

Titan is a neighborhood of Eastern Bucharest, part of Sector 3. It surrounds the Alexandru Ioan Cuza Park, formerly known as "Titan", "I.O.R." (Intreprinderea Optică Română), and "Balta Albă" (The White Pond).
In the 18th and 19th centuries, the plagued used to be thrown into a common pit and covered with quick lime, thus earning its name, the Balta Albă, (White Pond), which gave the name of the neighbourhood. The name of "Titan" comes from a cement factory located here in 20th century.
There are no significant landmarks in the Titan region, the predominant construction type being the communist-type apartment buildings. Transportation is very well worked out, the region being linked to other parts of Bucharest by subway, tram-lines, trolleys, buses and taxis.
Wide boulevards and squares can be found. The most important boulevards are named after Nicolae Grigorescu, Camil Ressu and Theodor Pallady. The latter is a continuation of the Bucharest - Constanţa freeway inside the city. There are several large shopping centres, the biggest ones being Auchan and Cora hypermarkets. The Gloria cinema is the only one in the area and it is sited on the intersection of Baba Novac and Nicolae Grigorescu boulevards.

Ben Bova
Benjamin William Bova (born November 8, 1932) is an American science-fiction author and editor. He is the recipient of six Hugo Awards for Best Professional Editor for his work at Analog Science Fiction in the 1970s.
Ben Bova was born on November 8, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1953, while attending Temple University in Philadelphia, he married Rosa Cucinotta; they had a son and a daughter. He would later divorce Rosa in 1974. In that same year he married Barbara Berson Rose. Barbara Bova died on September 23, 2009.
Bova was an avid fencer in his younger days, and organized Avco Everett's fencing club.[citation needed]
Bova worked as a technical writer for Project Vanguard in the 1950s and later for the Avco Everett Research Laboratory in the 1960s when they did research in lasers and fluid dynamics. At Avco Everett he met Arthur R. Kantrowitz (later of the Foresight Institute).
In 1972, Bova became editor of Analog Science Fiction after John W. Campbell's death in 1971. At Analog, Bova won six Hugo Awards for Best Professional Editor. After leaving Analog in 1978, he went on to edit Omni during 1978-1982.

Michael O'Hearn
Michael (Mike) O'Hearn (born on January 26, 1969) is an American bodybuilder, actor, powerlifter and fitness model. He has been featured on over 470 magazine covers, was Fitness Model of the Year seven times, was a champion in judo and tae kwon do, and was a four-time Mr. Natural Universe title holder. He appears as the gladiator "Titan" on the 2008 revival of American Gladiators; Michael is the only individual to be a Gladiator on both the original (1989-96) ( as Thor ) and the 2008 series. He owns and operates Mike O'Hearn's Signature Fitness.
He has appeared in the movies Barbarian, Keeper of Time, and had a minor supporting role in Death Becomes Her, as well as starred as Clark Kent/Superman in the popular Sandy Collora fan film World's Finest (opposite Clark Bartram as Batman). O'Hearn was also on the American Gladiators-like show Battle Dome from 1999 to 2001 where he played Michael O'Dell. On March 14, 2008, Michael made a guest appearance on the NBC soap opera Days of our Lives, playing a bartender. On July 8, 2008, Michael made a guest appearance on NBC's Celebrity Family Feud as Titan with fellow Gladiators Wolf, Venom, and Jet. On February 4, 2009 Michael made a guest appearance on NBC's Knight Rider (2008 TV series), episode 14 as a cage fighter.

Oliver Kahn
Oliver Rolf Kahn (German pronunciation: [ˈɔ.lɪ.vɐ ˈkʰaːn], byname Der Titan [deɐ̯ ti.ˈtʰaːn] (the Titan); born 15 June 1969) is a former German football goalkeeper. He started his career in the Karlsruher SC Junior team. He had his debut game in the professional squad in 1987. In 1994, he was transferred to Bayern Munich for the fee of 4,600,000 DM, where he played until the end of his career in 2008.
He is one of the most successful German players in recent history, having won eight German championships, six German cups, the UEFA Cup (1996), the UEFA Champions League and the Intercontinental Cup (both 2001). His individual contributions have earned him four consecutive UEFA Best European Goalkeeper awards, three IFFHS World's Best Goalkeeper awards, and two German Footballer of the Year trophies. At the 2002 FIFA World Cup, he became the first and only goalkeeper in the tournament's history to win the Golden Ball.
From 1994 to 2006, Kahn was part of the German national team, in which he played as a starter after the retirement of Andreas Köpke. In the 2002 FIFA World Cup, the team reached the Finals. While the team was several times derided for their poor performance, Kahn's prowess proved to be the deciding factor in several games up until the final, where Germany lost to Brazil 0–2 and Kahn received criticism for two blunders. Nonetheless, he was named the tournament's best player and received the Golden Ball award.

Titan (dog)
Titan (b. 2005) is an American male white Great Dane who is the previous holder of the Guinness World Record as the world's tallest dog. His official height is 107.3 centimetres (42.2 in) from the floor to his shoulder. The previous holder was another Great Dane, Gibson who measured 107.2 centimetres (42.2 in), and died in August 2009. During the nomination process, Titan, who suffers from several health conditions, fought off competition from a Newfoundland from North Dakota and another Great Dane, from Arizona. On February 22, 2010 Titan was dethroned as world's tallest dog by Giant George, a Great Dane from Arizona.
Diana Taylor, his owner, was living in Atlanta when she adopted Titan in 2005 from the Middle Tennessee Great Dane Rescue. At the time he was three months old, and was already 55 lbs. His owner has a second rescue Great Dane, a female named Ari, who is also deaf and is 38 inches (97 cm) tall. She also owns a third dog, a nine-year-old German Shepherd named Diego.
Titan has a number of health problems, including being epileptic, deaf and partially blind. He is trained to respond to commands through touch although previously when he could see out of one eye, his owner had taught him sign language, and he requires acupuncture and chiropractic sessions every three weeks to ease his problems. Because of his size, he is often mistaken by children as a horse or cow.

/ˈtɪʃən/) was an Italian painter, the most important member of the 16th-century Venetian school. He was born in Pieve di Cadore, near Belluno (in Veneto), in the Republic of Venice. During his lifetime he was often called da Cadore, taken from the place of his birth.
Recognized by his contemporaries as "The Sun Amidst Small Stars" (recalling the famous final line of Dante's Paradiso), Titian was one of the most versatile of Italian painters, equally adept with portraits, landscape backgrounds, and mythological and religious subjects. His painting methods, particularly in the application and use of color, would exercise a profound influence not only on painters of the Italian Renaissance, but on future generations of Western art.
During the course of his long life, Titian's artistic manner changed drastically but he retained a lifelong interest in color. Although his mature works may not contain the vivid, luminous tints of his early pieces, their loose brushwork and subtlety of polychromatic modulations are without precedent in the history of Western art.

Makoto Saito, better known by his stage name K-ness (born April 16, 1974 in Nerima, Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese professional wrestler for Dragon Gate.

Early years[link]
He debuted in Michinoku Pro around the same time as Gamma, and then went on to wrestle on the Japanese indy circuit.
Toryumon[link]
He joined Toryumon in 1999 as MAKOTO, with a vampire style gimmick. As MAKOTO he was a member of the legendary Crazy Max stable. However, he did not get along with TARU, and eventually was kicked out of the stable after losing to TARU in a loser leaves match.
He returned to Toryumon as Darkness Dragon, a takeoff on the Ultimo Dragon lineage, joining heel stable M2K. With the help of his stablemates he became a main event performer. He had a bitter feud with Dragon Kid that ended in 2002 with Kid winning the feud after winning a best of 3 falls mask vs mask match. Darkness Dragon unmasked and briefly went face, forming a face stable called Do FIXER with Kid and Ryo Saito. His face turn, however, was a ruse designed to cause dissention between the faces. He would soon turn heel again, joining the remnants of M2K and revealing that they were the real Do FIXER. He remasked and reinvented himself as K-ness, and engaged in a major feud and rivalry with YOSSINO.
In November 2003 he suffered a major shoulder injury which caused him to miss out on the majority of 2004, and the switch from Toryumon to Dragon Gate.
Dragon Gate[link]
By the time K-ness returned, Ultimo Dragon had left the promotion and taken the Toryumon trademark with him.
On returning, K-ness re-united members from the various M2K factions that had split up over the past few years and created Final M2K. He had a relatively quiet 2005. He faced long term rival YOSSINO for the Open the Brave Gate title, but was defeated.
In 2006, he spent a lot of time on the shelf again, recovering from nagging injuries. When he returned at the end of the year, he was no longer himself in terms of his health, and began to wrestle in the opening matches on Dragon Gate cards to reduce the possibility of re-injuring himself. He then held an office position as field manager and booker.
In late 2007 he began to take matches in the upper card again. Teaming with Masaaki Mochizuki and Don Fujii, he ended up with a reign as one third of the Open the Triangle Gate champions. After dropping the titles, K-ness primarily returned to his background role. During that time, he unofficially allied with the "Over 30" veterans of Mochizuki, Fujii and Magnitude Kishiwada, and occasionally took upper card matches with them.
In 2009, K-ness began wrestling as 'X' although no one knew who exactly X was. Genki Horiguchi eventually called out X, who turned out to be K-ness. He stopped teaming with the other veterans and joined Real Hazard, reuniting the K-neSuka team with Susumu Yokosuka. On January 11, 2010, he defeated Naoki Tanisaki to become the Open the Brave Gate Champion.
On January 10, 2010, Genki Horiguchi announced that Real Hazard would start winning matches through teamwork rather than illegal tactics. He initially started out alone on this mission, but six days later, Yokosuka and K-ness decided to help him in his pursuit of clean fights. However, they all found themselves on the losing end of trios matches, with Horiguchi taking the fall every time, and a divide formed in Real Hazard over the clean fights issue, with them on one side and Yasushi Kanda, Kzy, and Takuya Sugawara - who wanted to win through illegal methods - on the other. On February 10, after KAGETORA accidentally cost Sugawara a shot at becoming the next challenger for the Open the Dream Gate Title, tensions boiled over. Yokosuka and K-ness left Real Hazard, along with Horiguchi. K-neSuka also agreed to stop teaming with Horiguchi, since they all did not like how Horiguchi was losing constantly, and they all felt that that was preventing K-neSuka from getting to the top of the tag team division.
On February 27, K-ness dropped the Brave Gate title to Super Shisa. On May 13, 2010, K-ness and Susumu Yokosuka defeated Cyber Kong and Shingo Takagi to win the Dragon Gate Open the Twin Gate Championship. After the longest reign in the title's history, with four successful defenses, K-ness and Yokosuka lost the Open the Twin Gate Championship to Gamma and Naruki Doi on November 23, 2010.[1] On December 4 K-ness and Susumu Yokosuka joined World-1. In a match on February 6, 2011, K-ness suffered a dislocated right shoulder and took time off to heal. On April 14, 2011, World-1 was forced to disband after losing a match to the Blood Warriors.[2]
