David James Abbruzzese (born May 17, 1968) is an American musician who was the drummer for the American rock band Pearl Jam from 1991 to 1994. He replaced drummer Matt Chamberlain in 1991, shortly before the release of the band's debut album, Ten. Abbruzzese played on the band's next two records, Vs. and Vitalogy.
Dave Abbruzzese was born in Stamford, Connecticut, but grew up in Mesquite, Texas, where he attended Vanston Jr. High. Abbruzzese grew up drumming on his dad's tackle boxes. While living at home the only thing in his bedroom (besides a bed) was his drum set. Abbruzzese dropped out of North Mesquite High School at an early age and began to focus on playing more than ever. He started playing in the Texas music scene, performing in such bands as Segueway, Flaming Hemorrhoids, and Course of Empire, and along the way, he formed a band called Dr. Tongue, a three-piece, funk-influenced band that gigged in the Dallas and Denton area.
Pearl Jam is an American rock band, formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1990. Since its inception, the band's line-up has comprised Eddie Vedder (lead vocals), Mike McCready (lead guitar), Stone Gossard (rhythm guitar) and Jeff Ament (bass). The band's fifth member is drummer Matt Cameron (also of Soundgarden), who has been with the band since 1998. Boom Gaspar (piano) has also been a session/touring member with the band since 2002. Drummers Dave Krusen, Matt Chamberlain, Dave Abbruzzese and Jack Irons are former members of the band.
Formed after the demise of Gossard and Ament's previous band, Mother Love Bone, Pearl Jam broke into the mainstream with its debut album, Ten, in 1991. One of the key bands in the grunge movement of the early 1990s, over the course of the band's career, its members became noted for their refusal to adhere to traditional music industry practices, including refusing to make proper music videos or give interviews, and engaging in a much-publicized boycott of Ticketmaster. In 2006, Rolling Stone described the band as having "spent much of the past decade deliberately tearing apart their own fame."

Copyright goes to: Pearl Jam & SME A tribute to one of the most Influential drummers ever. Abbruzzese's approach to the drums has always been a high energy, power induced with incredible groove and he is also known to be a particularly hard hitter. His trademarks include heavy use of splash & china cymbals, the double-stroke roll, fast right foot and a very tight snare. Dave's drumming is extremely unique to his playing. When you hear him on a song you immediately know it is Dave Abbruzzese and no one else. Thanks to Youtube, gndcd402 & pjvideoguy.

For Pearl Jam’s second performance, Stone introduces them with “Once again, Pearl Jam”, leading to Porch. Ed has changed shirts, into one of his common gold shirts showing a coat hanger on the front (a Pro-Choice symbol). Being censored, Ed snuffs the “fuck” in the first line. Along with Stone, Mike is now playing a Sunburst Gibson Les Paul. The band keeps a frenetic pace through the verses and Mike stops over in front of Dave, making faces with Dave smiling and laughing. The camera stays on Mike for his solo, showcasing his playing including his trait of toggling the rhythm and lead switch back and forth. Leading up to the last chorus, Ed improvs with: There’s something, there’s something… A woman has every right to choose, to choose, to choose Choose for herself … As the music builds, ...

You guys can also comment below on which song would you like to make me a comparison too. I'm thinking about Even Flow as next as it would include Krusen, Chamberlain, Abbruzzese, Irons, and Cameron just picking the best audio i can get from each drummer.
