Benjamin Orr/ The Legacy: This group is in celebration of a musical legacy covering nearly 40 years. Benjamin Orr (born Benjamin Orzechowski) was the founding father, co-lead singer and bass player of the 1980's Supergroup, THE CARS. Benjamin is best known for his contributions to THE CARS, but also recorded his 1986 solo LP entitled "The Lace". He was an accomplished artist and musician and played drums, keyboards, rhythm guitar and bass. Benjamin toured as a solo artist with his own line up and band, "ORR", throughout the mid 1990's to his untimely death in 2000. A man of extreme talent both on and off stage; he stole the hearts of thousands with his beautiful charm, charisma, striking good looks, as well as an incredible singing voice. Benjamin left a legacy behind that will never be forgotten... music that is timeless; friends, family and fans who loved him and admired him. The man who was so elegant, simple and classic lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in 2000 leaving many fans, dear friends and a beautiful son, his spitting image, broken hearted. Bart the bear's Legacy
Bart is one of the most accomplished animal actors of all time, starring in many of films including: Dr. Dolittle, The bear, clan of the cave bear, The edge, and pretty much any other film in need of a good bear. He was born in 1977 at a zoo and soon after adopted by Doug and Lynn Seus. They developed a huge bond with bart and gave him probably the best life any bear could have. Bart died in 2000 due to cancer at the age of 23. He was over 9 feet tall and weighed 1780 pounds. It's amazing that doug wrestled and played with this bear on a daily bases for a span of many years without ever getting seriously injured. Doug understood how to interact with bart such as you ALWAYS keep bart happy. He also blew into his nose to keep calm him down if he ever got to excited. No matter how much love you know wild animal has for you, it is important to remember that they can hurt you even if they don't want to... Also a cool website members.tripod.com

2000 Subaru Outback Fuel Pump Assy
This video shows how I tackled the task of removing and installing the fuel pump assembly from my 2000 Subaru Outback. A long ways from perfect, but Im hoping someone might get some use out of it. If nothing else, I had a good time making it. Anyways, as the title says, the car in the video is a 2000 Subaru Outback Wagon (OBW) with a little over 150000 miles. Runs great, but the fuel pump finally quit a week ago. While I was replacing the fuel pump, I discovered that an o-ring was failing. With the new fuel pump installed, the car was running again, but took 2-3 attempts before it would start. Since I need to pull the entire fuel pump assy to replace this $2 o-ring, I might as well make a video showing the steps I took. I know there are much better ways to accomplish this task, but this was the way that worked for me. Enjoy.

Abstract: We propose a method to realistically insert synthetic objects into existing photographs without requiring access to the scene or any additional scene measurements. With a single image and a small amount of annotation, our method creates a physical model of the scene that is suitable for realistically rendering synthetic objects with diffuse, specular, and even glowing materials while accounting for lighting interactions between the objects and the scene. We demonstrate in a user study that synthetic images produced by our method are confusable with real scenes, even for people who believe they are good at telling the difference. Further, our study shows that our method is competitive with other insertion methods while requiring less scene information. We also collected new illumination and reflectance datasets; renderings produced by our system compare well to ground truth. Our system has applications in the movie and gaming industry, as well as home decorating and user content creation, among others.

I've been interested in taking my Light Study photo series and evolving them into motion pieces. I shot a lot of footage for a VJ gig for FITC San Francisco. So I edited together those stop motion sequences, mashed up some audio from the Tron Legacy trailers, and out came Light Drive.
The video is stop motion, so every frame is an individually shot photograph. Each photograph is a long exposure photo, with exposures reaching up to 20 seconds in some cases.
To control the lights, I used an Arduino controlled via bluetooth to drive a stepper motor. The stepper motor controls the movements of the lights remotely from Processing.
The light sources include cold cathode case lights, EL wire, lasers and more.

Old-time skaters ENESS jumped at the chance to bring skateboarding into the future by blending interactivity and high-tech mastery for the Tron Legacy premiere.
Each rider is equipped with an ipod and our custom-built app to measure their air time and trigger graphics whilst in the air and on landing.
A custom ramp was fabricated from steel to support a floating platform.
