Lakhan Thapa Memorial Day in new York.
New York- Last Sunday on 12th February 2012 the federation of Indigenous People of Nepal in America along with Magar Association USA, Inc. held the 135th Lakhan Thapa Memorial day at the Himalayan Yak Restaurant in Jackson Heights in Queens, New York. Lakhan Thapa Magar was born in 1835 and hung by the Rana Regime in 1877. He was a Nepali revolutionary and Freedom fighter fighting against the Oppression and Tyrannical rule of the Rana Dynasty. He was also conferred the honor of being known as "the first martyr of Nepal". He has been labeled such by the Nepali Magar ethnic and Indigenous group as he was one of the very first revolutionaries to take a stand and inspire a resistance to the government in Nepal namely: the rule of the Rana Dynasty 1846 -1950. He rebelled against the rule of Jang Bahadur Rana. He was supported by his close friend Jay Singh Chunni Magar. Lakhan Thapa declared himself king of his free state.

Rana Sana Ullah using people's fund into election campaigns and spreading curruption
Rana Sana Ullah corrupting fund and instead of using them honestly he is using fund for election campaigns. This project should be completed 100 %. This project is completed 100% in books but not in reality. This dirty channel should be covered because, almost 3 children died by sinking in this channel each years no human right organization even care about it. Only 3.5 Km long pipe and he has spend almost 4 Cror 11 Lac Rupees on this and complete but as in video shown nothing has done. Same as many road he has constructed but in reality nothing has been done but corruption.

A Lost Village in the Himalayas
Nepal is a small land locked country hidden between Indian and China boarded by Tibet. Today, most people around the world know very little about our country like, the world's tallest mountain, Mount Everest, Chitwan National Park, Kathmandu, the capital city and so on. But almost nothing is known about hundreds of Mountain Villages that bestow ancient cultures that shine around the Himalayas. Brainwashed by the magazines, Television and comforted news media, there has hardly been any true stories told about the villagers who have been struggling for centuries while undergoing 104 years of Rana Dynasty, when citizens were restricted from getting any of their education in the country except the royal families, filthy corruption, the deadliest cheating on Poor. Under going every days' political chaos villagers' stories have always been lost and ignored. Therefore, as a Native villager of Ulleri Village, I have taken almost eighteen years of journey away from our village to finally overcome all obstacles in putting my documentary film about the life of a village in the Himalayas, which is to share with rest of the world.

Recently, a book was published in Nepal named Raktakunda recounting the massacre. It looks at the incident through the eyes of one of the surviving witnesses, Queen Mother Ratna's personal maid, identified in the book as Shanta. The book, which the author says is a "historical novel", posits that two men masked as Crown Prince Dipendra fired the shots that led to the massacre. Shanta's husband, Trilochan Acharya, also a royal palace employee, was killed along with 10 royal family members, including the entire family of King Birendra. In addition to details of the royal massacre, Shanta alleged many other cover-ups by the royal family, including a claim that the previous king King Mahendra committed suicide. first day of class
June 1st was the first class meeting of "the main event". I will be doing other adapted versions of critical care nursing training during this trip, for example I will do a five-day version for the 30 BN students here at LNC. I will also go to places outside the Valley. But the final roster has 75 students as well as another American expatriate from Florida named Shirley Evans who has taken time from her own teaching to join this. They came from many neighborhoods of Kathmandu and represent many hospitals. The hosts from LNC have been wonderful to me. The physical building is a palace leftover from the "Rana Era" and everyone seemed to know exactly which member of the Rana dynasty lived here (name escapes me right at this moment). This is the former ballroom, in all it's unreconstructed grandeur. crystal chandelier. balcony. pressed tin walls. enjoy.

city of bhaktapur.mp4
Introduction to Bhaktapur: Located about 20 km east of Kathmandu in the Kathmandu Valley, Bhaktapur is known as the 'City of Devotees', the 'City of Culture', the 'Living Heritage', and 'Nepal's Cultural Gem'. It is one of the 3 royal cities in the Kathmandu Valley. The others are Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, and Patan. Bhaktapur is filled with monuments, most terra-cotta with carved wood columns, palaces and temples with elaborate carvings, gilded roofs, open courtyards. The city is dotted with pagodas and religious shrines. Lying along the ancient trade route between India and Tibet, Bhaktapur is surrounded by mountains and provides a magnificent view of the Himalayas.Founded in the 12th century by King Ananda Malla (according to various chronicles), Bhaktapur was the capital city of the Greater Malla Kingdom until the 15th century and was an independent kingdom from then until the 18th century. The last three Malla rulers of Bhaktapur were Jitamitra Malla, Bhupatindra Malla, and Ranjit Malla. These rulers played key roles in building the palaces and temples of Durbar Square. In 1744, Prithvi Narayan Shah, descendent of Dravya Shah, who was the founder of the Gorkha dynasty, began a conquest march in the Kathmandu Valley, capturing and unifying Kathmandu, Patan, Bhaktapur, and the smaller towns of the Valley under one rule. After a period of instability and a bloody coup in 1846, Jang Bahadur Kunwar Ranaji took control of Nepal. His Rana dynasty ruled Nepal until ...
