INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT BULGARIA
21 INTERESTING FACTS : 1.Bulgaria is one of the oldest European countries and is the only one that hasn't changed its namе ever since it was founded. 2.According to the statistics , Bulgaria ranks third in Europe only after Greece and Italy for the number of its valuable archeological monuments. 3.The recognition of the autocephalous Bulgarian Patriarchate by the Patriarchate of Constantinople in 927 AD makes the Bulgarian Orthodox Church the oldest autocephalous Slavic Orthodox Church in the world. 4.The bulgarian autocephalous status preceded the autocephaly of the Serbian Orthodox Church (1219) by 292 years and of the Russian Orthodox Church (1589) by 662 years. 5.In 716 AD , the Bulgarians saved EUROPE from islamization .In 716 AD, the Bulgarians under the command of Kanasubigi Tervel came forward at the gates of Constantinople to help the Byzantines against the muslim threat. In a crucial battle in 718 AD the Bulgarian cavalry defeated the Arabs. "The Bulgarians assaulted the Arabs, slaying many of them... They were more afraid of the Bulgarians than of the Byzantines," reads the account of an Arab chronicler of Kanas Tervel's sweeping victory which left between 60 000 and 90 000 (by different sources) Arabs dead. This blow put an end to the muslim Arabs attempting to penetrate into the Old Continent through the Balkan Peninsula. The western chronicians called Tervel "The saviour of Europe" ! 6.The Bulgarians were the first people to use the Cyrillic alphabet ...

Bulgarian prophet Milyo on planet X, the pole shift 2012, his alien encounters and space travel
PRESS CC button for ENGLISH SUBTITLES! The Bulgarian prophet bai Milyo has out of body experiences since 1992 when he started seeing the wall through the magazine he was reading. He predicts a major event in May 2012 where a space body will pass nearby Earth causing a pole-shift and 3-5.000 m long wave. He is talking about the American psychotronic weapons and the annihilation of souls on higher plane of existence. On 20th May 2012 a solar eclipse is expected to align Earth Mercury Neptune and Alcyone of the Pleiades. Probably it is connected somehow to the prediction.

Anonymous - Message to Bulgaria
Greetings Bulgaria. I guess you know who we are, but if you do not know - we are Anonymous. We are the largest force in the world. Force greater and mightier than all the governments of this Earth. We are the people who created you. We are the people that you meet on the street every day. We are those that you do not expect - by the seller in the store to the restaurant cleaner. We are not an organization or club. We are much more than this - we are united. We are people from all over the world, gathered by the idea of justice and freedom. Anonymous are not just the people on the Internet, they are everywhere. You knew for the upcoming protests of 02/11/2012, but nevertheless you tried once again to throw sand in the people's eyes. Once again you try to manipulate people by experienced psychological methods. ACTA can not be signed with reservations, ACTA is an international trade agreement, based on international law. Countries and the state Unions signed the contract, shall strive by him to establish uniform standards in the fight against pirated copies of products and copyright violations, both physically and digital products or services. Signed by Bulgaria will lead to its implementation at full power, which would violate human rights and be contrary to the Constitution of Bulgaria, that each state employee must comply unconditionally. Article 3, paragraph 1 of the Constitution of Bulgaria provides: The state serves the people, such as: protect its interests and ...

The Bulgarians
"The Bulgarians, these are the people, who had everything they wished for. A nation, where the one who buys the nobility with the blood of the enemy receives titles. A nation, where the battle-field brings glory to the family, because for them the nobler is considered the one whose weapon was blood-stained in a battle. They are a nation, to whom before the battle with you, there hasn't been an enemy, who could resist them..." Magnus Felix Ennodius

Plovdiv - Bulgaria
Plovdiv is the second largest city in Bulgaria after Sofia, best known after the largest fairgrounds in the Balkans, Plovdiv Fair, which hosts many important yearly events such as International Technical Fair, International Consumer Goods and Technologies Fair and specialised exhibitions AGRA, VINARIA, MEDICUS, DENTO, GALENIA, PrintCom and Foodtech. So if Plovdiv is famous as a commercial centre, why would it be attractive for tourists? Plovdiv is set on the banks of Maritsa River, strategically located at the crossroads of two important traffic corridors. Many nations passed Plovdiv throughout its history: Romans (they founded Trimontium), Turks and of course Bulgarians, and each of them left remarkable traces that can still be admired today. Plovdiv's main sights include a very well preserved Roman theatre from the 2nd century, large enough to accommodate 3000 people. It is still used during Plovdiv's festivals. And then there is so called Old Town, a part of the town built at the site of the ancient Trimontium, characterised by beautifully preserved Bulgarian houses from the 19th century. We visited Plovdiv on a day trip from Sofia. It isn't too far; a train journey takes about 2 hours. We were unlucky with the weather. It was rather gloomy, with an occasional raindrop splashing on us from dark, heavy clouds. But we still enjoyed Plovdiv very much, the stroll around the Old Town being one of the highlights. The houses in Old Town were inspired by the baroque, but their ...

Bulgarian Split Squat
www.muscleevo.net The Bulgarian Split Squat is one of my favourite leg exercises. Not only is it a great exercise for working the thighs and hips, it will develop both flexibility and balance. You can also apply a large load to your legs without the compression forces associated with heavy squatting. If you've never done it before, youll be limping around for days - this exercise is almost unrivalled in its ability to generate extreme muscle soreness. Although the Bulgarian Split Squat can be done with a barbell across your shoulders, I prefer using dumbbells as they make it a bit easier to balance. You can also use a weighted rucksack, sandbag or heavy chains draped across your shoulders. Place one foot well in front of the other with your rear foot on a bench. You might need to experiment a little to get the right stride length. If it's too long, your range of movement will be limited. If it's too short you'll end up putting a lot of stress on your front knee. Keeping your body upright and your chest up, slowly descend until you feel a stretch in your rear thigh. If the stretch is uncomfortable, try using a lower bench. Make sure that the movement is down rather than forwards. Focus on pushing upwards through your front heel to return to the start position. Complete all the repetitions on one leg before switching to the other leg to perform the same number of repetitions. That counts as one set. If you're using a sufficiently heavy weight, chances are you'll need to ...

Why Israeli Tourists Vacation in Bulgaria: Chabad Rabbi Talks on Burgas Airport Terrorist Attack
In the wake of Wednesday's terrorist attack in Bulgaria that killed five Israeli's INTERPOL officers have arrived to the Burgas airport to assist local authorities in finding answers to unanswered questions, including the identity of the suicide bomber. While the Burgas airport has reopened and normal activities have slowly stated to resume, vacationing Israelis in Bulgaria say are moving on from their grief and that the terror attack will not deter them from returning to their favourite holiday spot. Israeli tourist Josef: "We were staying in the hotel all of the two days. Now it's time to go out. We have another two days. We want to go out and clear our heads. And believe me, it will be one week that Israeli tourists won't come here but after one week, they will come here, everything will be good. And we're having fun." Israeli tourist Audi: "After one week, we have to go to work, so we have to enjoy until the end. No matter what happens. I told them (friends) OK, so let's try to bring some new smile, so we go and have fun. But it's still here, we're sad." A local Chabad Lubavitcher rabbi believes the attack, which Israel has blamed on Iran's proxy Hezbollah, won't deter future Jewish holidaymakers. Rabbi Chaim Tvardovich: "Israelis are going to keep on coming here. The Bulgarians are very friendly, plus when I meet people, they say how sorry they are about the incident. And we also met with the Bulgarian president who also gave his condolences to the Israeli people ...

Tableau Vivant - Dumbo Arts Festival - powerHouse Arena
Mini-Tableau #5 took place at powerHouse Arena during the Dumbo Arts Festival on September 25th, 2010. Again, 36 models were directed into implausible interaction. Models followed live direction, as vocalists and violins emerged from within the living picture. The performance featured an original a Cappella score by Sarah Small and Rima Fand, and stage direction by Adam J. Thompson.
Directly following the performance, a panel of choreographers, curators, and art historians (Jill Sigman, Mashinka Firunts, Danny Snelson, and Natalie Galazka) led a discussion about the contemporary intersection of performance and photography. The panel was moderated by Elizabeth Barragan and was curated by Lindsay Comstock.

Anonymous - A Message to Bulgaria 29.04.2012
Greetings Bulgaria! We are Anonymous. The number of protesting and dissatisfied people rise all over the world, while at the same time it decreases in Bulgaria. The national protests held in your country are a good example, how they have censored you. The first one was covered by the national media and got publicity. The second one, however, was totally ignored. Of course, you have a choice whether to rise or not, but let us explain to you that choice. The choice is never based on the personal freedom. That is so because based on the Choice a person has rights. These rights are taken away by the society, which puts you in the position to choose whether to fight for the society or not. Every choice is determined by the environment in which the person is living in, and it's based on the lack of freedom. If a person were free, he would not have a choice. While growing up we are told who to be, how to dress, what to buy, how to act, how to be happy. How would you like to be shaped by preset matrix, to be taught how to consume till your last day? Can you honestly justify that, because things are going well for you, to remain passive to the effort for a better world without so much suffering? Where is our compassion and empathy? Where is our intrinsic passion for life? If we, as humans, really do have souls, sense, logic and compassion, I dare to say, that to accept the unacceptably unjustifiable, is totally unacceptable. Fellow Bulgarians, Unite and show that you cannot be ...
