Artforum is an international monthly magazine specializing in contemporary art.

The magazine is published ten times a year, September through May, along with an annual summer issue. Characterized by its 10½ inch square format, with each cover devoted to the work of a single artist, the magazine is widely known as a decisive voice in its field.^{[citation needed]}

As well as in-depth articles and reviews of contemporary art, the magazine features book reviews, columns on cinema and popular culture, and numerous full-page advertisements from prominent galleries around the world.

Artforum was founded in 1962 in San Francisco by John P. Irwin, Jr. The next publisher/owner Charles Cowles moved the magazine to Los Angeles in 1965 before finally settling it in New York City in 1967, where it maintains offices today. The move to New York also encompassed a shift in the style of work championed by the magazine, moving away from California style art to Late modernism, then the leading style of art in New York City. The departure of Philip Leider as editor-in chief in 1971; and the tenure of John Coplans as the new editor-in chief roughly coincided with a shift towards more fashionable trends and away from Late modernism. A focus on Minimal Art, Conceptual Art, Body art, Land art and Performance art provided a platform for artists such as Robert Smithson, Donald Judd, Sol LeWitt and others. In 1980 after opening his own gallery in New York City Charles Cowles divested himself of the magazine. Sister magazine Bookforum was started in 1994.

A book by Amy Newman chronicling the early history of the magazine, Challenging Art: Artforum 1962-1974, was published by Soho Press in 2000.

Sarah Thornton's documentary book Seven Days in the Art World (2008) contains a chapter titled "The Magazine" which is set in the offices of Artforum. In it, Thornton says, "Artforum is to art what Vogue is to fashion and Rolling Stone was to rock and roll. It’s a trade magazine with crossover cachet and an institution with controversial clout."

Mike Kuchar (born August 31, 1942, New York City) is an American underground filmmaker and actor. Kuchar is notable for his low-budget and camp films such as Sins of the Fleshapoids and The Craven Sluck.^[1]

Biography[link]

Raised in The Bronx, he made his first films as a teenager in the 1950s with his twin brother George Kuchar and participated in New York’s underground film scene in the 1960s and 1970s. Mike divided his time between New York City and his brother's San Francisco apartment until 2007, when he moved to San Francisco permanently. George died on 6 September 2011 in San Francisco.^[2]

It Came From Kuchar, a documentary film of the life of George and Mike Kuchar by Jennifer Kroot, premiered at the South by Southwest film festival on 14 March 2009.^[3]

In the past 10 years, Kuchar has focused on more intimate one person expressionistic films. At the Vienna International Film Festival in 2009, he unveiled two short films, Swan Song and Dumped. Swan Song features the pain of a young man tormented by his sensuality who is painted as an animal writhing in pain, and Dumped stars veteran stage actress Deirdre McGill in a portrait of a woman engaged in a deadly love triangle. Kuchar is currently teaching in the film program at the San Francisco Art Institute.

The Kuchar brothers collaborated on a book, Reflections from a Cinematic Cesspool (1997), a humorous memoir discussing four decades of filmmaking and including an introduction by director John Waters.^[4]

Nodiko (Nodar) Tatishvili was born on November 5, 1986 year in a family of Polygraphists.

Biography[link]

He was 6 years old when he made his first appearance in the Tbilisi Great Concert Hall. He was a soloist of children ensemble. At the age of eight he won the national contest, and already at age 9 singing with the ensemble Iveria in the musical Two Dwarfs. During the "mutation period" Nodiko took a part in the television project "School of Nutsa" and after that many popular composers and musicians seriously got interested in him. In the periods from 2005 to 2009, Nodiko has participated in many prestigious music festivals and projects, but in 2009 he was featured in the popular Georgian TV show Geostar, where he won and became GEOSTAR 2009(pop idol 2009) After the victory in Geostar Nodiko Tatishvili became the most popular and demanded young singer in the whole Georgia. after that he went to uk (London) where he had vocal classes at the musical institute where the teachers and student also had been inspired with his vocal. He is working on a debut album now, which will be launched in May 2011.

Sebastian Bieniek (born April 24, 1975) is a German film director, artist, playwright and author, He was born in Czarnowasy (Poland).

Biography[link]

Sebastian Bieniek spent his childhood in Poland, before at age 13 he and his family emigrated to Germany. His interest in art, specifically painting, began very early and he had participated in numerous exhibitions by the age of 20. Braunschweig Collage of Art followed, with a major in photography, followed by a master of arts at the Berlin University of the Arts. His first videos were made at the Berlin University of the Arts. He worked abroad thereafter and received a working scholarship from the German-French youth work in Rennes, where many works were completed. Sebastian Bieniek began studies at the German Film and Television Academy in 2002. 2011 Sebastian Bieniek wrote the book REALFAKE

Joel M. Stern is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Stern Stewart & Co., and the creator and developer of Economic Value Added (EVA). He is a recognized authority on financial economics, corporate performance measurement, corporate valuation and incentive compensation and is a pioneer and leading advocate of the concept of shareholder value.^[1] He is also active in academia, and in the media.

After graduating from the University of Chicago's graduate program in Finance and Economics, he joined the Chase Manhattan Bank where he ultimately ran Chase Financial Policy, their global consulting operation. During this time, he developed EVA. In 1982, after 18 years at Chase Manhattan, he started Stern Stewart as "[t]he bank didn’t have the vision [he] felt was necessary to turn a consulting practice based on the economic model of the firm into a successful business."^[2]

He is the author of two books and the co-author of six others - all in financial economics. He is the executive editor of the Journal of Applied Corporate Finance and is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Financial Management and Analysis.

He teaches at or has served on the faculties of several graduate business schools in America and abroad, including as a professor at Columbia University, Carnegie Mellon University, The University of Chicago, the University of Cape Town, Singapore Management University and Old Dominion. He is also part of the Executive Advisory Committee of the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester and is a member of the University of Chicago's Council on the Graduate School of Business.^[3]

His media involvements include being the financial policy columnist for the London Sunday Times and The Financial Times. He has also written for the Wall Street Journal editorial page, the New York Times and Fortune amongst others. He also has appeared on national business news programs, including CNN’s Moneyline and Wall Street Week, where he was a rotating panelist for 17 years.

He holds an MBA (1964) from Chicago.
