  Broadway Theatre
  Broadway theatre, commonly called simply Broadway, refers to theatrical performances presented in one of the 40 professional theatres with 500 or more seats located in the Theatre District centered along Broadway, and in Lincoln Center, in Manhattan in New York City. Along with London's West End theatre, Broadway theatre is widely considered to represent the highest level of commercial theatre in the English-speaking world.
  The Broadway theatre district is a popular tourist attraction in New York. According to The Broadway League, Broadway shows sold approximately $1.081 billion worth of tickets in calendar year 2011, compared with $1.037 billion for 2010. Attendance in 2011 was 12.13 million.
  New York did not have a significant theatre presence until about 1750, when actor-managers Walter Murray and Thomas Kean established a resident theatre company at the Theatre on Nassau Street, which held about 280 people. They presented Shakespeare plays and ballad operas such as The Beggar's Opera. In 1752, William Hallam sent a company of twelve actors from Britain to the colonies with his brother Lewis as their manager. They established a theatre in Williamsburg, Virginia and opened with The Merchant of Venice and The Anatomist. The company moved to New York in the summer of 1753, performing ballad operas and ballad-farces like Damon and Phillida. The Revolutionary War suspended theatre in New York, but thereafter theatre resumed in 1798, the year the 2,000-seat Park Theatre was built on Chatham Street (now called Park Row). The Bowery Theatre opened in 1826, followed by others. Blackface minstrel shows, a distinctly American form of entertainment, became popular in the 1830s, and especially so with the arrival of the Virginia Minstrels in the 1840s.

  West End Theatre
  West End theatre is a popular term for mainstream professional theatre staged in the large theatres of London's 'Theatreland', the West End. Along with New York's Broadway theatre, West End theatre is usually considered to represent the highest level of commercial theatre in the English-speaking world. Seeing a West End show is a common tourist activity in London.
  Total attendances first surpassed 12 million in 2002 and 13 million in 2007, setting a new record for the West End. Since the late 1990s there has been an increase in the number of famous screen actors on the London stage.
  The Theatre in London flourished after the English Reformation. The first permanent public playhouse, known simply as The Theatre, was constructed in 1576 in Shoreditch by James Burbage. It was soon joined by The Curtain. Both are known to have been used by William Shakespeare's company. In 1599, the timber from The Theatre was moved to Southwark, where it was used in building the Globe Theatre in a new theatre district formed, beyond the controls of the City corporation. These theatres were closed in 1642 during the interregnum.

  Balaam
  Balaam (Hebrew: בִּלְעָם, Standard Bilʻam Tiberian Bilʻām) is a diviner in the Torah, his story occurring towards the end of the Book of Numbers (Hebrew: במדבר). The etymology of his name is uncertain, and discussed below. Every ancient reference to Balaam considers him a non-Israelite, a prophet, and the son of Beor, though Beor is not so clearly identified. Though other sources describe the apparently positive blessings he delivers upon the Israelites, he is reviled as a "wicked man" in the major story concerning him. Balaam attempted to curse God's people. He failed all three tries, each time producing blessings, not curses (Numbers 22-24). Balaam's error and the source of his wickedness came not from the curses he never delivered on, but from sabotaging the Israelites as they entered the Promised Land. According to Numbers 31:16 and St. John (Revelation 2:14), Balaam returned to King Balak and informed the king on how to get the Israelites to curse themselves by enticing them with prostitutes and unclean food sacrificed to idols. The Israelites fell into transgression due to these traps and YHWH sent a deadly plague to them as a result (Numbers 31:16).

  Daniel Breaker (born June 2, 1980) is an American actor.
  Born in Manhattan, Kansas, the son of a career military officer, Breaker grew up partly in Germany and attended Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, a performing arts school in Florida. He then earned a BFA degree from the Juilliard School in 2002. He married director Kate Whoriskey in 2008, and the couple have a son, Rory.
  Beginning his career in 2002 immediately after graduating from Juillard, Breaker has performed in Off-Broadway, London and U.S. regional theatre productions. He performed in five plays at the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington D.C. His first major role was the Youth, protagonist of the Off-Broadway premiere of Passing Strange, in which he won an Obie in 2008 for his performance. He was then nominated for a Tony for the show's Broadway transfer, in which he again played the Youth; he also played this role in Spike Lee's filmed version of the musical. Breaker has also been a guest star on television.
  One of his most recognizable roles was Donkey in the original Broadway production of Shrek the Musical, which ran from November 2008 through January 2010. He starred alongside long-time Broadway stars Brian d'Arcy James, Sutton Foster, John Tartaglia and Christopher Sieber. He earned a Drama Desk Award nonimation for Outstanding Actor in a Musical, for his portrayal. His voice can be heard on the original cast recording of the show.

  Dean Sean Edwards (born July 30, 1970) is an American stand-up comedian, actor, singer, writer, voice artist, comedian, and musician whose trademark is a voice similar to Eddie Murphy.

  Dicky Cheung Wai-kin (born 8 February 1965) is a Hong Kong actor and singer.
  He entered show business in the early 1980s, signing a contract with television station TVB. He won the 3rd annual New Talent Singing Awards in 1984. Up until the mid 90's, Dicky struggled for many years working as a low-paid actor, singer, and appeared occasionally in films. It wasn't until his brilliant portrayal of the Monkey King character in the 1996 TVB adaptation of the classical Chinese novel Journey to the West that his popularity began to skyrocket. A sequel to the TV adaptation was planned, but due to a contract dispute with TVB, Cheung left before production began. Benny Chan Ho Man took over the role of the Monkey King in the sequel. Cheung then went abroad to Taiwan to continue his career.
  He has appeared in many Taiwanese television productions since then. In 1999, TVB's rival station ATV acquired the Hong Kong broadcasting rights to his Taiwanese television series Young Hero Fong Sai Yuk. Cheung played Fong Sai Yuk, a character also portrayed by Jet Li in his film Fong Sai Yuk. The show was an instant hit in Hong Kong, and managed to gain much higher ratings than TVB's own television series. The TVB series showing at that time was Dragon Love, starring Benny Chan Ho Man, who replaced Cheung in the Journey to the West sequel, Journey to the West II.

  Eugenio González Derbez (born September 2, 1962) is a Mexican actor of film and comedy television. He created the television series of XHDRBZ, Vecinos, and La familia P. Luche. Derbez is also a Formula Three Auto racing driver.
  Derbez was born in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico, the son of actress Silvia Derbez and publicist Eugenio González Salas. His maternal grandfather was French. Derbez developed an early childhood interest in acting. He made his television debut at twelve, acting as an extra in a telenovela. Derbez kept acting during his school years and took his first formal acting class at age 19. Derbez began his acting career in the theater. During the early 1980s, Derbez was a regular in Cachun, Cachun, Ra, Ra!, a Mexican television show. He also participated in En Familia con Chabelo, a children's television show.
  In 1988 Derbez got his first recurring television position when he played a number of roles in a comedy show called "Anabel". In 1987, he briefly worked in a television series named Tal Como Somos ("Just The Way we Are"). In 1990, he played Eugenio in the comedy film Transplante a la Mexicana ("Mexican Style Transplant").   Jan Gintberg (born December 3, 1963 in Lynge, Allerød Municipality, Denmark) is a Danish stand-up comedian and television and radio host.
  He started his career as a stand-up comedian in 1992 where he was number three in the competition to be the best Danish stand-up comedian. In 1997 he got his breakthrough with the radio-program Tæskeholdet (Danish for: The Thrashing Team) on DR's P3, along with Casper Christensen, Mads Vangsø, and Søren Søndergaard. Since then he has been a part of many television comedy shows, either as a writer or host, and has toured Denmark with a number of stand-up shows, among them a double show with Jonathan Spang. In early 2006 he appeared on the Daily Show on Comedy Central during the Muhammed drawings crisis. He is currently the host of the Danish version of the game show Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?. Has now a count of 5 oneman stand up shows, from 1998 to 2007: 'Det ligger i generne' (It's in the genes)(1998), 'Gearet 2 tænder' (Geared 2 tacks)(2000), 'Op på fars jihad' (Onto dad's jihad)(2002), 'Den grimme melding' (The ugly announcement)(2004) and 'Big Time Paranoia' (2007). Gintberg is especially known for talking about politicians, political subjects and other current events in his shows. Mostly it's the Danish Government that's in his focus. November 1, 2006, Gintberg published is first ever book, Dysfunktionel Far, about his life as a father, seen from Gintberg's characteristic, and humorous, point of view. Gintberg Verden (Gintberg's World), a book collecting Gintberg's best columns from a variety of newspapers, was published in the fall of 2007. He also gave voice to Mushu in the movie Mulan.

  Jerzy Stuhr
  Jerzy Stuhr (Polish pronunciation: [ˈjɛʐɨ ˈʂtur]; born 18 April 1947 in Kraków) is one of the most popular, influential and versatile Polish film and theatre actors. He also works as a screenwriter, film director and drama professor. He serves as the Rector of the Ludwik Solski Academy for the Dramatic Arts in Kraków.
  Jerzy Stuhr's ancestors, Leopold Stuhr and Anna Thill, migrated to Kraków from Mistelbach, Austria, shortly after their wedding in 1879.
  Having obtained a degree in Polish literature from the Jagiellonian University in 1970, Stuhr spent the next two years studying acting at the Academy for the Dramatic Arts in Kraków (Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Teatralna often shortened to PWST), where he became a professor.
  From the early 1970s, Stuhr appeared in Polish theatre and worked in film productions, making his debut with the role of Beelzebub in Adam Mickiewicz's Dziady directed by Konrad Swinarski.
  Having met film director Krzysztof Kieślowski in the mid-1970s, he continued to work with him until Kieślowski's death in 1996. To an international audience, Stuhr may be best known for his minor role as thick-witted hairdresser Jurek in Kieślowski's Three Colors: White, in which he starred alongside Julie Delpy, Janusz Gajos, and Zbigniew Zamachowski. In Poland and nearby countries, he is probably best known for the part of Max in Juliusz Machulski's 1984 dystopian cult comedy Seksmisja (one of the most popular Polish movie), and – to the youngest audience – for lending his voice to the talking donkey in the dubbed Polish version of the Shrek trilogy. Other important films include Kieślowski's The Scar (Blizna, 1976), Camera Buff (Amator, 1979) and Part 10 of The Decalogue series (1988), Machulski's Kingsize (1987), Kiler (1997) and Kiler 2 (1999), and Zanussi's Life for Life (1988).   José Sánchez Mota (born June 30, 1965), better known as José Mota, is a Spanish comedian and actor, member, with Juan Antonio Muñoz, of the comedy duo Cruz y Raya between 1989 and 2007.
  In 1985, while he was serving in the military service, he met Juan Antonio Muñoz, with whom he began his career as a comedian. They started performing shows at small theaters in Madrid, such as in Cien personajes en busca de humor (One Hundred Characters in the Quest of Humor), but it was Javier Sardá who gave them the opportunity of making their own radio La Bisagra. In 1989 they moved to televisión with the program Pero ¿esto qué es?, in the Spanish public channel (La 1). The sketches were about a radio station, "Cruz y Raya, the station that should, but never shuts up". Later they were aired in Telecinco with the show Tutti Frutti, and then they came back to TVE in order to replace the famous Spanish comedians Martes y Trece at several New Year's Eve special shows.
  Mota has also gave his voice to several characters in the Spanish dubbing of animation films as Monsters Inc. and all the Shrek films. He is best known for his roles in Ninja Scroll (as Jūbei Kibagami), Aladdin: Japanese Version (as The Genie), Cowboy Bebop (as Spike Spiegel) and (Ein), Ghost in the Shell (as Togusa), Neon Genesis Evangelion (as Ryōji Kaji), Soreike! Anpanman (as Cheese), Ranma ½ (as Ryōga Hibiki/P-chan and the Jusenkyō Guide). He is known for voicing Jim Carrey and Eddie Murphy in the Japanese language releases of their respective films.
  He was the manager of the Tagajō Senior High School basketball team before he made a name for himself. His voice-acting debut was the OVA Megazone 23 as the motorcycle-riding Shinji Nakagawa, while his television debut was the anime Bosco Adventure as the cowardly Otter. Yamadera's break-out role as a voice actor was the anime Ranma ½, in which he played the dual role of Hibiki Ryōga and the Jusenkyō Guide. In 1991, Yamadera joined forces with Toshihiko Seki and Noriko Hidaka to form the acting unit Banana Fritters (バナナフリッターズ, Banana Furittāsu^?), which disbanded in 1995. In October 1997, Yamadera became a host on the TV Tokyo children's variety show Oha Suta. Yamadera married fellow voice actress Mika Kanai in 1994 and they stayed married for twelve years until divorcing on the spring of 2006 (though the divorce wasn't made public until late 2007).   Mark Moseley is an American actor, stand-up comedian, and a writer-sketch performer for radio. Even though he has appeared in a variety of films, TV shows, and video games, he is probably best known as a sound-double for Eddie Murphy.
  Moseley has also played Mushu the dragon for Disney in everything except the original film Mulan, where Eddie Murphy played Mushu.   Med Hondo (born Mohamed Abid Hondo, 1936) is a Mauritanian film director, producer, screenwriter, actor and voice actor. He emigrated to France in 1959 and began to work in film during the 1960s. He received critical acclaim for his 1967 directorial début Soleil O.
  Hondo was born in 1936 in Ain Oul Beri Mathar in the Atar region of Mauritania. His mother was Mauritanian and his father Senegalese. In 1954 he went to live in Rabat, Morocco to train to become a chef at the International Hotel School there. He emigrated to France in 1959 and found work first in Marseilles and then in Paris, variously as a cook, farm labourer, waiter, dockworker and delivery man. He found that he, and other African immigrants, were unable to find jobs in their chosen professions, and in the menial jobs they could find, were paid less than the French. The difficulty of making a living during this time, as well as racism he experienced, eventually provided inspiration for his films, including Soleil O and Les 'bicots-Nègres' vos voisins.

  Mehmet Ali Erbil (born 8 February 1957) is a Turkish comedian, actor and talk show host.
  Mehmet Ali was born in Istanbul, Turkey, as the son of Saadettin Erbil, a theatre and film actor, in 1957. He is the grandson of Mehmed Efendi and the great-grandson of Mehmed Esad Erbilî.
  He completed his primary and secondary education in Istanbul, Ankara and Balıkesir. In 1970, he enrolled in the Theatre Department of State Conservatory in Ankara. Having graduated, he started his acting career in Ankara State Theatre. Afterwards, he moved to Istanbul and continued his career in musical films. In 1984, he first started his television career in a programme he hosted together with Derya Baykal and Çiğdem Tunç.
  He currently suffers from a rare disease called capillary leak syndrome.
  His TV show Çarkıfelek was cancelled on 6 October 2010 due a Erbil's derogatory reference to Alevis. The program started again in September 2011 on TNT.

Blackwood even sniffed a keyboard and claimed it made him feel "suggestible". Blackwood also warned watching parents that exposure to the fumes would make their children "smell like hammers". He had acting appearances in Holby City in 2003 and played the title character in the 2002 television series Ed Stone Is Dead. During May 2003, Blackwood appeared in Channel 5's Celebrity Detox Camp, a highlight of which was his self-administered coffee enema, which involved him being filmed "pumping 18 litres of coffee solution through his anus into [his] stomach" In March 2007, he acted in the critically unsuccessful Bollywood film Don't Stop Dreaming. • William Steig
  William Steig (November 14, 1907 – October 3, 2003) was a prolific American cartoonist, sculptor and, later in life, an author of popular children's literature. Most noted for the books Sylvester and the Magic Pebble, Abel's Island and Doctor De Soto, he also created the character Shrek, who inspired the popular movie series.
  Steig was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Polish-Jewish immigrants from Austria, both socialists. His father, Joseph Steig, was a house painter, and his mother, Laura Ebel Steig, was a seamstress who encouraged his artistic leanings. As a child, he dabbled in painting and was an avid reader of literature. Among other works, he was said to have been especially fascinated by Pinocchio. In addition to his artistic endeavors, he also did well at athletics, being a member of the collegiate All-American water polo team. He graduated from Townsend Harris High School at 15 but never completed college, though he attended three, spending two years at City College of New York, three years at the National Academy of Design and a mere five days at the Yale School of Fine Arts before dropping out of each.
